So many nice things about this new nail place in Point Loma! Worth checking it out! +easy parking +safe, convenient location +very nice technicians and manager. I called ahead for an appointment near their closing time and they graciously stayed open a bit later for me. (I'm a busy mom with little time). +they offer you water, soda, tea etc. +very aesthetic...very pretty and calm decor, but not overdone. +it's huge! So many spa chairs. And literal bar style seating where you could easily chat it up with your friends. +super clean and hygienic. For the bubbles in the foot spa, they use a special straw thing built into the plastic bowl cover to use air (instead of recirculated water/jets) +it's right next to Jensen's so you can get your grocery shopping done too. The only negative to date was the fact that I got charged 8 extra dollars for cuticles to be cleaned up? Fabulous new nail spot! I was so excited that they opened. The nail techs are so nice and did a great job! It's very zen and relaxing inside. I personally appreciate the lack of tvs - it's just peaceful. They served us hot tea and mentioned that we could also get a class of wine (a little too early during our visit). But I was very happy with the pricing and the service. They have THE MOST colors I've ever seen, and some really unique paints as well. Def our new fave nail salon! Such a beautiful shop with the most amazing service. Everyone is so friendly and it's absolutely pristine inside. I've gotten my nails done by both Lisa and Ivy, both of whom have such great attention to detail and care for the work they do. They checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I'm happy with the shape, the color, the design. That's just not the case everywhere you go and I would hear complaints in other shops. I think that when you find a nail shop or specific nail artist you like then you tend to just stick with what you know but Catalina Nail Bar is absolutely worth checking out, their service and professionalism speak for themselves. I took my chances on a new nail bar and being so close to home I thought I'd give them a try. I went in hoping staff would listen to my nail concerns. I had never tried dip nails, but I was told by staff it helps protect your natural nail. Feeling hopeful, I went for it. Nail tech couldn't understand anything I said, so this wasn't helpful. The nails came out looking nice, but after 3 weeks nails started popping off and took my natural nail OFF. I did go in and speak with management who didn't nothing but argue with me. I see nothing has changed in the nail industry. These places don't deserve our business. This was my last attempt. I'm done. read more
