We called about 20 min before we wanted to get our toes done and they had an opening right away. We walked in and the place is beautiful, quiet and modern. They offered us a bottle of water and got to work. The chairs are relaxing and Vanessa and Lee were our nail experts and they both did an excellent job. They took care of our feet and treated us with respect and they were quick too! Only downfall is above the salon is a gym and the meat heads up there drop the weights from time to time so they kill with the peacefulness.

Mina did her thing! I was just visiting SD for the weekend and in desperate need of a fill! Mina not only took her time with my fill, but she provided guidance on how to start my healthy nail journey. She is super professional and provides great conversation and listened to my needs. If you visit this salon ask for Mina. She's a gem and great at her craft THANK YOU MINA!

What a sweet and amazing family run business.. very friendly, helpful, wonderful options,and reasonably priced pampering menu. I Actually got my 58 year old partner to get his first mani, pedi, and a 30 minute massage. He is very very happy!

Nina is hands down the best nail artist I've ever been to! Not only is she incredibly talented and detail-oriented, but she's also one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. Plus, she's super efficient - she did my nails so fast without sacrificing any quality! She takes her time to make sure every nail is perfect and exactly what you envisioned. Her vibe is amazing.I always leave feeling pampered and with gorgeous nails. If you're looking for a nail artist who truly cares about her clients and is amazing at what she does, Nina is your go-to!

This was the worst manicure and pedicure we have ever gotten. The nail technicians were unable to understand our requests for a different color or to fix blemishes in the nail coats before they were done. We also waited over an hour to have our nails done. The worst part of it all was when they used the drill to take off our previous nail polish and cut into our skin past our cuticles. This happened several times and is very painful. Overall the experience was horrible. Take your business elsewhere if you can. We will never be back.

I've been coming here forever and usually they are alright and usually pretty nice, it's a good price so i don't mind imperfections. This time was terrible i walked in to get a gel mani & pedi it took over three hours and they forgot about my mani, more people walked in and they made them a priority that's why it took soooo long. She made me go to the atm to get cash out to tip and wouldn't let me tip any other way . She was lucky I tipped because this was terrible she kept hitting my skin and ripping it off and wouldn't even look up to say sorry. My feet were bleeding because she was trying to scrape all the extra off and got polish everywhere. I've brought family and friends here and now I won't be coming back since the service and customer service was awful. I had to go home and scrap all the extra gel off. I've never had a worse experience getting my nails done. read more

I was visiting San Diego for the weekend from Orange County and needed a tropical-themed pedicure before my trip to Cabo next week. I called Saturday around 11 am, and they got me in at 1:30--super easy and accommodating. I showed my nail tech an inspo photo, and while she seemed a little nervous, she brought over another artist to help with the design. The first tech handled all the prep, and the second one absolutely nailed the palm trees--she even added tiny birds that weren't in the original picture! The final look turned out so cute. I've included a photo so you can see for yourself. Great teamwork, great vibe--I'd definitely come back. read more

Went in on a whim for a gel pedi and full set. Pedi was ok. I had gel on my nails and when the tech was burning me with the drill to remove it I should have taken that as a sign and stoped there. I didn't and she glued one of my nails TO my finger...not my nail. Again, I should have stopped but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. She starts to add acrylic and the nails are bumpy(can be drilled so I let it go) but there are white spots of dry powder encased in my nails and that's when I'm 100% sure this tech is new and doesn't really know what she's doing. She was sweet about it but at that point I just asked for it all to be removed. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you have a trusted nail tech, it is not a walk in spot. read more

It was quite expensive for a basic pedicure and both my daughter and I had dings in our nails when we left as well as the polish chipped within hours (regular not gel) Both of us got nipped when they were cutting cuticles. I don't recommend this shop. read more

Worst pedicures my wife and I have ever experienced. Neither tech seemed to know what they were doing and my wife received a chemical burn from the callous softener. When I went to pay they asked for cash instead of card and when I said no they asked for zelle, Venmo, or cash app until I pointed to their credit card reader directly at the front desk and they reluctantly accepted it. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Took my mother in law here to get our nails done for a wedding. They were able to squeeze us in just in time. The service was great and our nails looked amazing. Even now after 2 weeks they are still going strong. Natalie paid a lot of attention to detail and made sure that the shape of my nails were perfect. I love this nail shop! I've been coming up to Mission Beach with my family every year since I've been born, and let me tell you we love our pedicures. Over the years it's been hard to find a good place that cares and actually appreciates their customers and their quality. I can proudly say Blue Ocean does exactly that. We've been coming here as our go-to spot for about 4-5 years I believe, and we will continue to come for the years in the future! Highly recommend! read more

Emma and Lan were awesome and gave us such a wonderful experience. They brought us wine and snacks and took hours making sure we were fully satisfied with our nails before we left (which I haven't experienced at other salons). They made little corrections and asked us if we liked every detail before moving forward. Overall awesome service and my nails turned out great! Massage chairs were a huge plus too! read more

I thought basic pedicure for $28 was a good deal; however, when I showed them a picture of what I wanted- basically two different polishes, when she was done she asked me for $38. Toe nails did not turn out quite like picture I showed. They were nice and equipment was all clean and sterile. read more

I especially want to highlight Denise, who is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled when it comes to ingrown nail care. Her expertise and attention to detail make such a difference, and I always feel safe and well taken care of. Even though I've moved far away from Pacific Beach, I still happily drive one hour just to come here; and especially for Denise. That alone says everything. (.i tipped accordingly to her attitude, so she may remember me idgaf!) anyway she asked me a few question and then randomly started yelling at the poor girl in her native tounge clearly talking shit. after several awkward moments later i was told they don't have time for me. why even seat me?!? i just had to get up and walk away. truly is a shame because ara does beautiful work. good bye nailology there are plenty salons with less entitled nail techs.

I have been a client of Spa By Nikki since 2023 for eyebrow waxing services, but unfortunately the…read morescheduling reliability has become a recurring issue. Out of the nine appointments I have booked, four have been moved or rescheduled on the day of the appointment. One appointment was rescheduled twice, and another was rescheduled three separate times. The reasons given have included a flat tire, a migraine, and oversleeping. My most recent experience was especially disappointing. I intentionally booked the appointment less than 24 hours in advance, thinking that since the appointment had to be confirmed, there would be a better chance it would be honored as scheduled. Nikki confirmed the appointment at 4:00 PM the day before, but then contacted me the morning of the appointment asking to move it to a different time. Looking back, it seems that morning appointments were the ones most frequently canceled or rescheduled. While I understand that emergencies and unexpected situations can happen, the repeated pattern of same-day schedule changes over multiple years has made it difficult to rely on appointments and plan my own schedule. The quality of the eyebrow waxing service itself has been good, but professionalism also includes respecting clients' time and maintaining reliable scheduling. Unfortunately, the frequent last-minute changes have left me frustrated and unable to confidently book future appointments.

It's unfortunate how hard it is to get a quality pedicure but I'm very happy with how mine turned out. Tracy is amazing and did the design exactly how I wanted. I just called to book a mani and pedi separately and this is something I've done before and was met with attitude. I understand Fridays are busy but the tone was rude and dismissive. When I agreed to just a manicure the response was a sarcastic "thank you." First impressions are the reveal and this one said everything. If this is how repeat customers are treated over the phone it's clear long term business isn't a priority. They've lost a customer and I won't be recommending this place to anyone.

When my nail technician completed my manicure, she announced, "same!" as if she declared out-loud my powdered pearlescent nails are now magically transformed into the requested nude chrome color. I wish they would've told me upfront that this cannot be done. I would not request for anything out of the basic mani pedi here.

Was on a weekend conference when I spotted this day spa , located very close by my hotel. I called to book a 60 minute massage. They offer 30 minute and 60 minutes. The place is located on a strip mall. The front of the spa was reserved for nail clients. There were private cubicles at the back. This is where they give the massages and do eyelash /eyebrow treatments. The rooms were basic and clean. There was overhead mood lighting. Blue bath towels lined the massage tables. There was a disposable face sheet on the head rest. They give you a mini robe to wear and you can store your belongings right next to you on wall hooks. You can sometimes hear people talking outside the room because it wasn't sound proof. The therapist was very friendly and wore a mask. She asked me what areas needed more attention. I had a great full body massage. Hot towels and hot stones with warm oil were nice touches. I walked out feeling very relaxed and my muscles felt good . A great deal for a no frills, relaxing massage. Will return next time I am back in town! read more

From the moment I walked in, she made me feel comfortable, listened carefully to what I wanted, and absolutely nailed the design--literally. Her attention to detail is unmatched, and she's so gentle and precise with shaping, cuticle care, and polish application. My nails have never looked better or lasted longer. Just moved to the neighborhood and was looking for a new nail salon. Blue Ocean was recommended by a coworker of mine and I gave it a shot. This is my second time there and it was wonderful. I showed Emma a picture of what I wanted and she delivered! She knew exactly what I wanted and was very gentle the entire time. I will continue coming here! I had an excellent experience at Blue Ocean nail and spa, literally from head to toe. I went in for a pedicure and ended up getting a deluxe pedicure, a manicure, and a 60 minute massage. The level of service was superb, and I would highly recommend. read more
