Ok, let me start by saying that if I was reviewing the tow truck driver, he would get five stars. After my day, I was so grateful to have such a gentle soul, especially since the drive to my place was a half hour. He spoke little English and my Spanish...well, I know more of the naughty words than the proper ones. I can greet the heck out of you though! But we seriously made it work (it's amazing how easy it is to talk with folks when you are willing to listen and hear them!). Like I said, this sweetheart gets five stars and treated me and my car with total care. Now, the shit show where I started by doing delivery driving. Residential neighborhood in freaking Cornelius (no offense my friends out in the WAY out but y'all are waaaay out) and I get a flat. I have a city car (aka Smart Car like = TINY = NO SPARE) so I have to get a tow but it is Sunday, 6pm, meaning that there are zero tire places open, even if they tow my ass to Beaverton. Oy... I call my insurance carrier which provides me with free roadside assistance I last used eons ago. I call and they say I will get a text an tow company says about 1 1/2 hours because it is peak time - of course... Yes, thankfully I am safe, shaded and have AC (FYI, it is 95 degrees out so sitting in idle in a little metal oven is.... not ideal). I tap on my phone cleaning the email house out and then realize it is approaching two hours (now 8pm...). I pull up the text for tracking and it seriously just says the initial eta ... so I call the company and get a lady who practically screams into the phone at me barking for information. I keep repeating that my insurance company requested, I have an order number and a text from the company which is what I got the number from. She starts acting like I am a moral and saying that they never sent anything. Then she changes that to they did not send it correctly but she keeps saying they cannot help me and I need to call the insurance company but it will be AT LEAST another hour once they get what they want to even order the tow. So, I call the insurance company... who states that they do not know why the company did not receive and swears they are ordering it from somewhere else since the company was so rude and also would take so long. I get another text with a different company. I then five minutes later get an updated text with Castores Towing and my phone starts ringing with them calling me. It is the same very angry woman who immediately starts in on me saying they got another request from the insurance company (you know the request that they never got that apparently they now did?) and it is wrong and starts telling me how to submit it. I really made her mad when I said I do not understand as I do not work there. I just hung up on her yelling and called the insurance AGAIN... saying it has now been almost three hours, my car's battery is acting sketchy as I have had to be running AC this whole time. She called Castores and apparently she was suddenly SOOOOO nice. Insurance said can you please go get our client and oh sure.... with nothing additional... after telling me they needed all these forms??? I got home around 11pm when the initial request was at 6pm. The best part... a woman from there calls me at 1130pm and I thought it was to make sure I was ok but no... they confused me with another customer so they were like, "We can't find you...where are you parked?". Not trying to diminish anyone else's review, but I had a great experience with Mario from Castores Towing. I have an older sports car, so have a regular tow truck operator that I use because he's familiar with funky old cars. Unfortunately, it was a Sunday night and Sunday is his only day off. So that left me using my auto insurance roadside assistance coverage, meaning I'd be at the mercy of whatever company was sent. And this was actually the worst part of the experience: having to work through the insurance company's A.i. app instead of a live claims rep, which meant communicating via pre-programmed text prompts and a web page set-up to capture the claim's details. I had requested a flat bed because my car is incredibly low in the front. One of the frustrating parts of working through the A.i. was the lack of acknowledgement of this request. After waiting a couple of hours with no update to the tow truck's eta, I was able to find a phone number for Castores and called to see if THEY could give me the update that my insurance company couldn't provide. The dispatcher I reached did sound a bit perturbed at first, but told me the truck was on its way, confirmed it was a flat bed, and gave me an eta. I have to add it was 830 PM Sunday night at this point and I know if I got a work call at 830 Sunday night, I probably wouldn't sound like the jolliest old elf either. A short time later Mario arrived exactly on time, was able to get my car up on his truck without damaging it, and got me and the car home quickly and safely. If my regular guy is unavailable in the future, I would not hesitate to use Mario and Castores again. read more

Tow ; The quality of the towing is may seem like less from the looks of the tow truck but I assure you the quality is top notch and very professional. I ordered the tow through my service agreement so unsure on compared rates .. I have free tow for about 10miles. Anything over is out of pocket and my destination is about 14miles. So I'm assuming if I'm correct with 7.50 per mile it'll be about $30 out of pocket. Sounds like a potentially the value is well worth it. Thank you. read more

This review is not about Castores Towing's actual towing service, but is a review regarding the safety (or lack) of at least one driver. This evening, October 15 from approximately 6:15 to 6:25 I had a driver ride my tail less then a car length's space going up and down Rex Hill between Sherwood and Newberg. I was going with the flow of traffic in the right lane...traffic that was, perhaps, 5 miles under the posted speed. I had nowhere to go and could go no faster, as traffic was slowed. This driver could easily see that as he bore down on me, seeming to think he could bully me into driving faster, despite many cars in front of me. This unsafe driving showed me all I need to know of the safety consciousness of at least one Castores Towing driver. You might check into your log books, CT, and let this person know their driving is a liability. read more

if you are dispatched this company for a tow I highly suggest calling to change the tow company prior to it being towed. if I could give zero stars I would at this point. I trusted the tow truck driver with the towing of my vehicle scheduled by my insurance driver company after running over a razor blade in an apartment complex, leaving my tire completely flat. While my vehicle was on his flat bed tow truck, the driver hit the awning/ signage at the dealership where I asked for it to be dropped off because we we not able to remove the cover on the wheel to get to the lug nuts and put the spare on. The vehicle was dropped at 4:21am and I was not notified of the damage caused my the tow truck driver until noon!!!! I was finally able to pick my vehicle up that night and see the damage.... The next day I had to then have the vehicle towed out of portland near the Lloyd center to Hillsboro because the transmission would not shift properly. Now Castores towing are denying fault regarding the issues with the transmission and giving me the run around. The damage to my truck should have never happened when being towed. This is complete negligence and unacceptable. I would not recommend this company at all. I will be filing the appropriate documents with the better business bureau and Publishing my concerns/ review to any website I can until this situation is 100% resolved. read more

This company ignored the request from the insurance company to use a flatbed for our lowered vehicle with camber. They arrived without it and then proceeded to argue with me about whether or not that was the appropriate way of towing. The driver indicated it would take another two hours after the two hours we already waited. I said I wasn't going to do that tonight and he got in his truck and left. I called dispatch and explained the situation and he indicated they don't even tow lowered vehicles and wasn't sure why they accepted the job. What a mess! USAA sent casters tow company out to my car, and it was actually really fast, maybe an hour or so - the original estimate was 120-175 minutes. I did call them to give them a bit more information about my tow location, because it was the weekend so the shop would not be open, and the dispatcher was very knowledgeable and flexible, honest about the amount of time it would take. I was flexible on time, so I can't comment on having to wait at my car for a tow. They got it to the location and I received a text from the driver with a picture of the drop off. I was in West Linn and they towed to Tigard. read more

If I could give it -0 stars I would! Their service was set up for me through my insurance company. I was texted an expected arrival time from my insurance, when they didnt show up I called and come to find out they were going to be 15 minutes past the expected arrival time. I should have known then. My auto repair shop called me looking for the vehicle at 5:09pm, I returned their call at 5:15pm just as it was showing up. But come on! My shop had to call ME looking for my vehicle, that's serious wrong. I tried to call today to find out an answer as to why it took almost 2 hours to make a 45 minute drive from my workplace to the repair shop, which is right by my house, and at first the receptionist was rude and talked over me and was being argumentative. After some back and forth I finally got told that my car was sitting while they were doing a shift change! Seriously?! To make it worse her best response was "why are you upset it's not like we stole parts off of your car or damaged it". Are you flipping kidding me?! I will commend them for getting to me on-time, with no rescheduling. My complaint is with the person they sent to move my vehicle. First off, the guy wouldn't wear a mask. I asked him to roll down the window for proper air flow, and he rolls one window down halfway. He didn't have glasses on, so wearing a mask shouldn't impede driving. That was just very minor. The big issue is that he wouldn't listen to anything I said. First, he asked what was wrong with my vehicle. I said it wouldn't start, and that I'd show him what it was doing. I did, and he said "oh. It's the battery." I said "that's unlikely since I replaced it 6 months ago." He said "are you sure?" I said "... yeah. I replaced it myself. I would know if I replaced it." He said "okay. If you say so." We get to driving, and he makes alot of hard, sudden stops. At one point, he stopped so hard, he had to swerve a bit to avoid rear- ending the car at the red light. Rode and crossed the dashed line on the freeway (which I can forgive, since this is a big vehicle). He missed the proper on-ramp to the freeway, but corrected himself. This lead to my next issue. When we exited the freeway, I mentioned "hey! There's a roundabout coming up after the next light. You might want to get over."... "hey. There's a roundabout coming up at the next light. You'll want to get over." Then as he realizes he's in a right turn only lane, says "oh! I don't turn here." Then cuts over into the next lane. Well, then we need to park my car. I tell him "there's no parking on that side of the street, so you'll want to go past the light, and turn where that 30mph sign is." He ignores me, turns anyway. He then says "which house is it?" I say "it's okay, you'll have to park on the street in the neighborhood." He says "I know. I just wanna see it." This makes me uncomfortable, as a woman traveling alone. So I tell him "it's okay. You can just pull up there." "Is that your house?" He asks. I say "yeah. Sure." It was not my house. I didn't feel comfortable being pressed for this information when he had my address on Google maps. So then comes time to park my car. I say "hey, if you drop it off here like this, it'll be backwards, and we're on a main road. I'll get a big ticket." He proceeds to unload my car anyway, stops, then says "oh wait. You know what I just realized? It'll be backwards if we do it like this." So I say "yeah. You can just pull around the corner." I had asked him to pull into the neighborhood several times by this point. Then we find a spot, and he unloads my car... and it's nearly 2 feet from the curb. I know, because I could stick my feet end-to end between my tires and the curb. I tell him "hey! You can't leave it like this! I'm going to get towed if you do!" To which he replies "nah. You'll be fine." I tell him "no, this isn't okay." Then he realizes he needs to take pictures for the insurance, and then says "yeah... we can move it. That works." So we end up having to push my car into the spot so it's not sticking out in the middle of the road. Worst customer service experience I've ever had, I do not recommend. read more

I can't comment on any of their other services because this was set up via my insurance after I had locked my keys in my car. Took about 25 minutes on a Saturday at 1am in the morning for the guy to come out and help me with my car. I was ecstatic because this was much sooner than the estimated 45 minute arrival time that I was texted. He called as soon as he arrived and then got to work. My car is pretty difficult to get into, but he didn't give up and kept at it until he was able to get my keys to fit through the crack. read more

Where to begin. We received an ETA confirmation message for a simple tow for 1:20-1:50 pm after starting the tow claim at 11:45 pm. By 5:30 pm we were still waiting. No one could reach the tow company, meaning myself or the insurance company. We decided to cancel the tow and pay out of pocket for someone that could arrive within the hour as we had taken the whole day now to deal with this. The insurance confirmed our cancel. New tow company WE out of pocket hired arrived and said the tow truck drive who spoke zero English had our truck on the tow and had slid into a ditch on the property. We arrived and the driver said he was waiting for the owner to come with ANOTHER tow truck. 8:00 pm... Both the owner and driver spoke no english and DESTROYED a driveway and animal pasture trying to drag out the tow truck with our vehicle on it, even tho we had canceled the service thru the insurance company. Our vehicle was delivered at almost 10:00 pm at night. It was the biggest mess and sh*t show I have ever had to deal with. VERY inexperienced for a "recovery company" We have contacted our insurance and filed a claim for property damages from the tow company. Stay far away from this company. read more

The following day I had USAA get in touch with them since they ignored me, and they then cancelled the tow job. over 16 hours wasted waiting on this company. read more

My best friend's car was broken into and wouldn't start. USAA called these bozos -- they revised the pickup time over and over again. They wouldn't answer my friend's calls. When USAA finally got on the phone with them and transferred them over to my friend, they hung up on her! Nobody should be giving this sorry excuse of a company their business. If you're an insurance company, save your clients the hassle and call literally anywhere else. It seems like anyone who hires these guys via insurance gets ghosted -- it's giving scam, shady, ugly, disrespectful to people in need of car service. Is this legal? To only service the people who aren't connecting with you through insurance? If that's the case, someone ought to sit these clowns down, perhaps in court. read more

If I could give zero stars I would SINCE THEY DIDNT BOTHER TO SHOW UP OR ANSWER THE PHONE. Short story: State Farm sent them to tow my car and they didn't answer their phone and after three hours of waiting (on a two hour eta), I recieved a text saying they weren't coming. Long story:My car starter died in the parking lot when I was doing an online pickup at Target. I set up a roadside assistance through State Farm (my insurance) and they did whatever they do and I got a text saying that Castores Towing would be towing my car to my house. They accepted and my ETA was two hours. I expected a longer wait so while I was annoyed, I was ok. The text said to get a ride home since no one can be in the car so I called my dad (who had been looking at my car) and he came back to wait with me. I called about an hour into the wait to get a more specific ETA since the app didn't show anything but the text said they had been dispatched. It went to a voicemail that didn't tell the company name and so I assume it is a cell phone. After two hours, the ETA changed to "arriving soon" but was still not showing anyone on their way. I called again just to check as it was hot and if they weren't on their way I could have my dad go get a trailer and bring it back to the house himself. No answer again. The ETA said arriving soon for over 30 minutes and then, I get a text from State Farm saying the company was not coming out. At this point, we ended up pushing my car into a better parking spot and driving home to figure something out tomorrow since it was already close to 830 pm and neither of us felt like waiting another two hours. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I've waited a few months to write this review so that it comes as a nice surprise to the owners (remember me?) and so that I can write this without using any fowl language. My review is shockingly similar to two other reviews that I've read about the reckless driving of these maniacs... I mean tow company drivers. A few months ago, I was driving home from work during rush hour on the Marquam bridge, at a dead stop waiting to take exit 300 when a Castores Towing truck side swiped my car and sped off. At first, I didn't think I'd ever be able to catch up to him but as it turns out, when he got about 30 cars ahead of me, he merged back into the exit lane. When traffic finally made it across the bridge, I was looking around to see if he was still in front of me or if he had pulled over. To my amazement he was pulled over! I quickly took down the name of the company and watched as the driver get out, checked his truck and quickly hopped back in and took off. He was out of his car for maybe a minute max so I had no time to try to get his attention or move over to the breakdown lane. When I got home, I inspected the damage and called the company. They asked my a series of seemingly very routine questions and told me they'd call me back. When they did they flat out accused me of making the whole thing up. If I get into the details, I'll get mad all over again so I'll stop there. Actually, no I won't. After a few more calls, they were unwilling to work with me so, what's a girl to do? Well this girl filed a police report. That certainly got their attention. Thankfully the damage was minimal and I was able to get the paint repaired for free through a friend who works at a car dealership. Moral of the story is, stay clear of any Castores Towing truck you see on the road. Seriously they'll try to run you off a bridge. read more

My vehicle broke down in a store parking lot during my lunch break. I called a few tow companies who wanted a lot of money to transport my car. Honestly, I was hesitant to call Castores Towing based on reviews, but decided to give them a chance and have zero regrets. The price was very reasonable (lower than the others, but not so low I was leery), the tow driver showed up within the quoted time (maybe even a little sooner), and the most important part - he handled my vehicle with care (only went up a bit at a time to make sure it went on the bed straight, stopped and turned the wheel as appropriate before pulling it up more). I wouldn't call this company for any reason. Kept postponing the tow time. They finally picked up the car from a shop 4 hours late. Then they dropped the car off at the wrong address. Insurance kept telling them that the car was delivered, and Castores Towing said it was delivered. After 3 phone calls from the insurance company, C.T. blocked wouldn't answer the insurance company's calls. Then my daughter tried calling, and they kept saying they delivered the car, and ended up blocking her. Yesterday Castores provided towing service for me after USAA kept me waiting SIX hours while they promised me two other companies: Royal and Team which never showed despite long waits The driver was courteous AND am amazed at his ability to get my full sized sedan, on the huge flat bed given narrow aisle it was parked in, but he did When we arrived at Landmark, his ability was amazing too to unload it. My car broke down at work and wouldn't start. I contacted my insurance company and they contacted castores towin. They texted me right away and said that they were on the way. Then I got a text immediately following the first saying that they would be there between 1:49 and 2:19. This was at 10:49am. I sat there all day and waited for them. They texted me at 2:19 and said they would be there soon. Finally at 2:45 I called them to see where they were. I was told that they were not coming because they had emergency calls and I wasn't a priority. I guess being broke down 2hrs from home isn't considered an emergency. Then the dispatcher told me he " Might" be able to dispatch another truck but could not guarantee when he could get there. I told him to forget it and hung up the phone. My insurance company called Castores Towing to retrieve my car that had slid into a small ditch because of bad weather. They said it would be 90 minutes I was ok with that due to bad weather. After two hours had passed I call them to find out when they would be there, they stated they cancelled the trip and called my insurance to let them know. As I am getting ready to call my insurance, a oncoming car hits my car damaging it on the passenger side!!!!! So now, not only do I have to find another tow, which by the way Castore's DID NOT CALL, I have to report a accident. If I could I would give them NEGATIVE 100 for their total lack of concern for a senior lady sitting in a car in 32 degree weather.
