Patricia Dee Pet Grooming did a great job with my domestic longhair cat. His fur recently got badly matted, and we desperately needed help. With the pandemic, however, almost no one was offering cat grooming. Pat and Tom were able to get us in right away. Due to the amount of matting he had, they had to clip most of his fur. That part didn't surprise us. What did surprise us was how good they made him look. Our cat looks years younger, and is even acting much happier. I expect we'll be taking him back periodically from now on. Pat and Tom were friendly people, and were great with our boy. Tom gave us some good advice for helping avoid matting in the future. They do run the business out of the basement of their house. It's well equipped and has it's own entrance, but don't expect it to look like PetSmart. It's a genuine mom and pop small business, and one I would definitely recommend. read more

I am having a hard time even thinking of where to start. Scheduling was fine, we showed up at 11, I had a mask on and was ready. Things you notice when you first walk in...(1) No one is wearing a mask and its a tight space; (2) they quoted me $45-50 which seemed reasonable; (3) the place is NOT clean, there was what I assume was dog pee in the entryway that multiple people had passed but never bothered to clean up. They told me don't go too far he should be done in 40 min. Worked for me I went shopping and 30 min later I get a text that he's ready. I walk in and the man at the checkout desk greats me by saying "Its 50 but I should have charged you more since it took 3 of us to hold him down...." What the Actual Hell, then he goes into how we should be bringing him every six weeks so he gets comfortable with them....How about you take more time with the dog instead of doing a wash, dry, and nail trim in 30 min. The man upfront was so rude and crass that I would give a zero review but the dogs nails look good. Now mind you when we first started they would take 2 hours or 2 1/2 so i thought that was the right amount of time for my Yorkie small dog. so today when i brought her in he said how's your day look like i said i am off so ...6 hours later nothing from them when i called him he said that certain dogs take priority hmmmm where does it say that in the office NO WHERE! so i came in to pick up my doggie Pat was still working on her, so i asked John a question if dogs are being bumped off due to overbooking or priority why then do you make appointments?then he comes out from behind the desk with the appointment book and says here let me show how the fu## this works ...i said excuse me don't you talk to me that way i am not cussing at you refrain ...so i said just give me my doggie he went to reach for her all mad ..i said no let pat bring her so she did then she gave her to me she then turned around to tell him to calm down ..he shoved her out of the way to open the door kicking me out..i am not sweating my end just the fact she didn't finish her 5 hours later again overbooking after the way he treated her i think he does it to work her to death..also i think the guy doesn't like spanish american people..get this he goes to church,he really does need Jesus,he's the reason why i don't go to church because there full of people like him. It's official! Patricia dee will be my forever groomer! I have a golden doodle with the weirdest hair because he is a hybrid. We live in Maryland and it is really difficult to find a good dog groomer. After two years of looking for the right groomer , believe me it was 2 years of searching, we went through petsmart, Severn grooming , Sean Patrick and plenty more. They always made him look funny because doodles are hard to shape with different types of hair. Patricia Dee grooming was amazing!! They were very helpful when we came in- she asked a picture of how I did NOT want him to look and I showed her a past picture. After that, she asked me if I trusted her, and bam! I gave her my dog and left it all up to her. When I picked him up , I was beyond shocked at how she made my dog look like a giant Bichon frise and I loved it!! I booked my next appointment already. It is quite pricey but hey it is definitely worth it. I wish I could fully express how incredible this service is!! we got our kitty from a chaotic household, and the poor thing had matted fur, chunks missing in her coat, overgrown nails, smelled like cigarettes, and had feces stuck to her bottom. we called around desperately trying to find a groomer willing to work her in, and Patricia picked up the call. she was kind and courteous on the phone, and willing to work us in on the same day. she and her husband run the business, and they're very knowledgeable about what they do. they were so good with our cat, and she wasn't afraid at all, and was even purring on the car ride home! it's a quaint little salon, and I really felt like they gave her all of their care and attention when she was there (and we saw some gorgeous doggo's leaving just before us, who looked immaculately groomed)! when we picked her up, less than an hour later, her front and back nails were trimmed, her fur was given a beautiful haircut, all the knots and matting were removed, she smelled beautiful (like a great load of fresh, cotton laundry), the fur between her paw pads was trimmed, her bottom was cleaned and trimmed, and she was friendly and happy! they even gave us grooming tips before we left on how to care for her coat as it grows back in (she's a Siberian). we were hesitant about the lion's cut at first since her long fur is a part of her "look," but it was really the only option because of how neglected she had been until we got her. and guess what-- we LOVE her haircut!! we think she looks so cute, and she's so nice to cuddle up with. we will definitely be regulars here. be ready to pay in cash; there's a little mall, bunches of fast food and ATM's nearby to get a snack and grab a tip, and I cannot recommend this business highly enough. thank y'all so much!!! read more

They don't wear masks in their tight space. Should be reported. We have lived in 4 different cities, with a variety of dog groomers. We know our dog hates his nails being clipped and his legs being brushed. We told them he can be muzzled if needed. Upon pick up, the owner has the audacity to say that he "should have" charged an extra handling fee because our dog may have growled or snapped at him. He proceeded to psycho-analyze our dog... basically saying he has behavioral issues. Citing the variety of dog groomers we have had and never hearing this before - the owner simply stated that most dog groomers are afraid to lose out on our business. Like Mary, the owner also tried to say our dog needed to come every 6 weeks in order to get used to him so he would no longer do that. Oh. Please. 2 stars because his nails were nice but cut was fine (too short in his face when we tell every groomer we like I keep it teddy bear long). I would pass on Patricia Dee. read more

I've been twice to this grooming service. I have a puppy that is not a year old. When I went to pick him up after his 2nd appointment, I was essentially scolded for his behavior. Although I was told we'll try again and another appointment was booked I felt like me and my pup weren't welcome back, as before we left I was told, "he's a mess." Additionally, for his 1st appointment, his fur was assessed and he was matted. I already knew that and I was told there might be an extra fee to basically repair his coat. I was fine with paying the extra fee, which was $90. I thought that was a little excessive, but I don't know the effort it took so I paid the extra fee without discord. The 2nd time I took him I was charged a handling fee because he was difficult, but wasn't told in advance about this extra charge. I was given a suggestion to give him something to calm him down the next time he came to get groomed --CBD. In summary, I would recommend this service, but only if you have a perfectly behaved animal. Reading your response, you're so defensive. All the points you put in your response, I'm in agreement with, except for letting me know there may possibly be a handling fee before I came to pick him up so I wouldn't be surprised. read more

Yes, our people skills tend to suck (actually my people skills suck, Patricia's were fine). (PSSST that's why they work with DOGS) Anyways. Patricia Dee Grooming was booked solid on Saturday. But she was taking reservations for Sunday. What groomer does this, the day before Sunday? Only one in my experience -- THIS one. She didn't make me feel stupid for bringing photos of how I wanted my dog clipped. She wasn't a zillion miles away from me, like everything else seems to be. The price she quoted was pretty much the going rate anywhere you are in the country. Most importantly, she groomed my dog exactly how I like him groomed. She didn't forget a toenail, she didn't add $5 for anals or $5 for a sanitary clip. My dog looks great and it's well worth it. If you are looking specifically for people skills (which, again, this groomer did not seem to lack) bring your dog to a snooty human hair salon and pay triple digits. If you want your dog to look and feel great coming out of the groomers, bring him or her here. read more

Love this place. Patrica took care of my 14.5 year old Maine coon roxy at the last minute on a Saturday for a very reasonable price. She was very sweet and told us the best time to come so roxy wouldn't have to be stressed out with a ton of dogs around. She knew how to handle and comfort cats because roxy felt comfortable around her even though roxy generally doesn't like new people. Roxy was also badly matted and patrica didn't complain or try to make me feel bad. Roxy looked comfortable the entire time she was being shaved. She smelled great after and her dandruff disappeared as promised by patrica. Would highly recommend and return for all my pet grooming needs. 7/18 Update - I've been back a few more times and the experience has changed somewhat. Patricia still does a great job and tries to accommodate me even though I tend to try to make appointments at the at minute. She also taught me about which grooming tools I should use on my pets instead of what I've been using. However, I do get questions about why my cats have mats or weight problems. I am sensitive to this because I do the best I can and I don't know why I should have to explain myself. Also, it costed $175 for shaving one cat and bathing another. I didn't get the price breakdown so I'm not sure what the cost of each service was but I thought this was on the higher end. I really don't understand how this place got so many five-star reviews... I brought my pup here once for just a bath and they did a fine job and I was okay with it. Patricia then told me that she would be happy to give my dog a trim to help with her excessive shedding. I decided to return again and let Pat trim her trusting that she had so much experience with different dog breeds. My dog is a mixed breed and I'm not one hundred percent sure of what and I've been nervous to get her a haircut because of that. Pat reassured me that it would be fine and good to do for the summer as well. When I picked my dog up today she looked completely different than when I dropped her off. I wish they had been more clear about what a "trim" means because they cut her coat way down more than they should have. Her fur no longer feels soft and she looks awkward. The hair around her neck is way cut down compared to the rest of her. I called them to tell them I was very disappointed and luckily got Tom (the much nicer of the two-she scares me). He was very nice and offered a free bath for the next visit. However I told him I'd have to think about it because I'm very hesitant to go back to them again. Just a heads up if you are thinking of going here- ask about what a haircut means specifically. They didn't explain it to me until after and honestly it sounded like they didn't know what they were doing... he said they didn't mean to cut her so short! We recently used Patricia Dee to groom our two Portuguese Water Dogs (porties). Porties are tough to groom and require quite a bit of maintenance. They often leave groomers looking like anything but a Portie. I am happy to report they both look fantastic and are ready for warmer weather. My puppy is 3 months and after reading on different groomers in the area, I decided to call Patricia Dee. I spoke with her husband Tom who gave great information on their services and tips on bathing the puppy at home. I had called in on Friday afternoon, and they were able to squeeze her in for Saturday morning. When we arrived, Patricia took a look at her hair and discussed how we wanted her haircut.
