Been trying to reach them to purchase a puppy, but no one answers. I leave messages and get no response. Does this place actually exist??

She had been losing weight, and the vet said it was because her teeth hurt. The vet ended up removing two of her teeth and cleaning the others. At the follow up, my cat still hadn't gained weight. The vets response was to have another follow up in six months and to try to get her to eat more, which obviously wasn't helpful at all. I got a second opinion somewhere else. The vet commented that the state of my cat's teeth was surprising considering her recent dental work, so banfield didn't even do a good job cleaning her teeth. TLDR: If your pet isn't sick and just needs shots, banfield in Germantown is probably fine. However if they need a teeth cleaning or to diagnose a sickness, I wouldn't recommend it.

I had a 'complimentary' initial visit which ended up with me signing a year welness plan, and the complimentary visit ended up being one of the two annual comprehensive visits, yet they did not do any bloodwork or anything. I had to point this out. After my cat died and after dealing with the rudeness of the staff, I started noticing inconsistencies in my billing. If you have a healthy pet, this may be worthwhile but keep an eagle eye on the billing, I honestly feel cheated. I am not happy with the diagnosis of my sick cat either. The last time i was there they incorrectly weight my sick cat and rudely chased me out, saying to come back in 2 weeks. My cat did not eat or drink for several days and collapsed unresponsive the evening before. I ended up going to another Banfield location and the vet there agreed with me that she was in bad condition and recommended putting her down asap. He also explaing the xrays and diagnostics and pointed out the seriousness of her ailments. This was not done at the Germantown office. Do not trust these people. I never received a sympathy card for me deceased cat either, and I ended up paying almost $1,500 for less than 3 months. Later communication with Germantown, made me feel guilty and there was nothing wrong with her and I should have taken a video as proof, regardless of what the vet at the other location said.. No accountability. She died the next day. It's been almost a year since, I am finally giving this review. I would never trust these people. If you do get a wellness plan here, then keep a sharp eye on all the plan 'included' services, as some are questionable and I doubt they were actually performed.

The new veterinarian appears uncomfortable around dogs and does not seem to handle them with confidence or compassion. What once felt like a trustworthy and caring practice now feels more focused on profit than pets. If your dog is healthy and easygoing, you might still receive decent treatment. However, if your dog has any health or behavioral challenges, be prepared for a lack of empathy and support. The new management does not uphold the same standard of care. *Update* I used to think I was receiving good care at this vet, but after recently switching to a new veterinary clinic, I realized the service here was actually quite basic. The level of support, communication, and genuine care I'm now receiving makes it clear how much was lacking at this practice. What's even more disappointing is that the new vet provides significantly better care--and at a much more affordable price. It's frustrating to look back and realize I was overpaying for subpar service. I've lowered my rating because I no longer believe this clinic offers the quality or value pet owners should expect. I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone looking for attentive, informative, and compassionate care.

Vlada provided me some goodies to get us going, and because of traffic, it took over 4 hours to get home. She slept and just looked around - no crying, no problems. She is 7 months old today (10/19/25), and is PRECIOUS. I am NOT a cat person - I am a dog person, but I have fallen hard for my Ellie. We experienced ZERO of the horror stories I have heard about kittens and cats. No accidents - she was already litter box trained. No scratching on furniture - she was scratch post trained but she's not really a big scratcher. She has the sweetest meow when she wants something, but it's never annoying or too often. She loves going "outside" (on a leash of course - she is completely an indoor cat) where we go to the mailbox and I brush her. She loves going "bye bye" in her cat backpack - she travels beautifully. Not once has she bitten or scratched - not even accidentally. She is definitely not a lap cat - she will not even sit in my lap for a moment, but she loves being held and kissed and snuggled as I am walking around. She likes to be near us, but she is never overbearing or clingy. A funny quirk: she is very hot natured - she loves being cool so she sits in front of air vents sometimes and has no interest in being anywhere near or on a blanket. Thank goodness we have hardwood and ceramic tile flooring for her! I have taught her to sit and come. And her favorite play includes wand toys and those little 1 inch pom balls. She loves chasing them all around the house, and she even brings them back to me to throw again. Also, Vlada was excellent to work with. And, my Ellie is perfectly healthy. We had her spayed last month and she recovered wonderfully.

My husband and I brought home our kitten in May of 2023 at just over three months old, and our lives changed for the best. He is the friendliest, sweetest, and cutest cat my husband and I, as well as our friends, family, and vet have ever seen. Both of us grew up with cats, but this one is different -- all in the best ways! He loves to play, cuddle, and socialize with our guests. He has so much personality for such a small creature! We are constantly laughing at his antics. Vlada was so easy to work with, communicative, prepped us for bringing him home well, and has been a joy to stay in touch with over the years. We can't imagine our lives without our sweet boy and are grateful to Catnificent Cattery! We felt the adoption process was professional, safe and healthy for the kitten and us, and have been honored to raise him and make him part of our family.

During my visit, I fell in love with a fluffy little girl. I had already decided to buy her, but I wanted to follow the basic steps that responsible owners recommend. I asked about her vaccinations and about the health testing of the parents. The staff told me that all of their puppies come from small local families here in Virginia, that the families vaccinate before shipment, and that they only breed from healthy parents. I felt reassured and excited. To be safe, I asked to see her paperwork. I was told earlier that everything was local, so this was supposed to be a simple confirmation. Instead, the papers said she was bred in Missouri. I asked the salesperson how Missouri counted as "local to Virginia" and why he had told me the exact opposite. He said he got confused. That explanation made no sense. I pointed out that he had spoken with confidence about all of their puppies coming from local families, and yet the paperwork showed something completely different. At that point, I could not trust a single thing I had been told. If you are thinking about buying a puppy from here, look at the paperwork yourself before you make any decision. Do not rely on what the staff tells you. My experience showed me that what they say and what is written on the documents are two very different things.

We were consistently impressed with their communication and willingness to provide conservative treatment recommendations. The pricing for checkups, procedures, and in-house meds is about on-par with the average practice in my opinion. We also previously used their boarding/pet resort services when they were still offered and we were pleased with that as well. We never had any issues scheduling appointments, including up to the day we were scheduled to fly out. Our older dog has quite a few health eccentricities and we've always received compassionate, informed care from the team at GV. We've mostly seen Dr. Robin and Dr. Rizol, but the other docs have also been great in our experiences. We have been really impressed with the honesty of the practice: numerous times this year, we had to call for emergency appointments (a $75 emergency fee when no regular slots are available); however, at least two times we received a call back informing us that there was a last minute cancellation and that we would not have to pay the extra fee. Dr. Robin worked with us to make sure our dogs were ready for their big move by going through the prescription list, providing refills, and prescribing a mild sedative to help with our dogs' travel anxieties. When we met with our new vet across the country, they were impressed with the detailed records transferred from GV and complimented how prepared we were to manage our dogs' health. I would unreservedly recommend Germantown Vet to anyone looking for a new vet in the area. The entire staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always looking out for a pet's best interests.
