Stopped into Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters for a quick coffee and ended up pleasantly surprised! This place is adorable -- warm vibe, tons of freshly roasted coffee beans lining the shelves, and they'll grind anything exactly how you want it. Definitely a great spot for coffee lovers. I was just planning to grab something simple, but the Nitro Brew Haystack ( 1/2 sweet) caught my eye. It's a mix of caramel, chocolate, and coconut -- and wow, it tasted amazing. Super smooth, not overly sugary, and the half-sweet option was perfect. So glad I went with that! Cute shop, friendly feel, great coffee. I'll definitely be back! This is a cute little coffee shop. I was camping in homosassa over the weekend and decided to check it out. The coffee flavors were amazing, my only complaint is that the coffee was rather light, I prefer a stronger coffee flavor. The service was good. The ambiance was really nice. Excellent coffee shop. The inside is very spacious so you probably won't have trouble finding a seat. The people behind the counter were very friendly. It's nice to see a great local coffee shop. For the coffee, it's pretty sweet so if that's not your thing you may want to ask them to tone that down a bit. I didn't try any of their food but I wish I got one of their giant cookies. Thought this place was amazing. We were in Homosassa to swim in the springs, and Cattle Dogs fueled our trip. These baristas know how to make their lattes -- the balance of sugar to coffee was perfect. We ordered dirty chais and they were spot on: not too sweet, not too bitter, just right. They even served our coffees in cans, which kept them fresh and was fun to drink out of -- a cool touch. I will say my friend ordered a matcha latte, and it definitely wasn't great. The color was really light and the flavor was off. If you're coming for a drink, stick to the coffee and avoid the matcha, and you won't be disappointed. They had quite a few couches you can sit on to sip on your coffee. Very big space, which makes it good for groups. read more

This surprise find was a highlight of our trip! The workers were wonderful and very knowledgeable about their craft. The manager Lexi was very friendly and attentive as well. The cafe had a fun array of flavors that brought us back the next morning for more. A wide array of loose leaf tea made for a lovely souvenir. I got a spicy Nashville spud and my friend tried their pumpernickel avocado breakfast toast. The food was phenomenal and unique to the cafe, very good flavor profiles. Overall it was a great experience! Will visit again if I am ever back in the area. read more

A larger version of the roaster we discovered downtown Crystal River. It is in the strip mall by Ollie's.. drive thru available. You can purchase kpods, whole bean,ground beans. Many flavors and roast styles. This became our daily breakfast stop. Bagel breakfast sandwiches with sausage and veggies. (Yes...added veggies). All the breads were full of flavor and very moist... maple pecan...morning glory....blueberry... cranberry walnut. They offer alternatives to milk as well. Thanks for the coffee on this crazy day of neighboring power outage. They called in backup and are doing their best. This is always my go to spot for coffee, this location is usually not as busy as the Crystal River location, a hidden gem. The cherry cheesecake muffin was so decadent and delicious. We made a trip to Howards flea market and after we decided to to try cattle dog coffee roasters. Very disappointed . The coffee we bought was supposed to be dark roast , However it tasted like dishwater. We bought some K - Cups to try at home. First of all each k-cup is a dollar a piece, we order fresh ground coffee from California that is .35 a cup. we have tried 2 of the k -cups so far and there is no coffee taste . Very watery . They have a huge selection of coffees, muffins, breads, danish, etc. I got a regular latte (hot) and a cinnamon apple caramel muffin. Coffee was very flavorful and the muffin was oh so good. We have been in other locations before and the staff were extremely friendly and nice, however we went here in the Homosassa location for the first time and the staff was very rude, specially the guy doing our frozen coffee and cappuccinos. The other guy that is taking orders at the front was very nice but we were so dissapointed with the dude making our coffee. If you dont like to deal with people find a job in a office with closed walls. read more

I discovered Cattle Dog in 2019 when I was in town to help my mom recover from a health issue. What should have been a short stay turned into 5 months due to a major setback on her part and a retinal detachment on mine. My trips to Cattle Dog were a bright spot during a difficult time. The employees couldn't know how much the gal with the eye patch appreciated their kindness and great coffee. I'm back in town helping mom again, and was thrilled to stumble upon this new location of Cattle Dog, which is closer to mom's. The space is beautiful -- large yet cozy, and employees Jess and Cameron made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. My Mandarin Moo was as tasty as ever, and the gluten-free blueberry scone was gloriously similar to angel food cake. I will be back. Often. What a great addition to Homosassa. read more

Very nice little coffee, sandwich shop. Was having company arriving at lunchtime and on Fridays they have fresh lobster rolls. I ordered some stopped in and grabbed them for lunch. I was so excited to have a new cafe closer to home. We have been going to Dunnellon and Crystal River for years and often use the Crystal River cafe as a meeting place for friends and lunch. Sorry to say I won't be using the Homosassa cafe again. Imagine the audacity to ask for a cup that is large enough to actually be used to drink water and then imagine my surprise to see a charge for 2 cups ( the coffee variety ) on my bill. When I questioned the charge I was told it was company policy. I would have hoped a reasonable size cup for water would be company policy but after some back and forth with Lexi about the availability of different size cups at different locations I was told she would not serve someone complaining about the 15cent per cup charge and to leave. There was no screaming, no swearing and nothing derogatory towards Lexi. Although the charge is nominal it is the principal of a restaurant/coffee shop not providing a regular glass for water, a beverage they offer.I asked for the name of the owner and she refused several times saying she was refusing me service and she would call the police to escort me out of the cafe. I did not create a scene at the counter, unless you call someone questioning the manager about who the owners are, a scene So you lost my lunch business today. Might go back to Crystal River but my enthusiasm for Cattle Dog has been pretty well squashed and you might want to have Lexi consider some customer service training it looks as if this is not the first time she has had problems read more
