A buddy and I visited the Ore House for some drinks and a bite to eat before going home to the wives. We arrived and sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender. We had a few beers from the good selection of draft beers, mostly from AZ brewers. I was surprised that they had Coors light, which is my everyday favorite beer (when Lonestar isn't offered). I ordered the Blue Buffalo burger with onion rings. The burger was very tasty and the onion rings are some of the best I've tasted in the Tucson area. I love the dive bar/honky tonk/tavern atmosphere withining relics decorating the building and grounds. This place is definitely unique. I will return to try some of the other menu items and maybe sit out on the large patio. This place is definitely must visit if you find yourself in Oracle AZ. You won't be disappointed.. read more

Went to get dinner tonight and was really disappointed. The Bar Tender Mercedes T was great, as always. Great conversation and very great all around. Unfortunately the Journeyman burger I ordered was not. Ordered the burger as usual without pickles. Unfortunately the burger had a half-dozen pickles on it and my first bit was really wrong tasting. It gets really upsetting when the kitchen doesn't get your order right. It was a waste of money, but at least I had great company with Mercedes. read more

Stopped in for lunch and husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich and we informed the waitress that it tasted funny and was extremely salty and was inedible, she said she would talk to the cooks. Nothing was said to us after that. Was handed the bill and no discount or it taken off the bill (one bite was missing from it), husband asked about a discount and was only given $5 off and was given attitude. Our discounted bill for an order of fish and chips, (2) ice waters, and an inedible sandwich and fries (he was able to eat the fries so we were willing to pay for those) was $30 before tip. We have been stopping here for many years primarily for a beer so this review does not reflect their food. They have an excellent selection of draft beers in addition to bottled beer and the bartender always gives us excellent service. What makes this establishment particularly unique is their ambiance. They have an interesting display of mining tools and equipment set in a rustic timbered setting. We miss the complimentary popcorn that was offered by the previous owners. Who knows, if popcorn was offered as an appetizer, we might even have more than one beer! read more

WOW what a change in a few months, it's all gone bad. Service was good and friendly, BUT,, the food was (hamburger) was very small and just a frozen patty like the 1/4 pounder from McDonald only smaller. The price, well that's crazy , it was $12.95 ($15.00 with tip/tax) and ANY side like fries or tader tots, it's $4.00 for a handful. I want businesses to make good money but this was shockingly high. For example, down the street at Casa Rivera's the same hamburgers $6.00 and a double cheeseburger is $10.! The drinks were fair, not bad, just ok, I'll stick to beer next time and eat immediately before I go . The drinks are measured so they are weak. Stopped by with my mom after going to the Biosphere 2. Decor inside and out is so fun and fits with the small town. Server was nice but never checked on us once the food was served. Regardless tho, the burgers, fries and onion rings were delicious. It's a bit on the pricey side for what the place is, but whoever smokes those patties knows what they are doing! My new favorite tavern in the whole world. The rustic charm exceeds any drinking or eating place I've ever been. And the food is excellent. Quite honestly the best coleslaw I have eaten in my life. Chicken tenders also amazingly tasty and succulent. But I would drive for hours just for that coleslaw. I'd bet lots of money there is a secret recipe involved. Views are outstanding. So here we go, when I went the new owner had just taken over. They were understaffed and it took a long time to get food. Waiting there was actually great the staff and the owner were great and very apologetic about the wait. The place is amazing with all kinds of funky and beautiful details. The patio is beautiful and so is the view, the details in the building reminded me of my own house. When we got our food it was delicious. I'm already planning my next trip to Oracle and this will be one of my stops. read more

Stopped here yesterday after a visit to the biosphere too! Not a whole lot of options for restaurants in oracle, but this place looked pretty good on yelp! There were only two people working and this place got surprisingly busy. We were prepared for a wait because the menu said that the wait could be a little longer. It was not bad at all though, didn't feel like we were waiting a long time. I got a veggie flatbread. I loved the house made pesto that it had. Very yummy. Was in the area, and we ended up stopping off for dinner. Not from the area, never heard of the town. Didn't know what to expect? My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, while I ordered the Pork Loin sandwich. We also had fries, and onion rings. We both really enjoyed the food, we liked that the portions were not that big. Service was great, atmosphere was a western style pub. It was very surprisingly enjoyable. If we're ever back in the area again, we will diffidently visit again. read more

I love this place high atop the hill in the town of Oracle with it's cooler temps and incredible views of the San Pedro river valley in the distance below. Sunsets are spectacular as you relax in the spacious natural outdoor patio, kind of a huge sandbox for adults. It's unpretentious but has become just about my favorite tavern in the country. Years ago when I lived in the Tucson area I would ride out here on my motorcycle in the evenings and enjoy a few tall boys that they keep in a huge bed of ice. Now we roam the western US and Mexico fulltime in an RV but always stop here when we pass through most every year. The food is better than ever, the brisket and beer battered fries are the best. They have an excellent selection of local and national micro-brews but when here I usually prefer to stick with the super chilled tall boys. Prices are moderate and the staff is always great. It's too bad the free buckets of popcorn and peanuts went away due to Covid, but certainly understandable. read more

We really enjoyed our evening at the Orehouse- the sunset was amazing &'the food & service were great. We had the Beer Battered Fish & the Brisket Soft Tacos. The portions aren't huge (which was fine with us), but it was all very tasty - the beer battered fries are amazing My husband had a couple of their Amber tap beers (local brew) & loved it. I really like the music they play & it's a comfortable place. We think it has a lot more potential seating & decor wise. food was excellent. we waited almost 2 hrs for our food. you don't have staff coming to your table anymore, which we didn't know until we asked , after sitting there for almost a half an hr. you have to go to the bar to order drinks and food. 1-2 bartenders doing all the work. just not enough staff. shouldn't have to wait that long for food. wont be back. We sat outside in an area I can best describe as a corral. Again, great views. The staff was friendly and they are also dog friendly in the outdoor area. For good solid bar food this place stands up anyplace, but off the beaten track as it is , the Orehouse surprises. The ambiance is unique, the patio pleasant, the staff friendly and efficient, and the food as good as bar food gets. The pastrami stood out. The fried fish was almost coastal. Our experience here was mixed. My husband really enjoyed his burger. My daughter's pulled pork was flavorful but she found a piece of bone in it, which obviously you don't expect in pulled pork. I ordered the brisket sandwich and was quite disappointed. It was nothing like brisket. I expected sliced brisket but what I got instead were cubes of meat that didn't taste like any brisket I have ever had. I should have asked if that was how it really was supposed to be but I didn't, which I regret. The server, Alyssa, was very congenial and did a good job and we had already complained about the bone in the pork so I kept quiet. So, if you order the "brisket" sandwich, don't expect sliced, smoky meat. read more

Visited the biosphere 2 and looked for some place for a late lunch. Thanks Yelp for pointing us to this joint. Looks like a biker bar (not a bad thing), had fantastic food, wine and beer. My wife had the fish and no chips subbed cole slaw. She said she could really taste the beer in the batter. I had the pork carnitas street tacos and they were fantastic. We heard such good things about the Ore House. We had a party of six including our two young grandchildren. We ordered their street tacos (x4) a cheeseburger, chicken tenders, and fried pickles as an appetizer. The pickles never came and we waited and hour and half before the orders came. The shrimp street tacos were good, but the brisket tacos were mostly just fat pieces. Extremely disappointing overall. read more

Our of the way but worth the trip. Whenever we are north we make a point to head farther north and enjoy this restaurant. Atmosphere is comfy and service is very good. Was very disappointed for a number of reasons. first off I had a Restaurant.com certificate I purchased about a month ago and was told that the new owners, who have owned for a year, don't take them so that cost me an additional $10. Then my husband ordered the fish but they were out of regular fries and regular tater tots. Then she comes back and says they are out of the fish too. The people who we shared a long table with informed us they were also out of the mushrooms and red onion for the daily special "beef brisket sandwich with sautéed mushrooms and red onions". Why put up a daily special if you don't have the items?! On the plus side our pulled pork sandwich was amazing and our waitress was really nice. Service was a little slow as she was the only one working the front and it looked like only one person cooking. read more

Nice bar on top of a hill. Great for drinking, hard to mess up a bottle of beer. They have something they call food, I had the mushroom burger. I think they think it's special, small burger patty, canned mushrooms and some kind of bun. Not so good! But the fries were good! Stick to a side of fries and a cold bottle of beer and you'll have an okay time. Please be careful going up and down there 4wheeldrive driveway. Leave the car at home and bring the 4x4truck. read more
