I am a vendor and I was performing for a company Christmas party in the catfish bend event center. The client had purchased rooms for us at the Hampton but for some reason the front desk person would not give me my room. Michael, the manager was kind enough to put me in a room here, and Liz the front desk person was amazing and helpful. The rooms are really good, I'm assuming probably a lot better than the Hampton next-door, and they don't have hookers and weird drug dealers hanging out in the parking lot , so that's a plus! Very nice, upscale accommodations at the Catfish Bend. A free breakfast accompanies room reservations, and it has lots of variety, including 'made-to-order' omelettes. Also, in the lobby, a serve yourself 'coffee bar' welcomes bleary-eyed guests in the morning. (The coffee maker in our room was 'on the blink', so access to the coffee bar was most appreciated.) Great service, good room, awesome staff especially Lisa at guest services! 3 floor hotel. Small outdoor pool and hot tub. Not for alot of people 12 max. Room was clean and comfy. A bed and 3 chairs. Small gym with a fridge that had water available for guests. 21+ hotel so no noisy kids running around. Elevator didnt work all the time, they did have a repair guy come in to fix it. Elevator is a little slow so for us it was faster just to take the stairs. Coffee maker in our room and in lobby. Bottle water (smartwater) in fridge everyday. Extra room in fridge for cold snacks. They do have ice and pop/water vending on 1st and 3rd floor but no snacks. Shower was kinda odd, had to put a towel down to stop the whole floor from getting wet, small squares cut into shower for you shampoo etc. name brand amenities available in room. Forks spoons knife napkin also available at guest services for people like us who get food to go and forget silverware. Again the Staff was amazing and very helpful! Note: We didn't stay in the hotel, only stopped in for lunch. However, we wished we had stayed here. The hotel is huge, clean, and pretty darn cool for Burlington! There is a large casino, a spa, and a buffet restaurant. We had the lunch buffet, which really wasn't bad. They had plenty of meat options, a good salad bar, two kinds of soup, lots of sides, and about 15 dessert options. If we're back in Burlington anytime soon, we'll definitely stay here and check out the casino action at night. read more

When it's 0 degrees Fahrenheit outside (-18C ish) and you're stuck in SE Iowa by chance, you gotta thank the lord for a place like this. It's a giant playland for all ages since attached to the hotel is a casino, indoor and outdoor (wtf? in Burrrrlington??) water-park, arcade, go-carts, bowling alley, and a handful of restaurants and bars. The Catfish Bend Inn is a high quality (almost Vegas feel) hotel with huge rooms, nice furnishings, flat plasma TVs, fancy sliding door bathrooms with glass semi-opaque glass on outside so it provides lighting and other visual 'effects' into the room among some of the features. And it only cost $89 + tax/fees per night. When you're in this part of the country and need a place to stay for a while, this is a great option ... and you don't even have to leave the "fun city" complex to have access to food and entertainment. The biggest negative I noted was that it was kind of dead - but I'm sure pretty hopping for the city we were in - on Tues and Wed nights. And interesting was that outside the casino, most of the people I met were locals hanging out with friends, etc. Note: The other similar listing on Yelp "Catfish Bend Casinos Lc " is not the correct address any longer. PLEASE HEED THIS WARNING! My friend and I planned a girlfriend spa getaway at Catfish Bend Inn and Spa and were sorely disappointed at our decision to choose Catfish Bend as our destination. First, let me say that Lisa, the front desk clerk of the hotel is amazing, her customer service is on point, and she was willing to go above and beyond and made our stay feel very welcomed. The cleanliness of the spa could have been better, there was dust on the furniture, nails and hair on the floor, now don't get me wrong, I realize it's a spa, and there is going to be nails and hair, but ew, I'm talking about in the corners, under the furniture, etc, where NO ONE cleaned. I mean hire a cleaning crew at night, don't count on your employees to be good cleaners. Unfortunately, the spa services we booked were a total let down. We booked 2 facials, 2 massages, 2 manicures and pedicures, and a cut and color. Our first day was a facial, which was great, but the manicure and pedicure I received were simply awful. There was no nipping of the old skin, the filing of my nails was done over the skin, Will, my technician, did not put the file between the nail and the skin, so my nails, both fingers and toes were all crooked. The rough skin on my feet was never buffed away, and it was clear he was not even comfortable using the nail clipper to cut my toe nails. Now, I realize Iowa has laws against razors and 'cheese graters' on the feet, but there is no reason I should still have hard calluses after a $65 spa pedicure. The polish color was all over the skin, or not even to the end of my nail bed. For my manicure I asked for a buff, you know where they just make the nail shiny by using a four sided buffer, nope, no difference, and all he did was rub cuticle cream on my nail beds because the nails were already as short as they could be. The skin and hang nails were no different than before my manicure, so why did I pay $35? I asked Will to rebuff my nails as I washed the cuticle cream off but he had already closed down his station, said to just come back tomorrow since we had other spa services booked. Once we exited the spa I asked my friend to look at my toes, and dead skin, we were confused how this was even a pedicure. However, to avoid making Will feel uncomfortable we went to our room and called to speak to the spa manager. Marlena asked my friend and I to meet her in the lobby where she proceeded to tell me that Will is not very good with nails and this was not their first compliant, and she would refund my money?!!??! Are you serious; why on earth is Will doing nails if he can't do nails? I am paying $90 to have my toes look like my 3 year old niece did them, just to have to go someplace by my house so my feet look presentable (please see attached picture of POST PEDICURE, don't judge). At this point, my friend who has a hair appointment for the next day is now concerned that since Will cannot do nails, he will also be inept at her cut and color and shares her concern with Marlena. Marlena pauses, talks to the receptionist and asks if Sara is working tomorrow since she's great with color. Anyway, my friend's appointment is rebooked with Brittany as we were told she's an expert with color. Marlena advised she would be at the spa the following evening and to stop by so she can see the hair result. We walk to the spa somewhat hesitant for the cut and color, my friend asked me to sit by her to make sure that it looked right as the process was happening. She asked Brittany to cut her hair about Brittany's length which is about 3 inches past the shoulder. Brittany makes one clean cut in the back of her hair about 2.5 inches too short. At no point did she ask my friend if this length was okay before cutting her hair. My friend didn't realize how short was until I gestured to look in the mirror. Then the color comes (see pictures for yourself). I mean these colors are nothing alike, where is the gradient color, the caramel, the blonde, nope just Lady Clarol #474 - Brunette. I noticed the darkness of the hair compared to the balayage as the color was setting. I pointed it out to my friend as she was sitting there and she said nah, it's just because it's wet and has the color in it, let's wait until its done. Brittany 'washes' her hair (later my friend re-rinses her hair ad stains the bathroom towel, like who can't even shampoo hair) and blows it a bit. At this point the realization is that her hair is too short, is not even the correct color, and the haircut is not even, there were long strands intermixed with the cut hair, what?! So we go back to our room fuming and Marlena stops us to ask how everything went. My friend explained the situation, Marlena agrees that this is nothing like the 15 pictures we showed Brittany and comps the cut and color. She also mentions that she has confidence in her staff even though this color was NOTHING like the request.. Tell me, what does a comp do? read more

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Catfish Bend Inn & Spa. It is one of the two hotels that are part of the Pzazz resort complex. The Catfish Bend Inn caters to adults; as such is was peacefully quiet. The rooms are ample in size and nicely appointed. The bed provided a comfortable night's sleep. What we particularly liked was the bathroom which is a large wet room; it's size was almost spa-like. The staff was very helpful and did a wonderful job catering to the guests. Because the hotel pool was closed, we were provided passes to Huck's Harbor Water Park If you're looking for a nice relaxing stay at a quiet, cozy hotel, give the Catfish Bend Inn at try. If you happen to find yourself in Burlington, Iowa, and requiring lodging for the evening, this is the place to stay. My brother, who lives in Burlington, says this is the fanciest hotel in town. It is definitely more appealing than the rather pedestrian looking Best Western and Holiday Inn hotels located nearby. The rooms have a spacious sleeping area with large comfortable beds and chairs, and a huge bathroom with modern fixtures and a huge glass enclosed shower stall with one of those oversized rainfall shower heads. There is a LCD TV and a mini refrigerator and coffee maker. The rooms look like they were remodeled recently and feature modern dark furniture. There is a small fitness center that is fully equipped with the standard machines and free weights, and an outdoor swimming pool which I wasn't able to use when I visited last winter. This is part of a large complex including a spa, conference center, and casino. There is also a bowling alley, bar, and arcade accessible via an indoor walkway. The free breakfast was pretty minimal - donuts, yogurt, and coffee. That's a small quibble. So, overall five stars to Catfish Bend. read more

Nice place... I've never stayed in the hotel but my friends really like it. The casino makes for a fun day trip and Fun City has nice bowling lanes and water slides. I've also used the spa to get a massage and the person working on me did a good job. It's clean, private, and very professional. read more

I have been visiting my family in Burlington for years, but only just recently stayed at the Catfish. First off... WOAH. How in the world did this place manage to pop up out of nowhere? It's HUGE, clean, fancy, and pretty lively. The casino was BUMPIN' on Saturday night - shockingly it was the 1st time I've set foot in a casino so that was pretty cool for me. Drinks were cheap. The arcade room is awesome as is the general bar scene. Definitely check that out. We had a few qualms to note - the indoor waterpark was gross, plain and simple. It smelled over-chlorinated and the hot tub was rampant with screaming children. Can there be some rules/order established so that adults/couples can enjoy this facility too? It's pretty impressive, just needs some freshening up. Also, the walls are terribly thin between rooms. Our last night was spent at the mercy of an extremely intoxicated group of people running through our halls and making camp in the adjacent room. Ugh. It definitely deserves a high rating because this is Burlington, Iowa, and places this fancy are rare there. read more

This hotel is for those 21 and over only. The rooms were very clean, the bed was comfy, and the room temperature was good. The shower head was great because it is about 6' 3" off the ground. Great for taller people. Our room included a mini-fridge. The only negative we had was noise in the morning. We could hear people using the ice machine and vending machine even with our door shut. Also, the heater kicked on loudly. You can control exact temperature in the room through central air/heat, which is great. Neutrals - There is a radio in the room that was nice, but its iPod hookup didn't work. There is a flat-screen TV, but no HD stations. This was a great room for the money! Best hotel deal anywhere. Large, clean, spacious rooms that are modern and stylish. The adjacent casino, restaurants and entertainment makes this a destination hotel even in a small city like Burlington. I have stayed there at least a dozen times and have enjoyed it every time. Better than most hotels in Las Vegas. Try the buffet breakfast if it is still offered. A coupon from the desk reduces the price to around $4. This place can't be beat for under $100. My only fear is that it will become a victim to the slow economy. read more

The best value for your money in Burlington! The Catfish Bend Inn in perfect one stop shop for entertainment. The rooms are beautiful at very low rates. I stayed in a corner suite, the room was spotless, comfortable, and perfect for an anniversary weekend. If you get bored of the room, you can sneak down to take advantage of the Casino, the Spa, or one of the many restaurants on site. I honestly don't know why you'd want to stay anywhere else! read more

I KNOW I left on the nightstand and they keep saying I must have dropped it on my way out!!!! They are always trying to get in your room! I was taking a shower at 7:30AM and came right in!!!! Extremely upset with the salon! I tried over a week ago to get in for a manicure on a Sunday and they informed me there wasn't anyone working to do it.. I made an appointment for the following Sunday since this is my ONLY day off and when I got there the only person doing manicures was a man named Will (nice guy) that obviously is not certified.. He was not comfortable doing regular clean up of cuticles and extra skin, said it was bad for you and it will make your cuticles hard..I told him that was the main reason I get manicures, not to pay 35$ for someone to just paint my nails! Wasted half my ONLY day off because of this ridiculous joke of a place!! They need to hire only qualified technicians and not try and scam people out of money for a salon quality manicure!!! I can't say enough good things about my stay. We showed up way before check in and had a great conversation with the desk clerk. She checked with house keeping and got us into a BEAUTIFUL room. It was very modern and expensively decorated. The bed was so soft and comfortable. The room was also spotless. The list of tv channels was almost endless instead of the usual 10 channels available at most hotels. We were given free drink and free breakfast coupons. I don't gamble but I enjoy watching my wife play black jack. I was thankful for the wallet friendly 5 dollar tables in the side room. We were having a good time having drinks and people watching when I noticed how late it was. On the way back to the room I asked the front desk for a late check out which they happily agreed to.
