Well where do I start. Our waitress was not happy to be there. Couldn't get water, never got refills and she brought me burnt eggplant parm not once but TWICE n told me they said it's just brown it was disgusting. The zucchini fries were so salty that was a $10 waste and it cost me 3.50 to have tomato juice added to my beer! Worst experience and the worst part I had 12 people go there for the band! $40 later n I'm starving. read more

I usually don't write reviews but tonight I will. We are not regular customers, but we have eaten here before and found our previous visits as, I'd say ok, but I can't ignore commenting on our visit tonight. To start, we were seated at a table with a broken seat bench. My wife and I took it upon ourselves to change tables. After waiting for about 5 minutes, we motioned to a man that appeared to be either the manager or owner. We gave our drink order and also ordered a pizza. Our drinks were brought to us and then the waiting began. I wasn't running a stop watched but it took much longer than one would expect, with the waitress eventually telling us it would be about 5 minutes longer. When the pizza arrived I gave my wife a slice and took one for myself. I won't go into detail, but the crust was hard and when I bit in the crust was so hard I had to rip it apart with my teeth. I couldn't help notice that my wife was having trouble with hers. We then tried cutting it with a knife and literally had to saw it with the knife.I complained to the waitress and she said she would tell the cook. We didn't hear anything back so I approached the person who I thought was the owner. He said that he was the owner. so I expressed my concerns to him. His comment was. "I'm eating pizza now," as he motioned to his plate, "and it's ok" He then asked , how can I make it right. I'm not one to make demands, so I just told him that I thought pizza crust was dried out, tough, difficult to eat and that He would appreciate customer feedback, He said thanks and went back to eating his pizza, without any further acknowledgement. We ordered the ham and pineapple large pizza. Just under $40, for take out. We will be eating it for a week. A ranger at the Catalina State park recommended this place for pizza and he was spot on. Family owned restaurants are either really good or bad. The service was friendly, professional and really made you feel welcoming. We started with their wings, with the honey Buffalo and BBQ on the side. Plus ranch and blue cheese. The wings were hot, crispy and juicy. The way wings should be cooked. We went with eight, then as we were leaving bought another order for a late night snack while watching our midnight movie. I do wish they had more veggies, carrot sticks with the wings, but that's my only gripe. For the pizza, I went with no cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms and grilled chicken. The pizza was very good, and the crust was thin. Going back, we would go either wings and a salad or pizza, only because you just want to eat more, and overstuff yourself. Sorry to say this, especially since this has been our go to place for pizza for years. But...they never put much meat on their pizzas any more. We usually order the large Lucky Marie, but the last two have come with little pepperoni and miniscule sausage. I sure hope they see this and get back on track. They have the best crust around, but crust and cheese is not what I like in a pizza, especially for $30 a pop. read more

I would like to say first that it is very difficult for me to have to write this review but feel it is warranted. My family and I have been loyal regular customers of this restaurant since 2011 when we moved here. We discovered the CSM Trio and the combination made for a fun entertaining night out for our family and friends we invited to join us. Up until last month we were able to reserve a table but the owner has decided that it is inconvenient for them to do so...I personally went in to discuss the situation with him and received an I don't care attitude and he ended by saying "well I've made the decision and if I end up with an empty restaurant I guess I'll be to blame". I left and will unfortunately no longer patronize his business. I truly wonder if customer loyalty even means anything anymore. I didn't see evidence that it did in this case. Probably the worst pizza I've ever had but even worse than that was the service. This is my second time. I tried their meatball sub again one of the worst I've ever had. I can't recommend this place at all the servers don't even check on you after your order, you have to chase them down and when you go up to pay your bill you find out maybe they haven't even input it yet so you have to stand around and wait. Slow service. It's best to call ahead than wait 35 minutes even when there were barely customers at that time. We also have had better pizza at that same price range. Pizza is just OK but won't be craving for it. As for the place-- I actually don't know why restaurants have to be dark. It's common but it looks dated. Newer restaurants tend to be bright. read more

I can't believe we live this close and hadn't tried Catalina Craft Pizza until recently, but we're SO glad we did. It's hard to find gluten-free options in our area, even Oro Valley, and the gluten-free options don't end at the pizza. They are able to make their awesome wings gluten-free. The wings really are excellent. But what really impressed us and stays with us is the service here. We've eaten here twice in a week. Our first time, our server was Isabella and she was so sweet, and accommodating and helpful in getting the wings to be GF, she talked to the chef (Brady?) and we were there early enough so they could bake them. Anyway, Isabella really provided great service and the wings were great. We were hoping to get pizza, my wife is the one with the gluten allergy, and they were out of the GF crust that day, so I didn't feel right getting pizza if she couldn't try the GF crust. So I went with the Italian sandwich, because, well, first of all, HELLO, CAPICOLA! I love capicola, I rarely see it on anyone's menu and I also noticed they use it as a meat topping for their pizzas, so I got the sandwich so I'd know how it'd be on the pizza next time. The whole sandwich was very good, not just the capicola, I liked the peppers and the other meats and the bread was fresh. But the experience stood out because of Isabella's great service, even if we didn't like the food. Later that same week, I called to see if the GF crust was available, it was, and we went. This time our server was Marisa, and she was just as great as Isabella! We really liked her. She was also VERY pleasant, and just a lot of fun to have as our server, she checked on us, it was a lot of fun AND we were able to enjoy the pizza. NICE! Pretty darn close to NY pizza! Excellent crust, chewy but also crispy AND you can taste a nice flavor in the dough, it's not JUST a vessel for the sauce and cheese. I think the mozzarella is what makes the pizza so good, although the sauce is also great, it's got a little bit of a sweetness to it, not too acidy. And you can bet I got capicola as a topping and it was great! Capicola and black olive, yum! Even the GF pizza was very good (usually you say it's "good for gluten-free" but this really was one of the better GF crusts). The pizza was very good but I paid for expedited service and did not get it. By the time I got my order the salad was warm and the pizza cold. I live .7 mile from this restaurant but it took nearly an hour to get my food, even though I paid extra to get it sooner. The driver admittedly failed to follow the written directions and drove aimlessly around the neighborhood looking for my house. So, I'm out the tip money for good service that I did not receive and I'm out the expedited service fee for which I did not receive. I'm very underwhelmed and feel ripped off. read more

WE WON'T BE BACK!!! My husband & I along with another couple went to Catalina Craft Pizza last night. We arrived at 5:30 pm. I had made a reservation 1-week prior and had requested a table in the bar area, not too close to the band and parallel to the bar. Mistake #1: When we arrived the hostess was directing us to a table in the dining room area. When I questioned this, she said that I had requested away from the band so that's where they chose. We asked her to find us another table inside the bar area, as I had initially requested, so she put us at a table right in front of the band. There were other tables where nobody was sitting so when I requested to sit at the corner table parallel to the bar she said we couldn't, that it was 'reserved'. She also told me that in the future I needed to be specific when I make a reservation (I thought I had been pretty specific - can you say 'parallel to the bar'?). Reluctantly, we sat at the table where she put us. Then, a group came in and sat at the table next to us. Imagine my surprise when mere minutes later, they all got up and got seated at the corner table parallel to the bar - the one we had asked to be moved to, but were told it was 'reserved'. Mistake #2: We sat at our table watching waitresses pass us back & forth for at least 15 minutes before I had to approach the bartender and ask if there was a server who was going to take our order(?). When our waitress arrived she did apologize as there was apparent confusion over which server's table it was. She proceeded to take our drink order and then suggested that we also place our food order as the restaurant was likely going to fill up because of the entertainment that night, which was why we were there. So, we ordered our drinks, some appetizers, a salad and 2 - 12" pizzas. Mistake #3: It was at least a half-hour wait, plus an inquiry to the waitress, before one of our appetizers (chicken wings for 1) was delivered to our table, another 15 minutes for our spinach dip to be delivered (it was luke warm), and then another 10 minutes when our friend's salad made it to the table. Now, IMO the salad should have been the first dish out since there is no cooking involved, but hey...‍ Mistake #4: We sat as the restaurant started filling up and food, pizza's inparticular, were brought to various tables all around us...except for ours! People that had come in "after" us were getting their food/pizzas. Mind you, it has now been almost an hour since we ordered (maybe 7 o'clock by this time). When asked, we were told it should be coming out soon...LOL Mistake #5...and this is a biggie: On the way back from the restroom (which btw...only 1 was in working order), my husband stopped at the hostess desk and told the gal there (with the long, straight blonde hair) that we've had the worst service we've ever had. She started making excuses and proceeded to get very agitated with him (arms flailing, very rude behavior) and when he told her that we've been waiting an hour & a half for our pizzas, she responded with, "If you think you can get your pizza any faster, go back there and cook it yourself." Now I ask you, isn't that a wonderful reaponse to a paying customer? SHAME ON HER! We ended up canceling our pizzas, paying for the food & drinks we had actually been served and left. Fortunately or unfortunately, it was shortly after the band finished playing anyway (close to 8pm), which (again) was what brought us there in the first place. I am not one to give bad reviews or complain, but our experience there started off on a negative vibe from the 'get-go'! While we really enjoy the band, we will go see them someplace else because we will not go back to Catalina Craft Pizza. read more

I love this place not only for it's pizza, but they also make some mean chicken wings. My personal favorites for pizza and wings are the Kitchen Sink pizza and the Bighorn Fire (dry rub) wings. The wings spicy and flavorful and just the right amount of heat. The pizza is piled with toppings and has an amazing crust. They also have a great local beer selection including craft beers from 1912 Brewing, Barrio Brewing, and lots of others! It's so nice to have a local hang on the North side of town that appreciates good beer. Catalina Craft Pizza is also home to many awesome events including comedy from GrAttitude Productions. They have open mic comedy most Sunday Nights at 6pm and lots of showcases you can buy tickets to see! Live music is the highlight at Catalina Craft! They have multiple artists every weekend. We are here at least 1-2 times a month to enjoy Eric Schaffer & the Other Troublemakers, Tiny House of Funk, PD Ronstadt, etc. If the act happens to be a popular one, call a few days in advance to reserve your seat. It's also a good idea to arrive before the performers start so you can place your order before the crowd arrives. Service is generally good, though it takes awhile for food to arrive when it's crowded. We've been given a free dessert twice because parts of our order were missed. The food itself is consistently good, though not gourmet. Always ask about the pizza special that typically involves a creative combination (e.g. shrimp scampi or fig & feta). The salads also are good. We have not ordered pasta, but--in glancing at nearby tables--the portions appear large. Oh, and the dessert special varies and usually can be shared. Catalina Craft is a family operation, and we appreciate their efforts to bring great music and decent food to the north end of town. read more
