What a charming little bistro in Crystal River! We stopped in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by both the food and the atmosphere. The potato soup was absolutely delicious--rich, flavorful, and comforting. I also had a BLT on a croissant, which was fresh and very tasty. Of course, we couldn't leave without trying dessert. The pumpkin crunch cake was excellent, and the hummingbird cake was pretty good as well. Their coffee was smooth and paired perfectly with our desserts. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. As a bonus, they also have a cute gift shop that's worth browsing while you're there. If you're looking for a cozy spot with good food, desserts, and great service, this little bistro is definitely worth a visit! read more

Amy's is a cute little bistroesque cafe adjoining a boutique of gifts, decor and some fashion accessories. I had the French Connection, flavor was good, enhanced by the horseradish sauce and au jus. The only thing that would have made it better is arugula, but then, I love arugula on a sandwich. My friend had the quiche plate with fruit that she said was good. We split a lemon cookie at the end, it was very good. The only thing negative I'd add is the portions were on the small side for the price, but quality was good. Our server Addison was exceptional! On a past visit I had one of their truffles....all I can say is get one, delicious! read more

OMG!' Love this place! We just had coffee and desserts, but will absolutely be back. Our server was new, but such a sweetheart kid. She was attentive but gave us enough space. We sat the "the cubbyhole" area with a great street view and a view of the shop. The pumpkin pecan cake was rich, flavorful, and moist. Delicious! What a delightful little eatery and shop! I had the egg salad croissant and the best thing about it is that they made the egg salad with olives! Yummy! I also had the crab soup which was very good. Dessert was a treat of chocolates from the little adjacent shop. read more

This place was unfortunately not good. From the watery chicken which we thought was canned but the staff clarified was actually frozen to the inedible truffles, this stop was very disappointing for us. We got simple dishes - the cobb salad, which the menu indicated had chopped grilled chicken on it, Tuscan hummus which the menu said had an olive tapenade, and a triple decker sandwich. As I alluded to, the chicken most certainly was not grilled or chopped. It was a watery tasteless dollop of presumably chicken. It was terrible. And to think that they are charging $4 for chicken if you want to add it to a salad or sandwich. The "olive tampenade" was just sliced black olives. Herbs and olive oil were topping the hummus. For dessert, we got a slice of the key lime cake, a German chocolate cake truffle, a grizzle which had chocolate with caramel and pecans, and a pecan cream pie truffle. The truffles looked a little old in the case and we should've taken the hint. The chocolate had that white appearance that suggested that it had been sitting there for a while (see pics). The truffles were unable to be eaten. I took a bite and took it out. They had a very odd taste and they were stale, primarily the nuts. The only saving grace about this $80 meal (!) was the key lime cake. It was moist and flavorful and the cream cheese icing was so good! This is the only thing that we should gotten at this place. The patio was also cute. Two stars for the key lime cake and the patio. Thanks also to our servers who reimbursed me $4 for the chicken as they knowingly and truthfully shared that they didn't cook it there. read more

Grabbing a quick bite before our beach day on the springs. OMG this food is so good! So fresh with unique choices. I started with the crab bisque. It was delicious. a very unique flavor. Kind of sweet. Then I had the Tomato, basil and bacon wrap with Mayo. Amazing! I thought the combination sounded strange but it was so good. One of the best things I have eaten from anywhere in a while. So good !!! Deb had the Egg & Olive. Pretty tasty as well. Interesting flavors. We finished with a slice of humming bird cake and a lemon cookie. Both were fresh and delicious. The slice of cake was huge. Took us a few days to finish ! Our server was very helpful and made suggestions for us based on what we were interested in. I loved (with an emphasis on the past tense) Amy's for Sunday brunches or girl's day out but after my two most recent visits, we won't be going back. This little cafe was on our must do list when visiting our homes in Crystal River. We also included it in our vacation rental guest books as a "must visit". On our first visit this spring, we showed up with a party of eight lovely ladies ready to shop in their little boutique, sip Memoses and have lunch. I sent one of my girlfriends in to put our names in while I was parking the car. Upon entering the establishment, my friend informed me that the staff was extremely rude. When she went to put our name in the older lady behind the counter simply said "No". Puzzled, my friend asked again and was met with the same reply, so she timidly stepped back and decided to wait for me. When I approached the counter, I too was greeted with a rude reply. However, upon further discussion, I was able to secure a table, and we waited 15 minutes to be seated. Thinking that this was possibly just a bad day on the part of the staff, the next time I had friends in town I decided to try it again. This time, I called ahead for a reservation. Upon arrival, it was noted that they were busy, and I was thankful for my forethought. However, upon reaching the counter the staff had no knowledge of my reservation and treated me like I had lost my mind. Upon their further investigation, it was determined that I did indeed have a reservation and an extremely brisk woman "TOLD" me to follow her and proceeded to walk off. One of my guests for the day is handicapped and walks with assistance canes. She was waiting on the bench outside. Knowing that it would be difficult for her to navigate the shoppers and waiting patroons, instead of immediately following our host, I stepped outside the door to help her in. Once she was on her way, I rushed after our host. Upon meeting her in the hall to the patio she said to me, "If you don't follow me when I tell you to come, I will give your table to someone else". Needless to say, at this point I was very upset. I explained that I was helping my handicapped friend and she reply, "So, I suppose you are going to be mad at me your entire meal." Had I not just maneuvered my friend to our table, I would have walked out. To make the situation worse, upon asking our waitress if I could speak with the manager, I was informed that the women who seated us was the owner. To correct her error she did comp us the Memoses that we ordered with our meal, but I was so disappointed in the wonderful luncheon I had planned for my friends I had a hard time enjoying the refreshment. I can only think this is staffing burn-out or possibly this little gem has outgrown its current management staff. Too sad. I hope they don't treat all their patrons in this manner or Crystal River will have another store front available on their little Avenue. read more

"Quiche" of The Day was actually a frittata, not a quiche! (No crust, fluffy instead of creamy & dense)... and very small (about the size of a small muffin). Side salad was ok. Wait staff was pleasant. Disappointing that brunch menu stops at 11am. The retail shop is cute. read more

I always look forward to eating here when I'm in the area. I love sitting outside on the back patio and the murals are awesome. My favorite thing on the menu is the Egg and Olive sandwich, which I ordered today. It is served on a croissant and is delicious! I also had a cup of the black eyed pea, greens and tomato soup. It was a wonderful lunch and I highly recommend it! I look forward to my next visit and highly recommend Amy's in the meantime. read more

Today we lunched at Amy's, ordering today's special soup/mini croissant chicken salad, potato soup and the BLT. The portion for the cup of soup was small. Every thing served was flavorful and well prepared. We shared an oversized portion of tasty Hummingbird cake. Absolutely nothing wrong with the food or service but we left thinking $43 for lunch including tip is pricey. Up charging for a sprinkle of bacon and cheese on the soups seemed excessive. Just didn't think it is a worthy value for a return visit. read more

Stopped in for a bite of lunch at this quaint little place, menu looked promising with dishes that sounded delicious but alas, did not deliver, at least on this day. We ordered their signature Greek salad and cup of crab bisque. When the crab bisque arrived, it looked yummy but provided an odd, mysterious taste that we could not believe: marzipan. What were our taste buds doing to us? Could the mysterious taste really be marzipan? It was like eating a tepid, liquid Christmas cookie with crab in it. We cannot recommend it - EVER. We could not finish it. We called it to the attention of our server who said it had never been a problem but would ask the kitchen. She later returned and said, yes, it was a mistake, they weren't having their best day. No offer of a different soup or adjusting our bill. Their attitude seemed to be, we acknowledge our error but you ordered it, you pay for it. The Greek salad had a single lonely shrimp on a bed of pale, thinly sliced romaine lettuce with plenty of marginally stale feta cheese crumbles, the type purchased from a supermarket in a small tub. The salad was partially buoyed by 5 Kalamata olives and tomato chunks. While reviewing the menu initially, we had thought of ordering some of the delicious-sounding desserts but reconsidered we should not take more chances. $30. for mediocre Greek salad and bizarre crab bisque. And they did not really seem to care about our experience. As such, two stars seems like a fair review. We spend a lot of time on the Georgia coast and know crab bisque. Sometimes it is better than others and does vary but NEVER flavored with marzipan. Gad! Hopefully, this was a once in a lifetime experience. Notably, on the day we were there a sign in the ladies room advertised their search for a chef, a baker, and a server. Mystery solved. read more

Very disappointed with the lack of customer service yesterday. We were greeted with "how many ?" Then when I told her there was 2 of us she refused to seat us at "4 top table ". There was no one else in line to be seated. We waited for ten minutes for two customers to get done their food ... then I saw the tiny round side table in the middle of the boutique side where she intended for us to sit. Customers were shopping all around these people as they tried to finish eating. Their plates couldn't even fit on the table. I then told the same unkind waitress that this table wasn't acceptable and could we please sit at the still unoccupied table for 4. "No". So I told her that was fine we would just go eat someplace else. She said "OK ". Guess she didn't care to lose a customer. The other waitresses looked mortified by her behavior. I do hope she isn't the owner of this establishment. My friend was here from out of town. I was very embarrassed by her bad behavior. I had purchased many items from their boutique as Christmas gifts. I will never shop there again or eat at their restaurant. Btw, we went around the corner to the Crab Plant where we were greeted with "sit wherever you want " followed by the most delicious crab chowder and coconut shrimp and fish and chips Do yourself a favor and avoid Amy's for a more friendly experience! read more

My mom and I came here for the first time about 7 years ago. We were on a trip to see the manatees and stopped here. Glad we did because this restaurant left a lasting impression! Gave us a great memory that lasted all those years. My entire family traveled to crystal river this time. We were able to find Amy's again and realized this was the place we ate all those years ago. Ate here for breakfast two days in a row. Breakfast is tasty, I got the shrimp and grits first day and waffles the second. The service is very good, the chief especially is a very friendly man, I believe his name is Jonathan. The ambiance of this place is very relaxing, the outdoor seating is very very nice! And it doesn't hurt there's plenty of nice shops nearby. read more

Came in for a cup of coffee this morning. Was greeted warmly by the lady in the back, not so much by the younger server. I asked for a coffee to go, they poured me a large (looks to be 20oz), and then gave me a hand written receipt to go next door to pay (at this point I suspected that don't have much to-go foot traffic). The total was $3.71 for a large coffee. It was decent, but overpriced for a to-go order. Drop it $1 and I think you would have been right in line. Cute shop, but based on the price of the coffee, don't think I'll return. read more

Adorable lunch find in this remote Crystal River area. Not only is the gift shop within the restaurant super esthetic and fun to look around, but the food was just as good. I got the greek salad and added shrimp- though I had to add it on afterwards as the description failed to say that it came with one single shrimp (not enough food for me!). Also, my salad initially came out with only half of the ingredients that the description said it would come with- immediately corrected by the wait staff once I asked about it though. Once I had my full salad, it was tasty and definitely filling. The pita bread was a nice addition too. Amy's has a nice back patio area to sit at as well. I stopped in for coffee this morning. While out front this place looks tiny they have a lot to offer. The coffee (black) was very smooth and satisfying. There is a large deck out back and it was a perfect morning for enjoying the quiet breeze. They have a good menu although I was only here for coffee and some tranquility.
