College bar scene. Nice place get buzzed. The closest Hammond will ever get to a big city club.

The people next to us were enjoying Hookah which I had worried it would bother us, but it didn't at all. The staff were ridiculously, amazingly attentive ( and not annoyingly so). Pretty sure every person working checked on us at some point - including the owner and chef. We ordered the duck samosa, lamb kafta, fried halloumi and bacon wrapped dates. Everything was delicious. Only complaint was that they were out of the steak tips and Moroccan egg rolls, but with how everything is these days ... It's to be expected. We moved to Hammond about 2.5 years ago and Truth joins just a small handful of restaurants we have eaten at that we will return to.

Unfortunately, I was instantly disappointed from the ambiance, to the drinks, the restroom, and even the hookah itself. The drinks were priced really well, but they lacked so much flavor etc. Out of everything we ordered, the Birthday Bi* shots and bottled beer were the best items we had. The service I received from the young lady (I can't remember her name) was great, and I really enjoyed the music.

The meal starts out with flatbread that's lightly buttered, fresh and warm right out of their Mexican oven. Outstanding! Kept it on the light side for lunch, so went with the beet salad. It was perfect for what I was hungry for. You get mixed greens, roasted red and.green beets, burrato, oranges with blackberry vinaigrette dressing. A bit light on the vinaigrette, but an excellent touch..

We had already eaten lunch, so I didn't order any food, but we were able to enjoy the complimentary hot, fresh bread along with some great drinks. Of all the drinks we tried, the Golden Peach, Passion Fruit Martini, and the recommended Mini Beer Shots were my favorite. I also love that they use fresh fruit and ingredients in their beverages you can really taste the difference it made. We were able to sit at the bar that day and received great service from Ashlyn. She was very nice, personable, and attentive. She made the experience feel so welcoming and pleasant that we decided to go back the very next day with more family members. Unfortunately, our Saturday visit during the Hot August Stroll was a completely different experience. And it wasn't because of how busy things were or the events taking place. The issue was the inconsiderate service we received from our waitress, C. The service was so disappointing that I won't even go into detail, but it definitely changed my overall impression of the restaurant. Would I recommend One Thirteen? It really depends on what you're going for and, honestly, which server you happen to get. The ambiance is definitely one of the highlights. It's cute, colorful, pink, and very aesthetically pleasing. It would be a great spot for Happy Hour, birthdays, brunch, date night, or even a work gathering.

It came with a Peter jelly that was tasty and helped, but it was very thin. Service was quite slow. There were a handful of other 2 person parties inside. A couple already had food, so I'm unsure why it took the period of time it did to get served. However, when my Dish arrived, it was delicious. I ordered the Chicken Angelique, with the sauce on the side. The sauce was a high end sausage & white gravy type sauce. Paired with the DELICIOUS Grit Cake, the Chicken and the fried Sweet Potato Hash it was very good! I was not a fan of the Spinach flavors this dish. I normally love Spinach, but this was not a fav for me, so I removed it from my dish. But the dish I'm general was delicious. The husband had the Chicken Maurepas. He said it was "Okay. Nothing to brag about." I tried it and wasn't a fan. Our Server was nice, ( but again, service was slow), the location had a nice atmosphere and was pleasant.

She specifically wanted a burger from an expert Burger establishment and knows this place well and its reputation for great burgers, which is why I'm a bit disappointed to leave this review tbh Long story short, her burger that was ordered medium rare, first comes out basically well done or medium well at best. She is one of those people who would literally eat a raw burger vs an over cooked one, so she is forced to send the over cooked dry burger back asking for once again medium rare. I mentioned to the waitress to that my friend would prefer an under cooked, rather than over cooked burger. so if anything the cook could err on the side of rare. Well he sure did err on the rare side. The burger comes out the 2nd time...and its raw. No way it was even rare. I eat rare burgers, no way I would eat that. Tell me you can't cook a burger without telling me you can't cook a burger. I mean just because you miss the mark cooking it the first time dont compound the problem by sending the next one out wrong in the opposite direction. Great atmosphere and service. Very surprised about the cook being unable to cook the burger to order as requested. Several trips here that have been great so I'm going to be generous here today and give them four stars.

Awesome foods and excellent service too. A variety of dishes, creole and country too.read more
