I visited Catalina Bath and Body and the store was beautiful. Everything looked really nice and well put together. I bought a soap and sponge combo for my daughter and a bamboo mud bar soap for myself. Unfortunately my daughter misplaced the bag so I didn't get to enjoy the products this time, but I definitely want to come back and try more, especially their lip balms. So, I really wanted to like this place. I mean, it had a lot of conventional body products: body washes, lotions, "bath bombs" (not technically licensed by Lush, but whenever I hear "bath bomb" I think of Lush) and so on. I would have asked a number of questions, but the clerk on duty spent the entire time from the moment I entered to when I left talking on the phone. To her credit, she did put the phone down when I bought my patchouli soap, but that was about it. A lot of the fragrances seemed appealing. Unfortunately, there weren't any testers. And the signage did not encourage opening the products to smell them. That was a bit problematic. As it turned out, the only products I could "smell-test" where the soaps....which turned out to be very nice. And the bar was only six dollars, which I thought was very reasonable for its size and fragrance and being from a specialty shop.. A lot of the scents seemed Catalina-specific, but I have no idea whether or not there were actually local. It's really easy to slap a label on a product on a plastic bottle or rename it. Again, if I had felt comfortable asking the woman on duty about them, I would have tried to figure that out. I hope this was some emergency or, at least, a one time thing, but I'm probably not going to visit Catalina again this calendar year. And if Idid, I don't feel encouraged to come back. This cute little shop is a must visit for bath and body products in Avalon. We mainly come here for shower gel, lotion and bath bombs. They also have jewelry, crafts and arts from local artists. Everything is so stylish in reasonable prices. We will be getting all our body care products from this store. Cause it's just too heavy to bring lotion, shower and bath bottles from mainland all the time. And we don't use supermarket body care normally. The staff members were usually friendly and helpful. They did enforce mask rule even for ppl who have been fully vaccinated. If you want some shower and bath products you should definitely come in take a look! read more

Visiting the island for the first time. Could smell this place from down the street where I'm staying. Lovely, real fruit smelling products. Totally just came to browse. The decadent island scents were intoxicating and I had to grab something. Denise was super nice and polite. She had some sweet, mellow tunes playing in the background. Decided a small candle for bath time tonight would help me relax. Found the perfect island scent. Snagged the succulent tangerine hand sanitizer, too. Both products are great! Definitely recommend. Came in here looking to buy a cute souvenir during my trip and ended up buying a bracelet that was quite overpriced for the quality of it. Three days after purchasing it, the string randomly snapped on my wrist and all the beads flew everywhere. Such a small cute little boutique fully stocked with bath bombs, lotions, candles and other smelly relaxing items. The bf and I were casually strolling around and I was stopped by the buckets of bath bombs they had lined up. With how many they had to offer, I just couldn't decide. I told myself I would only get 2, which was really tough, they all smell so goods and look so beautiful. The 2 I got were: Glitter Bomb and Oatmeal Milk and Honey. We went to Catalina yesterday and visited the store to buy a token to remind us of our beautiful day on the island. The store is nicely laid out and gives the mistaken impression it sells high quality goods. We bought a scented votive candle that is advertised to burn 15hours (see their website). I went to Catalina for my birthday and was given a coupon from Catalina Express for free or discounted items and Catalina Pottery Bath and Body was on the list. Stopped in and bought several candles and received a free gift. Unfortunately the quality of the candles left something to be desired. And I am not going to spend $75 to go back to return. read more

The lotions/hand sanitizers are the best ever! The candles in the tins are pretty awesome too! I love this place! It's a must every time I come to Catalina! My favorite scent so far is Plumeria. My only criticism would be that the scents are not always consistent in terms of what is available, but they're handmade so it makes sense. read more

I purchased several soy candles during a trip to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately, only the vanilla scented candles were fragrant. The rest of the candles purchased basically just burned and were not fragrant at all. Went into the store and the owner was super helpful. I was looking for a body scrub and luckily they had one left which was almond cherry. I wasn't sure about the scent. It when we got back to our hotel I used it and loved it. The scent grew in me and the overall scrub is wonderful. It was great to use after being in the sun and on the beach most of the day. Came here on 4th of July - busy day for the Island! I was looking for a little souvenir to take home to my family. When I walked into Catalina Pottery Shop I was not greeted by the employee behind the desk. Ok, maybe she didn't see me so I walked over to where she was. The employee looked up at me and continued placing stickers on jars. I thought their $12 lotion was cute, but I passed on it just because I wasn't greeted. Just saying Hello goes a long way. read more
