Portions are enough for two people -2 PC Fish / 5 Wings

This is a small place but has seating on the inside. It's hidden inside a plaza. The staff were nice and everything was cooked to order. I have seen many people rave about catfish basket and finally tried them. We ordered the catfish filets and chicken wings. I loved the idea of being able to try both in a combo option. Prices are reasonable and the food was fresh, so expect to wait. I never mind waiting, if my food will be fresh. I was disappointed that we got toast instead of hush puppies but overall we enjoyed the food. I would definitely go back

The food was delicious. I got the one-piece catfish with 6 shrimp. I substituted the fries for fried okra. I was very happy that I did. I love fried okra, which has been a challenge to find in local restaurants. The portions were generous and made fresh to order. My husband ordered the 2 piece catfish with 6 shrimp and substituted the fried for potato salad. He was very satisfied with his meal. The service was great and friendly. We will definitely be back!

First time trying this spot and not my last! Went on a lunch date with my BFF and let's just say everything sounded so good. Excellent friendly customer service very patient. we decided to get a sampler plate, hush puppies, and fried gizzards. The sampler was plenty for both of us. A catfish fillet, catfish nuggets and half a bone in catfish, with okra and hush puppies all 3 catfish options tasted differently but we weren't complaining. Catfish was cooked perfectly, the okra was hot and crispy, the hush puppies were small but packed with flavor. The fried gizzards were good but a little too tough and chewy. We got sweet tea and a bottled water that tea is sweeeet!! We left stuffed but happy with leftover okra and gizzards. Great spot and quick service.

This place was difficult to locate but well worth it! SIMPLY WONDERFUL Catfish and Shrimp and southern fried okra! Fresh and hot. I highly recommend this food. The best fried catfish we have found in El Paso. Try it!

This place is hidden in a strip mall. Parking is abundant but so are potholes. 1 star for cleanliness of dining area. We were there at 11AM so it smelled like cleaning chemicals. When the food arrived, the smell magically disappeared. 1 star for price. It was around 15 bucks for four catfish fillets, fries, and toast. It also came with a drink. You can get a can of soda, a bottle of water, or their homemade sweet tea. The sweet tea came with free refills! 1 star for generous portions! Pictures don't do it justice but the fillets were almost as big as my hand. Come prepared with an appetite because you'll leave with a heavy stomach. It's hearty and filling! 1 star for the quality of the food. Everything was delicious including the sweet tea (although it's really hard to mess up sweet tea). The catfish was perfect and came out piping hot. The breading was on point. The fries weren't over cooked. 1 star for the using parchment paper between the food and the styrofoam. I'm not a big fan of styrofoam containers and watching fried food burn it's way into the styrofoam. 5/5 in my book!

100% recommend this hidden little spot!! I read some good reviews about this place and decided to make a 28min drive here from the east side. Best decision!!! Since I can only eat fish during lent on Friday's I was willing to make the drive to try this place out. I got there and placed my order to go. The male employee taking my order was very helpful and friendly while taking my order. They have so many items to choose from but again since it's lent season I had to stick with the catfish. I had ordered 2 catfish specials to go and 4 catfish fillets separately. While I was waiting I saw a customers order of fried okra and hush puppies and was convinced order some to go as well. Once my order was ready the male employee taking the orders was polite to show me my order before bagging up. I truly appreciated that gesture. I will say overall the place isn't appealing to the eye but let me say.... The food and service MAKES UP FOR IT ALL!!! The best part is that the food is not even greasy AT ALL!! Be sure to come with an appetite because those catfish pieces are most definitely not small. Everything I ordered was delicious even my mom approved of it. I think I'll be skipping long john silver now and coming here more often. Enjoy the pics :)

A handful of my friends told me this would be the best catfish joint in El Paso. I had to try it myself to see if it was true. It's located along an assuming shopping strip (actually it looks deserted, but it has a funeral home in the middle of the strip), and I almost missed it because I really didn't notice any signs initially. Just looking from the outside, it gives you an impression that it's going to be one of those dives (photo), and I hoped at least the food will be decent. Interior matched (again, photo) an unimpressive exterior, and I became somewhat skeptical about what they offered. I just ordered two pieces of catfish fillet because that's what I was after. Instead of french fries, I got some fried okra, and I was not disappointed. Instead of normal Texas toast, I got some hush puppies. All that for under $10. They gave me a bottled water for free. Wait was about 15 mins after I placed my order. I'd recommend to call ahead your order if you don't want to wait too long. There were handful of tables, and some folks were waiting for their to-go orders. Catfish was very good--fresh tasting, not too salty and not greasy, but it had enough flavor in the coating. Hush puppies were rather small but tasty. There were plenty of fried okra. I probably should've eaten half of it since the serving was generous. A friendly owner-chef came out to check on everyone to see if we were enjoying our food. I thought that was a nice touch. It must've not been too busy for him to be able to do that. We talked for a while, and I found out he has had his joint open for 12 years. That's a very good sign for this small eatery in an obscure location to survive all those years. The next time I come here I need to try their wings. Several folks were eating them, and they looked very good.

    Whole catfish!

Everything we had was very good. The menu is small ( a good thing). We didn't take pictures of the chowder or the oysters because they were in our bellies before we knew it. The beer was cold, restrooms clean, and staff attentive. We will return for round 2

Had the chance to visit during their soft opening this past weekend with one of my friends who…read moreloves oysters just as much as me, and we both agreed that it is super refreshing to see an establishment like this come to town. Adjacent to the The Tiki Room, Pearl Divers features a rotating list of oysters from different regions at $3 a pop. We had the chance to try all three oysters that they were featuring for the day and we really enjoyed the palette. The oysters featured might've been limited but they had a major punch to them with flavor. My favorite were the ones that were a bit more briny, truly small but mighty. Your oysters are brought out with the traditional crackers, hot sauce, mignonette sauce, horseradish, and lemons. It was nice for them to all folks the chance to order in any quantity as I'm sure a few folks might be trying oysters for the very first time in a landlocked city. The had a finessed menu featuring carpaccio, tartare, and about ten to fifteen dishes encompassing appetizers to main entrees. We had ordered the carpaccio but it never came out (no biggie, again it was soft opening so we came in with an open mind). Since we got there a bit later in the day, they were out of frites and I am a loyal fan of oysters, frites, and bubbles (wine at the minimum). This just means we'll have to be back. What was most important to me though was the service and how friendly the staff was. We opted to sit at the bar (as one should at an Oyster bar) and be as close to the oyster display as possible. I used to live in New Orleans for a few years so sometimes when it's busier and you're chatting away they'll shuck an extra one to you every so often to try. I'm pretty stoked to see the dining scene continuously elevating and Pearl Divers is a nice rendition. I'll be certain to come back and can't wait to see what a five-star experience is out of their soft opening phase. *** If there is one piece of feedback I'd provide is to have smaller spoons for the mignonette and forks for the oysters. The current sizes are a bit too large and can easily ruin the integrity of the oyster when making sure it's been properly separated and not intact, as well as, not being able to have the right ratio of mignonette sauce for each oyster. The spoon was constantly hitting the mouth of the condiment cup.

It became a special treat for our family while visiting our Tía in home hospice--and one of her last, most joyful bites. Food and our family's recipes are at the heart of who we are, so hearing my Tía Emma call it "magnificent" meant everything. As we were seated our waiter took 10 min to great us and then another 12 min to bring our drinks. I didn't think anything of it yet it was a precursor to the rest of our dinner. After he took our order our kids food came out in a very timely fashion but our two orders of salmon and one steak sandwich took 40 min to arrive at the table. What a ridiculous waste of my time because my sandwich was missing the fries ordered and our waiter thought nothing of it till I brought it up then he took another 10 min to bring my fries. All this while simultaneously forgetting the sauce for the salmon which also took another 10 min to bring out. The salmon was so dry it was tacky and stuck to your teeth. If you know the feeling you know it's bad. The rice that came underneath the salmon was crunchy and way undercooked. All while the waiter was like oh I can bring you free deserts for your wait all while I could only think about how I just wanted to leave. I was internally livid and exhausted but kept it to my self after seeing the owner or manager who we the guy with the white hair over at the bar enjoying a few alcoholic beverages meanwhile his restaurants service and waitstaff to the worst possible job they can. I saw the people who got the most attention and good service were all regulars sitting at the bar laughing it up with the manager/owner older guy. Why not make sure your restaurant is running smoothly and food is being delivered and prepared properly and stop trying to impress the regulars who most likely will show up either way. Any restaurant that is this unorganized and unmotivated is due to crappy management. All this and the waiter is like I'll comp you for the steak sandwich with a discount for the bad service and salmon which was a whopping $5. I don't want a discount I don't want free day old desserts I want good service and decent food. Discounts and free desserts will never fix the problem because it will always be a crutch for trashy customer service. How about stop drinking with the guests and whoop that staff into semi decent shape buy some high chairs and make sure your expo does a once over quality check on the food and time it takes to get to the table EVEN if that means stepping in and doing it yourself. The restaurant is dark the tables are sticky the whole place is very compact . Perfect and quite attractive after 5-6 wines for sure. I'm sure the food is outstanding after a few drinks as well . They gave us a $25 dollar gift card to return which if I could I'd give to the owner so he could experience the same horrible food and service we did. I wouldn't even give the gift card to someone I hated. This was one of the first times in a long time I didn't just let it slide because I understand all restaurants and people have bad days but this was exceptionally bad. If you are thinking it can't be that bad think again it absolutely can. The whole "I'm sorry we usually have awesome service and everyone loves our food it's probably just me and my family " is laughable . This isn't my first time here while visiting El Paso. The food is getting worse.
