I ordered jewelry from Catbird and it was the worst experience you can imagine. I paid for overnight shipping. The merchandise never arrived. Catbird doesn't include shipping info to track orders, their customer service number just says they aren't available and hangs up on you, their email service takes days to get a response, and the chat assistant responded with cryptic messages like "You must do whatever you think is best." I ultimately had to engage my credit card to get it rectified. I know people who have liked their purchases, but you're taking a huge risk here. read more

Staff was very nice and friendly! The lady who zapped on my bracelet was very nice and patient. She made sure the length was exactly how I wanted and made sure I liked the fit. The process was super easy and quick. I played volleyball the same day I got welded and it didn't break! I hope the bracelet will last a while because they are quite thin. She did say that if the bracelet breaks it'll cost $10 to fix each time. read more

I came here during a trip to NYC and spent $350 on a forever bracelet with a baby diamond. Expecting amazing quality due to price, the bracelet broke within 2 months. The company, without sharing any info verbally and expecting for people to go read the fine print on their website, made it possible to wiggle out of the warranty and their responsibility to replace due to trying to fix the bracelet on my own. Don't recommend investing any money here. If you do, pick the most affordable and cheapest options because regardless it will break! read more

I usually don't write bad reviews for places, but today's experience kind of got on my nerves. So I've been wanting to get a welded bracelet here for a while and I happened to be in NYC today and decided to go for it. I checked their website to try and make an appointment but it wasn't loading for me so I tried calling the store to see if they had any availability. I called 3 times over the course of 2 hours and none of my calls were answered. I decided to go to the store with my friend to see if they would take me as a walk-in and when I got there, I was kind of confused as to why no one answered my call because there were a lot of extra workers that weren't doing anything and were just standing around talking to each other. I went up to the desk and asked if they would take me as a walk-in for the welded bracelet and they said they would add me to the waitlist and let me know but they stop welding at 6:40. I said sure and my friend and I looked around the store and waited. I'm not sure if it was because they were waiting for people who had appointments and were running late, but the welding area wasn't full and there were plenty of workers who weren't doing anything, but when 6:40 rolled around and passed, no one let me know that they couldn't take me as a walk-in. I get that being on the waitlist means I'm not guaranteed a slot, but it really looked like they had availability and manpower and just.....didn't want to accommodate me. Maybe if the website had been working or maybe if they had answered one of my 3 calls, I could've gotten an "official" appointment, but I guess it is what it is. My friend wanted to get me a special early birthday gift and took me to Catbird to get 'zapped'. Catbird was great when it came to COVID safety precautions as they took our temperature and they had hand sanitizer present at each counter. The staff was very helpful when showing us the different bracelet options and we both opted for the 1976 bracelets (to match). When it was time for the bracelets to get welded onto our wrist, the welder let us try on the bracelets to establish the fit that we wanted. The welding process was quick and painless and she even helped us take nice photos for the gram. My friend and I want to come back each year to add a new bracelet to our wrist - it was such a cool experience! read more

The jewelry is a bit pricey (even for fine jewelry), but the what was difficult was the lack of knowledge the staff had about the products and the tone/attitude of many of the employees. My sales person knew very little about jewelry and the products I was looking for. She gave me a set of grey diamonds that had a large inclusion in them (a flaw) and I asked her for another earring without an inclusion and she literally had no idea what I was talking about. I had to explain it to her. I spent over $1k at this location and when I asked for a matchbook at the back bar where they check people out the cashier seemed irritated. There was also a tote bag with a sign on it that said "with love from NYC" tote. So I unwrapped the tote to see it and it did not say that. I asked "do you have any totes that actually say that?" To which she replied, "they all say it." I held up the bag and showed her it did not, she then said "well I don't know then" and just moved on. I understand it's a busy store, but people are paying significant amounts of money for the brand and deserve to be treated like they bring value - after all, what is a brand without customers? read more

I ordered a custom sized ring on 7/29/2021. The lead time was 4-6 weeks and I got the ring in late August of 2021. On 8/3/2023, I contacted Catbird's customer service to ask if my ring was still in warranty, because it looked as if the center diamond was damaged. They told me it was no longer under warranty. I understand they have a strict 2 year warranty policy, but I was only a few days late contacting them about it. What was frustrating was the fact that I didn't even pick up the ring until late August, so I feel it still should have been covered under their warranty. The thing is, if customer service showed some empathy and was a little nicer about the situation, it would have been fine. But, if you read through the reviews here, you will see that Catbird's customer service team is not great. I have spent thousands of dollars at Catbird over the last couple of years so I find this situation unacceptable. read more

Catbird finally comes to Manhattan!! I've been a fan of their jewelry for years and am so psyched that I can visit them without making the trek to Brooklyn. Their new location just opened (the party for their grand opening was tonight!) and currently stocks only their classic styles, and includes a welding annex for their Forever bracelets. They've said that in the spring, they'll bring the full collection of jewelry to the store, so Manhattanites can browse all the goodies without having to cross the East River. I got zapped at Catbird in mid June with my boyfriend. I chose the option of getting the sweet nothing bracelet and so did he (it was $98) and within a week mine broke . I went to get it fixed and the service was great however, the quality of the bracelet is just not there for the price. Like I said the staff is amazing, super friendly and helpful but the product is not high quality. Today about a month after getting the bracelets; my boyfriend has just had his fall off. I hate to leave a bad review but the bracelets were expensive and falsely advertised as "forever bracelets". You are better off to order a bracelet with a clasp and not one that can't be adjusted- the novelty is not worth it. read more

Honestly not impressed. I kept hearing about these zapped bracelets and thought it'd be fun to bring my sister in while she visited. We made appointments but the system is just horrid. Making an appointment really makes no sense because you have to check in and then wait in a line with people who just walked in. So we didn't get our bracelets until 40 minutes later. My daughter and I were in NYC from CA and I brought her to Catbird so that we could get "zapped" with forever bracelets as a memory of our visit. I had made reservations at the Rockefeller pop up for a Saturday. On Thursday, we were in Soho and stopped by to see if we could have it done there as a walk in appt. The staff was so friendly and fit us in right away. We both chose our bracelets and had them zapped. Later that night I had wished I had chosen my other wrist as the delicate bracelet kept getting lost under my watch and couldn't be seen. The next day we were in Rockefeller Center and stopped by the pop up shop. Once again, the staff was so sweet and moved my bracelet to the other wrist for me. I was so excited to splurge on a few of these bracelets as a gift to myself. After much thought and consideration I went to get them at the Soho location. I wanted to get them zapped but was too worried they would break easily after reading reviews, so I chose to get them with the clasps. Within a month, not one but TWO of them fell off my wrist without me noticing! I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of their products. Hannah was so sweet to take pics of us and her positive energy made us even more excited. And Emily, who zapped us (she's usually at the Williamsburg store but was in Soho on this day) was BEYOND, BEYOND, BEYOND patient! She really took her time sizing the bracelets, and was happy to make any adjustments I asked for until I was COMPLETELY satisfied. I got zapped on Monday and was so excited and happy to be there that I got 2 forever bracelets zapped on! It had been a rough week so this made me really happy. On Wednesday night, however, one of my bracelets came off on its own. I was heartbroken. I quickly realized that I was around the block from the Soho location. It was 6:57pm so I was hopeful that something would be done since I had JUST gotten it on Monday and it would take a couple of seconds to weld on. I got there precisely at 7:00pm. I know they had JUST closed but there were a bunch of employees inside and nobody talked to me, even though I was holding the bracelet in my hand and showing it to them. It's such a quick fix that I was rather disappointed that the staff seemed more in a rush to leave than to help me. Obviously, the answer is to go back, which isn't the easiest because I don't live in the area. So... I'm basically going to have to trek down to Soho to get my bracelet welded on AGAIN when it would have taken the staff 2 minutes to fix. Yes Catbird finally has a store in Manhattan! No more trekking to Williamsburg for their dainty jewelry. However, this is just their soft opening so right now they only have a few seasonal items at the store. I believe they will be launching more this coming spring and will be a full fledged store. But their space here is much more bigger and brighter than the one in Williamsburg. Looks like I will be using birthday discount treat pretty soon! read more

Just got 'zapped morning yesterday at Catbird with the sweet nothing bracelet. My friend and I were excited as we have waited a long time for this service to come back at Catbird. The covid precautions were amazing, temp checks were done upon entering and welders were at opposite ends of the store to allow social distancing and were behind a glass and wore gloves. The store itself is quaint and beautiful and everyone is just so nice and lovely. Brandy was our welder AKA jewelry architect and was AMAZING. So I've always been a lover of catbird (I got an earring as a gift for Christmas one year) but it wasn't until I finally moved to NYC and went into the soho location that I truly fell in love with the brand. The atmosphere of the store was everything I could have hoped for and the people who work there are the icing on the cake. The customer service is unmatched in the jewelry store department if you ask me.... Kind, attentive, knowledgeable, but also laid back and inviting. I didn't feel like I was being pushed to buy anything for a sales sake, I was chatting with a girlfriend who knew the ins and outs of what I was looking to buy. I currently have the entire sweet nothing collection and the clasp on my choker broke recently. I was going to go to a jewelry store to repair it but I ended up calling the catbird soho store and they were more helpful than I ever could imagine. They legit replaced my sweet nothing choker for FREE. This is service, folks. I'll legit pop in ANY time I'm downtown because of how nice the people who work there are. So, I've gotten zapped here twice and while the welders are so lovely, the rest of the staff here were.. unenthusiastic. The first time I was so excited to get matching bracelets with a friend, and I bought a mermaid charm as well. The mermaid charms are very irregular pearls, and I pointed at the dish and asked to get one as well (so she could add it to my transaction) and she just grabbed a random one, without letting me pick. Luckily I was okay with the shape and color of the one I got, but still. She also didn't offer one of those "I just got zapped" stickers and I had to awkwardly go back to the register and ask for one after being zapped. The welder however, was so sweet and helpful, and they let you know when to record, without you having to awkwardly ask/being unsure/holding your phone up forever so you don't miss it. After having my bracelets for about a month, I removed them for an MRI, and had to come back to get rewelded. Afterwards I was walking around, and stood at the ring counter for over 5 minutes, no one came to help me. I feel like at this price point, and especially when everything is behind glass, they should be much more attentive. As someone who has personally worked at much lower end retailers with better customer service standards, it really put me off and I didn't think I should have to chase someone down for assistance so I decided to just leave even though I wanted at least a ring and a charm for my necklace. Ultimately, if you want to get zapped for a tiktok I say go for it, but if you're looking to shop, Mejuri is up the block. read more
