    Cat Cafe!
    Courtney O.

The Cat Cafe Moff is located in the International Marketplace in Honolulu. Never did I think I would visit a cat cafe, but when in Hawaii, I guess. My daughter really wanted to check it out and I agreed to go even though I am a dog person through and through. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff member. She broke down all of the rules, pricing and cats that we would get to meet. I believe it was $23 per person for 30 minutes and it was an additional $3 or $5 for cat treats. They give you a buzzer that will notify you when your 30 minutes is up which I thought was cool. There were cats of every different personality - I actually loved being able to feed them with the wooden spoon that was provided. There were wooden benches throughout the room to sit at and let the cats come to you or you could walk around and visit each one. There are very specific rules for each cat - based on how you interact and who can and can't eat certain treats. The staff does a good job of watching everything without making it feel uncomfortable. I thought the environment was very chill and relaxing - we never felt rushed or bored. They do not allow food inside the room for obvious reasons, but your $23 gets you a free drink. Overall, I had a great time visiting with all of the cats and I would probably visit again if I were given another chance!

Need a cat fix in Waikiki? Miss your cat(s) while on vacay and need to do some petting? Well, here's a pleasant surprise, there's a cat cafe in the International Marketplace in Waikiki. Yes, that once beloved marketplace where you went to find cheap Hawaiian trinkets amid the banyan trees is now home to high-end Rolex, Tesla, Art Galleries, Kona Coffee & B-Patisserie, and Cat Cafe Moff. CCM is located on the second floor of the IM and is a place to escape the glitzy, hustle and bustle of Kalakaua to get your petting on. And your playtime includes a drink! Around 15 cats but really didn't see 15 in the whole place.... They also have two other cafes if you need to play and pet elsewhere in Oahu...

Be prepared for a cuteness overload! Cat Café Moff in Waikiki is an absolute gem and such a wonderful experience for anyone who loves cats or just wants a relaxing break from the busy streets of Waikiki. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a cozy, calm atmosphere and the sweetest cats lounging, playing, or curiously coming up to say hello. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and clearly cares deeply for the cats, which makes the whole experience even better. We purchased some treats, and that's when the fun really began -- the cats were instantly more interactive, climbing into our laps, playing with toys, and showing off their adorable personalities. It was so heartwarming to see how each cat had its own little quirks -- some playful, some cuddly, and others just quietly watching from their favorite spots. The space is clean, organized, and very peaceful. You can tell the cats are well cared for and comfortable. It's the perfect way to spend an hour -- petting cats, taking cute photos, and just soaking in the good vibes. Whether you're a local or just visiting Waikiki, I highly recommend stopping by Cat Café Moff for a dose of happiness and a whole lot of purrs.

Located on the second floor of the International Marketplace, this cat cafe has different breeds of cats to interact with. We came after meal time, so the cats were sluggish and sleepy, but no worries, that didn't take away from the experience. There was a flyer detailing all the cats, their names, and any special instructions. For example there was one cat on a diet, so customers were instructed not to feed treats (which were available for purchase in the premises). My favorite cat was the ragdoll chilling on top of the refrigerator. He had an anxiety sweater because of his habit to overgroom. Service was great--the workers were super friendly, attentive, and helpful. They were very thorough with instructions and the dos and don'ts of the cafe. Overall this was a cool experience!

While exploring the International Marketplace, my wife and I stumbled across Cat Café Moff -- and of course, we had to check it out! The experience was wonderful. It's such a soothing environment -- spending time petting cats, relaxing, and taking a little break from the busy Marketplace. The cats were all very well cared for, healthy, and clearly loved. The entire space was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. I didn't catch her name, but the staff member who looked like she might've been the manager was fantastic. She was incredibly kind, easy to talk to, and even helped bring some of the cats our way to interact with and play. It made the visit feel even more personal and enjoyable. Overall, it was such a fun and calming stop during our day. If you're a cat lover (or just need a relaxing break with some furry company), Cat Café Moff is definitely worth it. We'll happily return next time we're in Waikiki.

Cat Cafe MOFF is located at the International Market Place, and you don't have to make a reservation as they accept walk-ins! You can reserve increments of time, and your visit also includes a canned refreshment. They had an adorable number of cats, where my particular favorites were Mahina (a cream tabby white Scottish Fold sweet girl), Hoku (a brown tabby white Maine Coon boy, who seemed curious), and Laki (the red tabby white Scottish Fold boy, who seemed a bit mischievous and super playful!)! The staff were very loving and seem to take care of each cat very well, with undivided attention and keeping them active. The space was very clean and inviting! A great visit for any cat or animal lover! +Mahina, Hoku, and Laki! +adorable kitten play +friendly staff +located at the IMP

While in Honolulu, we spent a half hour petting cats to relax one morning. It did not disappoint! There were so many different and cute breeds. Most were very friendly, a few did not seem to want to be pet, but overall, I felt it was a great way to kill a little time. If you love cats, this is a must!

Come see your social media felines in person! This was an instant way to unplug and gaze into the world of Garfield. It is all about them and they need a nap from ya know, napping. Have a treat in your hand and they might acknowledge your presence. Purrfectly pampered.

Before entering, they make you fill out a risk and liability waiver form on your phone. After paying, they let you know about their cat color system to identify which cats are not friendly and which cats you're not supposed to give treats to. They give you a lanyard that contains a ticket that you could use to claim a complimentary drink. You have the choice to interact with the cats for 30 minutes or an hour. $23 for 30 minutes, $28 for 1 hour. They offer a small resident discount when presented with a Hawaii state ID. They also sell you treats to feed the cats for an additional fee. When you enter, there are storage lockers to store your belongings but there is no locks -- which is a concern because Waikiki is full of tourists that come from anywhere in the world so I can't fully put my faith into strangers whom I am not in community with. The cats are super cute. Most cats seem to not want to interact with you unless you want to purchase treats. Some will interact with the toys. Most cats stay in the towers or hide inside storage bins, to signal that they want to be left alone. You aren't allowed to carry the cats. They give your three warnings before kicking you out if you break the rules. I would give this place 5 stars but after finding out from other reviews that this place is for-profit, the cats were imported to Hawaii and are non-adoptable, it feels wrong. There are other cat cafes in the island that host local cats that are adoptable.

    Mana the tortoiseshell ragamuffin
    Sierra D.

I wouldn't consider it a true cat cafe since there's no actual coffee bar and the cats are not adoptable. They have purebred cats that you can interact with. They live there at the "cafe." We were able to just walk in without making an appointment. There is no bathroom in the cafe and you cannot leave in the middle of your session to use the bathroom. Use the mall bathroom before you go. You can choose to go in for 30 minutes for $23 or 60 minutes for $28. We did 30 minutes. It doesn't seem like a lot of time but after a while it gets a little boring. You can pet the cats if the cat consents but you cannot pick them up. At the front counter, you can buy 10 crunchy cat treats for $3 or a cat jello "frappe" for $5 but the cats prefer the treats. They give you a spoon to put the treats on so that the cats can't bite your fingers. The person at the counter gives you drink tickets and a treat receipt to exchange for the treats and drinks when you get inside. You get a drink included with admission, like a can of Coke or juice or tea. After listening to the rules, signing a waiver, and opting to buy cat treats, we were able to go inside. They provide free lockers to store large bags in because they don't want you bringing them in with the cats. The locker is in their second entrance, in between the cat room and the front entrance, so it's not accessible to the public. There is a system where the cats without the collars are the most friendly. The one with a red collar is the most moody or whatever. I don't really understand why they don't adopt that cat out so it's not in an environment that it doesn't fully enjoy. The cats were somewhat playful but none of them really wanted affection. I think that's just the way cafe cats are, though. I've been to a few cafes and they're really hit or miss. They have two American Maine Coons. Just a nitpick, but in my opinion if you're going to showcase purebred cats, it makes more sense to have a European Maine Coon because their features and size look so different than a standard cat. The American Maine Coons that they have (Kanoa and Hoku) barely have ear tufts.

Puna the supposedly approachable cat scratched up her face

We were absolutely horrified by our experience at this place. Our daughter has been really into cats lately, so we thought this would be a fun, safe way for her to interact with them. Instead, it turned into a nightmare. Right at the door, the staff told us that cats without collars were safe for children and friendly to approach. Based on that information, we let our daughter go up to one of those supposedly "safe" cats--and within seconds, it pounced on her and scratched her face. She was terrified and in pain. We had barely been in the facility for five minutes. The response from the staff was beyond inadequate. All they did was hand us a basic first aid kit and offer a refund--as if that would undo what just happened to our child. There was no real apology, no concern, no accountability. Just a shrug and a refund for our "inconvenience." This wasn't an "inconvenience." This was a completely preventable incident caused by their own misinformation and lack of proper safety measures. Don't claim your animals are safe for children if they clearly are not. This is entirely on the facility--not the animals. We're furious and deeply disappointed.

For a unique experience, come visit Cat Cafe Moff at the International Marketplace. You can purchase tickets for 30 minute or 60 minute visits, which include one drink. The beverages are chilled cans of things like Hawaiian Sun. The concept is pretty simple, you're there to hang around with cats. They have some unique breeds. The cats with ribbons/collars are meant to signify those you are not supposed to touch and, admittedly, there are quite a few that are off-limits. You can also buy cat snacks (dry snack) and cat jelly (wet snack you spoon, which was called a cat frappe at the time of my visit). I thought it was pretty necessary to have a food enticement or else the cats just wanted to ignore you. We picked the more expensive cat jelly/frappe thinking cats would love it, but they were giving all their attention to another customer with dry snacks. If you want to be overrun with cats like a wild cat lady, buy some snacks, sit still and don't move when they come to you.

Cat Cafe Moff Waikiki is the smaller version of the Ala Moana counterpart. There are certain ribbons on some cats that indicate if they are more willing to be pet or not/or shy. I noticed that at Ala Moana none of the meow meows have ribbons so I guess the Ala Moana cats are the most sociable of the bunch. I'm happy I went to the Waikiki branch though because I wanted to see Piko and Liko the popular kitty social media stars. Munchkin kitties with short legs. I love them. Same rules apply as the Ala Moana location. Location is significantly smaller, so I would definitely choose the Ala Moana place over this one, but the staff (the meow meows) are specific to each location. I would come just to see Piko and Liko honestly. LOL

Mirage Art & Coffee - A Hidden Gem in the Valley…read more Tucked away in the valley, Mirage Art & Coffee feels like a quiet escape from the busier parts of town. This Mediterranean inspired cafe is a peaceful haven where creativity flows, perfect for those who enjoy making art, browsing antique treasures or simply sipping coffee in a calm, cozy space. The staff, mostly friendly college students, were welcoming and kind adding to the charm of the place. They serve a variety of drinks including cold brew, lattes, Mediterranean-style coffee and teas. If you're looking for a slower pace and a soulful atmosphere, give this lovely little corner of Oʻahu a visit. You might just fall in love with its peaceful energy and artistic spirit. Jasmin the owner is so friendly and willing to talk story and recommend items for first timers. All of the art for sale in the cafe is hers as well! The Honey Rose Latte was wonderful with rose accents and was the perfect compliment to my beautiful and delicious hummus toast that I had for lunch (insert heart eyes emoji). Need more places like this - but I feel like it would be hard to recreate the vibe that Jasmin has created. They have reopened after a month-long closure and will have a grand reopening party at the end of June!

Next to the dogs. There was another dog enclosure but sounded like huge dogs by their low, loud barks so we moved on to the cats. First time I saw so many kittens. Not sure what her role is. (Although she seems to think she is the HHS police.) She seems to have major emotional dysregulation issues and will SNAP at people who are with a foster dog, or addopting a dog, that is sniffing at the three dog display cages in front, "DON'T LET THE DOG MAKE CONTACT WITH THE PUPPY!!!" (These three cages out front seem to be featured dogs they want people to notice?) Well perhaps they should put the cages higher up?? She also asks a lot of personal questions and follows people around the shelter, observing/spying as they view or interact with dogs (passive agressive much?!?!). If HHS was SO concerned about disease transmission, perhaps they should not have cats roaming loose inside the shelter, or FERAL CHICKENS flying and running around all over the shelter and DRINKING from the dog water bowls. After three encounters with this person in April and May, I don't want to go back. It's hard enough to be grieving and I don't need to deal with people who seem to be judging everyone who enters the shelter. I may check out the Ewa location instead. HHS leadership: the bizarre woman at the front needs to get some training on keeping her personal issues at the door when she shows up for work. GEEZ!!!

The best place to visit with the greatest owners. My review is long over-due but it is important to…read moreleave it! I came here during my vacation in Hawaii. We drove by and noticed this place and gave the number a ring via Google, and we were able to get an appointment on short notice. The owner came out with a little money, as he was even generous enough to pay for my parking. We tried the dole whip and the other treats that they offered and all of them were delicious. You can tell that the owners are really passionate about cats and kittens, and they really care about customer service. There is a lot of thought and energy that has been put into this place. The cats were all friendly but remember they are still cats so they have claws. If anything, some just wanted to play and were a little more assertive about it :) I was so delighted with the experience that I made a voluntary donation for $100. Covid has destroyed a lot of small businesses and I would hate to see this one go even though I am from California. Thank you Kitty Cafe! Hope I visit again soon.

My fiance and I like to call ourselves cat lounge connoisseurs. Just jokes- that's just me, in my…read moreown head calling myself that. But we do visit cat cafes/lounges more often than not. We go to the two in town once every few months, and enjoy the wide range of cats and kitten alike. Rebekah L. introduced us to this new kitty cafe early late last month, however with our schedules and the busy-ness of this lounge, we were only able to schedule a visit this past weekend. So we loaded up, and drove to meet Rebekah in not-so-small Kailua Town. We lucked out on street parking and met up with our friend to walk into the most kitschy kitty place of our dreams. Literally. The waiting area was decorated with cat posters and comfy chairs to wait for check in. The most impressive part was the huge cat tiki that commanded attention as soon as walking in. One of the cat owners, Heather, advised that the statue was commissioned and the work was so beautifully done it had me wondering if I wanted a cat tiki in my apartment.. After check in, we were directed to the snacks for purchase before entering the 'cat room'. We opted for both treats, and it would be brought into the cat room after it was made. The dole whip was delicious and such a generous portion too. We also tried the acai bowl for 'research purposes' and I was shocked to learn in was vegan. The acai bowl sweetness wasn't overpowering as it sometimes can be, and the granola had a nice crunch to it. So far this kitten lounge has my favorite snacks- definitely blew the previous bean water and tea out of the water. The nicest touch (in my opinion) was that the owner also directed us where the bathroom was before starting our cat adventure. It was a very nice touch as many places do not offer bathrooms, especially cat lounges. We sanitized our hands and walked into the cat area. There was a main cat area, currently decorated in the tiki/Old Hawaii style with tiny grass huts and aloha shirt cats framing the walls. One thing I was surprised and delighted to discover was that there was multiple cat rooms! To the left of the main room, there was two smaller rooms, decorated 'cat' themed as well, with Chinese Cat Paw wallpaper and cat trees and toys all over. There was 'human' seating room all over the place, and the different rooms allowed much more space and time with cats than it would have been with just one big room. There was enough hiding space for the kittens to chill out for a nap. However they were relentless in their playing and just general 'kitten-ness' that there wasn't much napping when we were there. We currently have a soon to be three year old cat, and have been on the hunt for a possible candidate for our shy guy. One thing I didn't notice beforehand (in my excitement for cats) was that the lounge was only meant for kittens, and not cats of all ages. It didn't take away from my experience at all, but I was pleasantly surprised. My fiancé ended up falling for a cute tiny kitten named Kona, however it wasn't meant to be and we didn't end up adopting her. After our hour was up, we said a heartful goodbye to the kittens and the Owners, and left feeling much more relaxed than when we came in. We will be adding Aloha Kitty Cafe into our roster of cat lounges to visit and cannot wait for our next kitty play date!
