I have been wanting to check out this Brewery for sometime as it is housed in the basement of The Lincoln Hotel which I love! The decor of this brewery is inviting, cozy fireplace, really just lovely. I had a delicious chocolate coconut martini that quite honestly was going to be too much it was delicious. My husband had an expresso martini and my friend an IPA and both enjoyed their Drinks. I was really in the mood for some good old nachos, hmm I would not call these nachos. We went on July 4th so I am not sure if that is why our food was terrible. Myself, my husband and our 3 kids. We ordered the duckfat cornbread, which was gross, and after seeing other reviews ours didn't even come with the side of butter. So for $12 we only got the 3 gross pieces of bread, we told our waitress and she was like ya I hate that cornbread too. For our dinners my husband ordered the fish and chips $24 He only got 1 small piece of fish and I got a run of the mill burger for $19. The kicker was our kids ordered pasta and were told it had not been prepared yet, it was 630p and it's pasta noodles like what??!! Seems like a cash grab seeing as the other "kids menu" items are $2-$4 more. The game room was nice for the kids, the event space and decor were definitely on point. Our server was almost non existent forgot things, and then just dropped the check without asking if we wanted dessert or any other drinks (we did). No toilet paper in the bathrooms. My friend lives above and thought it would be fun to meet up for drinks and dinner. Was not about to make a reservation on line but when I arrived they asked if I had a reservation. It was not busy but there were reserved signs on various tables. Hmm. I tried We got it and had an enjoyable meal. The lager was better than I expected and our meal was quite enjoyable. Though my broccoli mushroom was a bit heavy on broccoli for my liking. They did a great job decorating for the holidays which made it nice to sit an enjoy. A few friends and I came here for dinner bc they were staying at the Lincoln, and they heard it was good. I think the biggest thing this restaurant has going for it is the ambiance. It's a really nice space that looks like the kind of place you'd go to celebrate something, and there is a cool game room in the back. The staff seemed nice as well. I got a nonalcoholic beer which was tasty. But the food could be better. Our table shared everything. - The veggie burger and the cooked veggies (+$4 to swap with fries) was actually quite tasty, I would recommend it. - The poutine was overwhelmed by the gravy which was salty; the chunks of duck meat and cheese curds were lost in sauce. - The scallop scampi also had a lot of "sauce" - noodles in a bath of salty and garlicky oil. The scallops were just slightly overcooked (not rubbery but not melt in mouth the way properly cooked scallops are). My friend who never had scallops before thought they tasted like potatoes. - The whoopie pie flight was just way way too sweet. Flavors we think were plain sugar?, butterscotch, strawberry, and coffee? (the latter being the best). But yeah, I wouldn't recommend getting this. You can get much better whoopie pies elsewhere. read more

Batson always hits a 10 at Christmas time with the decorations!! The staff was very accommodating with a last minute walk in and a high chair for the baby!! Margaritas were amazing as was the Margarita Pizza and Truffle Fries. Gorgeous front lobby!! Plenty of parking. Only drawback was no changing tables in the bathrooms. I've heard from friends that it can be a hit or miss and in the past their service was poor. My experience was great overall this time around. I went with the venison nachos, haddock tacos, and cheesecake for dessert. All was tasty and the service was good. The layout is interesting with lots of open space in the center but the decorations around Christmas and Thanksgiving are spectacular. One small thing, the light could maybe be dimmed a bit since it can be harsh in certain areas while you're eating. read more

I came here with my mother and sister-in law and the ambiance was great. Whoever decorated the place and selected the music did a great job. The waitress we had was nice, polite, and timely with our order. The food we ordered was underwhelmingly average. The Duckfat cornbread had the strangest aftertaste and was least enjoyable part of my meal. I ordered a mocktail which was tasty. Lastly I had their Batson burger which looked good but had no flavor. It didn't have any seasonings on the meat and the bacon was maybe a half piece that was burnt. As for my mother and sister-in laws meals, they had gotten a pizza each but there was so much arugula on both the server could hardly tell which pizza was which. It's located in the lower level of the newly renovated Lincoln Mill in Biddeford, and the space itself is absolutely stunning. On this visit, we decided to order takeout, but honestly, I wish we had eaten in because the space is so gorgeous, and I can tell it's the kind of place you'd want to experience firsthand. That being said, the food was amazing! Here's what we tried: Duck Fat Cornbread ($12) - First off, the cornbread was incredible. It's made with duck fat, which makes it rich and incredibly moist, and it's served with hot honey and bourbon maple butter, which is just the right balance of sweet and savory. It was the perfect start to our meal. Pepperoni Pizza ($20) - This pizza was delicious! It came with a crispy crust topped with pepperoni, parmesan, mozzarella, and a sprinkle of thyme. The hot honey drizzle added a nice kick of sweetness that paired perfectly with the savory flavors. Definitely a solid choice if you're in the mood for pizza. The Garden Salad was fresh and packed with flavor. It had romaine, snap peas, asparagus, radish, carrot, and cucumber, and the green goddess dressing brought everything together perfectly. The crumbled cojita cheese was a nice touch and added a bit of tanginess to the mix. Overall, the food was fantastic. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. But let's be real, the decor is what truly blew me away. The space itself is so well-designed, with lots of lush plants, cool lighting, and an atmosphere that makes you want to settle in and enjoy your meal. My friends took me here for a night out. It has been years since I've been to Biddeford. I really like what has been done with the city! My friends wanted me to see the amazing Christmas decorations but Batson had already taken them down. I love all animals, so I made a point to not look at all the stuffed animal decor. I got the fish tacos - very good! The Spanish-type rice was an odd side dish. My friend enjoyed the sweet corn bread and tomato soup. Her husband ordered a pizza. This is located in a really cool spot and I thought, while descending the stairs, "This is a great place for a party or event." Many nooks and spots to sit and socialize. The service was good, too. I went mid afternoon on a Sunday...had some free time in Biddeford/Saco area so I thought I would give it a try. My friend and I started with a drink in the hotel lobby bar. Beautiful decor, very spacious, TONS of seating of every kind...bar stools, couches, arm chairs...you name it...there is a comfortable and stylish place to have a drink. We decided to sit at the bar. I tried an old fashion (bourbon) cocktail. It was perfectly made, right down to the large single ice cube, perfectly sized orange peel, and a Luxor cherry. We then continued down to the distillery. Another beautiful spaces, and walked through several beautiful spaces to get to the distillery. Huge bar, great lighting. We were a little hungry so we shared an order or corn bread and a short rib steak and cheese sandwich. Plenty for the 2 of us to share. Both were excellent. I wish I took pics! I had great service when i needed to move my reservation from 12/23 to 12/30. Very courteous and helpful phone service. The place looked gorgeous when we arrived. Then it went downhill. After being seated our server let us know they were out of 3 appetizers and 2 dinner options. Only 1 dessert option available and as for the beverages, wow, I've never seen a place with more empty kegs. After being told they were out of 2 or 3 house beer option we were also told there were no outside beer offerings available either. Tried to order a fruit juice spitzer and were told those dispensers were disconnected also. On 12/30. The day before what could be a VERY busy day/night for them!! Extremely disappointing to have so little available to us. WE made the most of our night out but not sure i'll go back. read more

I'm so glad we got to have dinner at Batson River! It's such a an adorable place, so trendy, so delicious and had staff that was more than helpful!! Our waitress was super proud of the menu and the food options and gave us a quick rundown of the food, drinks and her favorites. She answered questions and was able to remember our order perfectly without writing anything down (this typically bothers me because something is usually wrong) but our party of 5 with special requests for everything came out as ordered!! The poutine was good, the cornbread amaze-balls! The haddock chowder was so good, the haddock taco perfection and so many other delicious things!! Our drinks were great!! Biddeford is not Portland but it does have its share of worth while places to try & Batson River is one of them. In a nut shell my 1st impression is: 1.The atmosphere is the bomb......luv it! Man the bar is huge. 2. Our bartender was super friendly. 3. The menu has a well rounded selection of tasty appetizers, pizzas, soup/salads, burgers, sandwiches & tacos. 4. The craft beer selection is very good. I recommend the Baltic Porter! 5. The cocktail list has some interesting selections. I tried the Langsford Bourbon Smash & the wife got the Clock Farm Cosmo... both were very tasty. But this is where I give a thumbs down is that paying $16 a piece for these drinks & having them do measured pours is a cheap look for such a nice place. Room for improvement! 6. For food we ordered the Smoked Haddock Chowder & Blackened Haddock Caesar. Both were very good especially the chowder which is probably the best seafood chowder I can recall in recent memory. What a gem in the heart of Biddeford! The ambiance is as amazing as the food. We went on a Saturday evening. There was a wait, but it was made so much easier by going to the game room, where you can order drinks and appetizers while playing games like shuffleboard, pinball, scrabble, Yahtzee and more! We didn't but the wait was only a 1/2 hour so we went to the hotel lobby and had a cocktail. The food is delicious. I had the salmon with sweet potato mash. My niece got the 1/2 chicken & said it was good. My sis got the steak and was not impressed, it was over cooked. The churros!!!! A MUST. Absolute sweet, gooey perfection. The whoopie pies were dry & unforgettable. Service is very slow. We waited over an hour for our meals but didn't really mind, we were having fun. I will be back over & over!!! read more

This location in Biddeford was beautiful! From the decor, to the table settings and even the bathrooms! At first I was a little worried my group was underdressed in jeans and t-shirts but after seeing others walk in dressed the same I realized we were dressed fine. The food was delicious, everyone in my party of 16 enjoyed their meal. I will say the service was a bit slow...it took about 75 minutes to get our food once we put our order in...and the restaurant was only half full. The good- Very nice ambiance and feels quite upscale. Service was good. Seated quickly on a Saturday night. The bad- food quality didn't come close to the setting. Two lobster rolls ordered with butter at $38 a piece. Arrived without butter. They were not generous with the filling and only came with some lukewarm warm fries and a pickle. Third person in our party had the marinara pizza. Stated it was terrible. We have been for drinks multiple times and always said that we need to come back to eat. We are not saying that any more. I come to visit often for dinner & brunch! They have seasonal specials, happy hour and a game room! The aesthetic of the restaurant is very laid back and cozy. They have a variety of seating options & the wait is never too long. Feel free to enjoy a cocktail in the Lincoln lounge while you wait to be seated! The service differs each visit and there's always new servers. The food is consistently delicious and made with care! I recommend the specialty cocktails or a good dirty martini- they have good locals drafts on tap & rotating seasonal. Highly recommend the pizzas, cajon fries & the scallop entre! The restaurant is downstairs at Lincoln Hotel and is gorgeous! No reservations, but when on your way in, you can call to get on their waitlist. I started with a great drink, Garden party, but cocktail prices are $16! This is Biddeford and not Boston, right??! I switched to wine after this which was slightly better priced. I just have a hard time paying almost as much for a drink as I am for my meal. We had the fried Brussel sprouts which were amazing and so flavorful. For dinner, I had short rib tacos. I really expected these to have more flavor than they did. The meat was cooked well, but I felt that it needed more salsa and pickled cabbage to give it some more acidity. The accompanying black beans were completely flavorless. The service was quick once we ordered. I would try it again to see if things are better with a different entree. read more

Yowza! Don't let the reviews of the upscale new boutique hotel and its main restaurant here scare you; there is no pretensions at this stunning brewery and restaurant. No detail was spared in its alluring decor set against the bricks of this old factory building. It was Aaron the bartenders first night on the job and he did fabulous! Friendly and knowledgeable and honest in his learning curve. We had pizza and fish tacos at the bar, as well as a selection of drinks. Everything was delicious. Go early and enjoy a drink in the hotel lobby; you've never seen anything like it, I promise. Plenty of seating downstairs at Batson, we went without a reservation. I stopped by Batson River in Biddeford for food and drink recently. The place is located on the bottom floor of The Lincoln Hotel. The place was extremely busy on a Saturday night with over an hour wait for a table. I headed straight for the bar and found an open seat, no wait. The bartender promptly took my drink order. It was happy hour when drafts, ciders, wines were $5 and a few snacks were $5 each. I went with the happy hour Coffee Porter, which was a dark brew with freshly roasted coffee beans. I loved the flavor of coffee and beer together. The pizzas here are popular here, but I decided to go with the Batson Burger ($18 plus tax) served with fries (I opted for Cajun fries). The burger and fries came out in about 20 minutes after ordering. The Batson Burger is a double smash burger with lots of thick American cheese, crisp bacon, lettuce, boursin, onions, on a thick soft toasted brioche bun. The golden fries with covered in salty spicy Cajun seasoning, ketchup and pickle spear in the side. I enjoyed my tasty and very filling burger and fries with the Coffee Porter and an ice water. I had no room for more food and got the check promptly. The check came out to $24.84 with tax and before tip. There was also a QR code on the check which I scanned and paid the check digitally via Toast, easy and convenient for me and for the very busy bartender.  Overall, I like this place for the beer, food, and lively atmosphere. There was rock music blasting over the speakers. The service at the bar was on point and I received my drinks quickly and food served by a kitchen runner in timely order. The bartender checked up on each customer sitting at the bar several times. Besides the long bar with seating and deer heads, they also have TVs throughout the place, antiques and classic decor, a fireplace with comfy seating nearby, 7 private toliets (with vacant & occupied locks) and a game room with more comfortable seating, TVs and pinball machines. read more

Our greeting was good, prompt. Very friendly waitress. Limited brunch menu and offerings had a southern flair. 1st misstep was the coffee. It was very weak and cold. I drink it black, and it was still cold. You have to order the beinets and the grilled corn bread. Exceptional starters for brunch. The bloody Mary was excellent, too. I ordered the eggs Benedict with the ham. The eggs were not presented on a normal English muffin; it seemed as though more Iike a thick biscuit or maybe a crumpet. I did not care for it. And the eggs were slightly overcooked; I like the yolk to be running into the hollandaise. And the portion on the hollandaise could have been more generous. Absolutely loved the decor (they were decorated for the Holidays), the beer was tasty (did a flight to taste several offerings), food very good and reasonably priced. The charcuterie was large & had a good variety of items on it Salmon and Lobster Mac & Cheese were winners too! Rachel, our server, was very helpful and attentive. Will return for certain! read more
