I bought a BuyWithMe voucher to see Cathy for a Brazilian blowout & cut at a great discount. This wasn't my first go-around with the Brazilian but I was disappointed with my last treatment and was looking for something better. Other friends of mine had great success with the treatment so I knew it could be done! I'll admit it was a little bit of a hassle trying to make an appointment but after 3 or 4 messages back and forth Cathy was able to get me in prior to my big birthday weekend in LA. My first impression of the salon was average. It was small, no one was there handing out champagne, and I don't think there was a receptionist. Hmmm... But as soon as Cathy came out to greet me (on time!) my reservations ended. She was professional, personable, and expressed concern about my comfort every step of the way. Her method was a little different than what I had before, but it turned out WAY better than my previous treatment. She also fixed this weird ledge in one of my grown out layers with a good cut so my hair fell beautifully. If you have researched the Brazilian blowout at all, you should know it does NOT make your hair straight. It does eliminate frizz and smooth the cuticle to make your hair look healthier with fewer fly-aways. It makes straightening with a blow dryer or flat iron way easier, too. It's been about 4 weeks since my treatment and I am still very pleased - it looks better than my last treatment did the first week. I would definitely recommend Cathy to my friends and will be back soon to see her for a touch up. She gives great discounts for return visits too! I found Cathee with a groupon for the hair smoothing keratine treatment. I immediately clicked with her she's great! If you use the right shampoo and take care of it, it lasts forever! I found the deal through Groupon and after she gave me an appointment for a Saturday at 9.30 am, she sent me a confirmation 3 days before for an at 11 am apt which I confirmed. The morning of the appointment, I woke up so early, drove all the way to Gilbert to drop my baby off at a friend's house and on my way back to Scottsdale , 20 min before the appointment, she sends me text saying that I was booked for 9.30 am , there is nothing she can do about it now and even had the audacity to call me and blame me for not picking up the phone claiming my phone was off, and I'm the one who should have said something about the appointment at 9.30 am. I told her that it caused me a major inconvenience and her arrogant sarcastic response was "  well, it's an inconvenience for me actually!! I was sitting and making no money " although she was the one who confirmed a wrong time. I'm flabbergasted by her unprofessional behavior but so glad this happened. Cathee is a wizard with haircuts and color. I noticed a few negative reviews, which all seem to center around Groupon-generated expectations. I looked up the Groupon, and the stats at the time I viewed it were 170 sold, of which 94% recommend it. Consider that for what it's worth. My experience with Cathee cutting (and later, coloring) my hair stretches back decades before Groupon was a thing. From my first appointment with her and ever afterward, she showed me she really understands how to make my thin, temperamental, weak and naturally-wavy hair look its best. Since I started going to Cathee, I've lived in several different locations around the country, but I always find my way back to Cathee when it's time to refresh my hair. I am not the only one who travels far for Cathee's expertise; she's had clients return from Australia to get their hair done. Yeah, this is Scottsdale, so that plays a role, but not for me. I've tried other stylists but no one has held a candle to what Cathee does for my hair. I highly recommend Cathee to anyone who has any wave or curl in their hair, and who has had unsatisfactory haircuts elsewhere. I also recommend her coloring service; she creates a really natural-looking color for me which doesn't trash my hair and fools even my close relatives. For the Groupon groupies, consider that Cathee's expertise is valuable at any price, but if you're getting a bargain, be grateful, and don't expect any chemical to remain in your hair for months. read more

I found Cathee through a Groupon for a Keratin treatment a few months ago--I've been seeing her ever since! I've never had a problem booking an appointment or getting in touch with her, in fact, she's squeezed me into her super busy schedule when I had a "hair emergency." I'm growing out a short "do" and that's always rocky, but she's helped me through the worst of it and I love my hair again. The Keratin treatments have kept it smooth and manageable, as promised. (Note: A Keratin treatment is NOT a straightening treatment! If that's what you're expecting you'll be disappointed. It smooths the hair and removes frizz, making it super easy to style.) I found her on groupon for the keratine treatment and when I made the appointment i checked with her to see how long it will last. to make an appointment she never picks up and send voicemails at her own pace. the voice mail that she sends will be so mesmerising that you will surely fall for the service. she only works to her schedule if it is a groupon. she promised it will last for atleast 3-4 months and she said she will suggest me products when i come to the salon. The service went on pretty smooth and the output was very satisfying. She tried to sell her products but I made a note of what she suggested and bought my own products keeping in mind it was sulphate free. to be extra carefull i did buy some really expensive organic shampoo and conditioner because I dint want the treatment to go a waste. When i washed my hair after 5 days, the straightening treatment completely disappeared. I was so mad at her and myself . When i called back she said , didnt i ask you to use the shampoo and conditioner that i suggested. She was so rude the second time and it sounded as though she doesnt care once she got the money. Very dissappointed. I had brazilian done end of June with Cathee, through a groupon. I've had several brazilians done before, all which lasted 2 to 3 months. Cathee said her treatment would last 4 months, so I was excited. BUT it did not even last more than a week after I had the brazilian done with Cathee. Not as advertised. She needs to take off the word Keratin and call in a Blowout. She claims the treatment should last 12 weeks, mine lasted two weeks and yes, I used the correct shampoo and conditioner. She is a nice lady but this is not a true Keratin treatment. A true Keratin treatment takes up to 3 hours and i was there less than 45 mins. Very disappointed. read more

Bought the Brazillian blowout on Groupon. It was advertised to make curly hair straight for 6 weeks minimum even after washing. It took almost 4 hours to do my hair. It also was supposed to include a cut. The cut was uneven and terrible. My hair was straight, but kind of fuzzy on the ends. My mom finished the ends later with a flat iron and it looked good. I waited 3 days to rinse, not wash it as I was told. It went all the way back to as curly as it was to begin with. Called Cathee and she said she had a better product and it would be in in a few weeks. This was June. Finally in Sept. got a new appointment. On my way to my 1:00 appt. she called me to ask where I was. She said she changed it to noon per my request. I had requested to change it but she left me a message saying no she wanted to leave it at 1. She repeated 1:00 at least 6 times in the message. She said she never said that and I had to miss my appointment because she scheduled another at 3 and would not have time for me. She also was short and rude with me. She called back later after I played her message back into her own message as she would not answer her phone. She then asked if I wanted to reschedule?? I had to take the day off of work twice and still have curly hair and am out $150. I will be requesting a refund from Groupon and start a dispute with my credit card company. She did not handle the professionally at all in my opinion and I will not be returning or recommending her to anyone. read more
