After all the excitement has wind down, I sat in front of my computer and started searching for an insurance company. I first tried Geico and progressive, but I got overwhelmed when it asked me to choose my coverage. I mean, I don't even know what "liability" or" deductible" even mean, how am I suppose to know what kind of coverages I need. Then my friend was like, "you should get an insurance agent locally so that you have someone to answer your questions". Therefore I googled insurance agent near where I live. About a phone call and a day later I ended up having an appointment with my lovely agent Jeanie at her office on Bel Red road. Although I speaks English fluently, but my first language is Chinese, I was super confused when it comes to insurance terms. Luckily, her staff speaks Chinese was able to explain terminology in Chinese as well. When I first arrived, I didn't feel pushed to buy anything at all. There was just casual chatting, they all seems super nice and genial. They offered me coffee and tea and chocolate. I truly feel like I was treated as a friend. The most amazing part is that, American family insurance has the CHEAPEST rates for first time car buyers. Jeanie told me whether you just landed from another country, or you are buying your first car in your life, their company don't treat you as someone who has no insurance history. I mean Geico's quote for me was over $300 a month, even state farm's quote was $250. That's just not something a fresh out of college student can afford right now. My overall experience with my agent has been amazing so far. They are always fast at answer my emails, and address any concerns I may have. I will definitely come back and update more of my experience in the future. And i would definitely recommend her to my friends and family.

It was completely their mistake and the owner of the agency never would take our call. They put it on a more junior employee to deal with it. We no longer use them because they do not follow good business practices.
