I ordered a 10 ounce filet mignon (medium rare) which came with a side salad. When the salad came, one-fourth of it was wilted and brown, and the onions smelled weird. I picked out the wilted bits and ate the rest - begrudgingly! I was hoping this wouldn't be an indicator for the rest of the meal. Finally my steak came and it looked delicious! The first bite was great, but as I got closer to the middle, I noticed it was pink with a slight hint of PURPLE which meant they cooked it rare. The flavor was okay but I've had way better. Some part of the meat were a bit difficult to cut but I finished it. The service was subpar as our server seemed to have her attention elsewhere and was rather late with refills, items I asked for, and overall attentiveness! Finally got around to checking the place out after hearing lots of raving reviews. Our thoughts: The Food: You get a lot of food for the money, so no complaints there. You definitely leave full. As for the quality of the food, it was just OK. Maybe we hyped it up too much in our heads but we were expecting more. Steaks were cooked fine. Crab legs were very dry and "meh" -- the crab legs you can get from Costco were better. Dessert: Deep fried apple pie was amazeballs. The Service: Very friendly and food was very quick. We ordered 10 oz filets anticipating being able to take some home as leftovers--because it's always been so good! Not this time. My filet was not shaped like a filet. It was weird shaped with thick and thinner places on it. It looked like a leftover chunk. Consequently it did not cook right. It was very blue and not easy to cut through. The fantastic kind waitress took it back to be fixed, brought it back and it was more done on the outside and where I cut it but still nearly raw in the thicker part. Inedible. At that point the manager came over, saw how bad it was and offered to fix it. My partner was nearly done eating so I requested a discount t of half since I did eat and enjoy half of the dinner. He agreed, that's what was done. I wouldn't recommend this place because the quality of meat has gone down. It's now not special and you'd get better at any of the other chains around here. Wow...waited an hour for the food. Avoid Prime Rib...Staff even confirmed poor quality beef. The Rib -Eye was good, but clearly half the thickness of a normal rib eye. These guys are hurting to keep up with steak demand-clearly. Coincidentally, I ordered the bone-in rib-eye and this was clearly not the same as the other rib-eye. I'm not convinced these aren't even USDA Choice steaks. Had a better Walmart rib-eye for breakfast than what these guys are passing for steaks! Feel like I should posting on BBB then Yelp, TBH. Avoid this place until they get they're act together. Also, they charge for cheese, bacon in their "baked potato and the serving is lightly "sprinkled." We had a waitress come by an offer a "refills," and they charged us for a 2nd drink. Don't offer refills if you're charging for them. Didn't bring water to one of our guests and didn't offer sourdough until end of dinner when we asked about it. Pros: Sourdough and the Costco Vanilla Ice Cream. The staff were kind and understanding, and I appreciate the relative honesty of staff sharing about drop in quality. I understand restaurants having difficulty during this pandemic...lack of employees, food delivery etc. We were seated after waiting 5 minutes. Our server Marwin was super friendly and very attentive. He gave his recommendations, my husband asked about prime rib because of reviews. He said we have really good cooks and the prime rib looked outstanding. We ordered the meal for two. Onion string appetizer was sooo good! Salad also great! Just singed on the outside. My husband feels sick. I ordered the crab, and the waiter said there were no crab crackers. I had to use my fork and my hands. It was delicious, but I felt like Daryl Hannah in Splash! We were only offered a dessert on the house, which we didn't want. The bill was over $200. In June 2022 (you know what I mean). Fortunately for me, you don't have to be the best dad to celebrate Father's Day. Turns out just being an overprotective hover-dad warrants a special dinner, as well. When the time came to decide, I immediately blurted out "Cattlemen's!!!!" I may have even shrieked it like a little girl and peed a little. I said I MAY have. I'm not admitting anything. I got my usual, the Rustler Ribeye with the seasonal vegetables and blue cheese crumbles to put on the steak. As always, it didn't disappoint. Perfectly seasoned, cooked, and tender as a gentle lover. My kids got their usual, too, which is what I am focusing on for this review, as I somehow left it out last time. At a lot of places the kids menu basically says "hey, here's a bunch of cheap crap your kids won't like, but at least it won't cost as much as your food." The kids menu at Cattlemen's, on the other hand, says "try not to steal your kids' food because it's awesome, even though it comes at a very reasonable price." They chose Pete's Jr. Special, which is a 5 oz. steak, and they chose fries for the side. They like their steak medium (pink in the middle). I think I've ruined them by refusing to prepared them cremated meat when I grill. And cremated meat is exactly what you get with the kids' steak at most restaurants. I've often even gotten that for the adult meal. At Cattlemen's it is truly cooked to order. Their steaks were a perfect medium and seasoned up great. It was sirloin, so not quite as good as my ribeye, but the seasoning and preparation made it a great contender. I wouldn't have been disappointed if I had ordered it for myself. And for $8.50, you can't complain about the price either. This time, in spite of having eaten their entire meal and a significant amount of my steak (this is not indicative of small portion sizes--my kids love good food), they still had room for dessert? Don't we all really always have room for dessert? We just lie to the waiter when we're feeling cheap, right? Anyhow, they ordered the Cowpoke Brownie Sunday. For $2.50!!!! It's a warm, delicious brownie, topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, Oreo cookie crumbles, whipped cream (which my kids passed on) and a cherry (also passed). I loved that it was a good-sized portion, but not an enormous monstrosity that is going to give you instant diabetes like most restaurants. Being Father's Day, I exercised my right to have a single bite of their dessert. It was like heaven. I was transported to another plane of existence. They had to slap me and pull their dessert back, as they worried that in my entranced state I would eat it all. It was so good. All around this was the best meal any of us had since we came here for my birthday. And it was great to know that my kids were enjoying their food as much as I was, even though the restaurant is basically giving it away. Dined at Cattlemens on 11/17/21 and it was not a good experience! We were given one chipped and one dirty salad bowl which we asked to be replaced. The salad that was a part of our meals was specifically ordered with no croutons, yet was served with them. When I pointed this out to our waiter, he apoligized and removed the salad serving bowl and tongs. After a wait he returned with the salad serving bowl without croutons but also without the tongs for us to serve it with. We finally used our forks to serve salad to ourselves. My wife is vegan and they do not have any vegan entrees so she ordered the sauteed button mushrooms, the mixed vegetables that turned out to be a small bowl of cauliflower, broccoli, 1 piece of purple onion, and one piece of red bell pepper steamed with no sauce and no seasoning at all. She also ordered roasted butternut squash. It had been seasoned with too much garlic and chilli pepper flakes containing crushed red pepper. The amount of this seasoning was overpowering and totally overwhelmed any taste of the squash. She was unable to eat it all as it was too highly seasoned! I ordered Pete's Special Steak that is supposed to be the founder's favorite, a 10 oz "succulent sirloin." I found the steak I was served fatty and had so much sinew in it that it was difficult to cut with a steak knife and difficult to chew. Part of this steak ended up back on the plate unable to be swallowed. Certainly not succulent in any way! Needless to say, we will not be eating at any of this chains restaurants again! read more

Good food, staff is friendly. However, the last few times I've gotten take-out there have been mistakes every time. They are great and owning it and correcting it; however, my problem is that now my other meals are sitting in the car getting cold while they remake one of my meals. This is what they call a 16oz. Cattlemens Cut Prime Rib and think it's ok to charge you $36.99 for this puny little end-cut?! Plus a smashed twice baked potato?! Not cool. My wife loves ordering the chopper burger or what used to be a burger until it came with no fixings. I firmly believe to not bite the hand that feeds and kindly told the server it's no fault of his own what the kitchen had plated for us and kindly asked him for a bun and fixings for my wife and he quickly got it for her without hesitation. I told him I appreciated his efforts for the evening and tipped him well (hardworking servers deserve good tips) but this review is for the management of Cattlemens. This place used to be our families go to. The food has gone down hill so much it's a waste of money. Dined Monday and all the meat was dry. Steaks were basically jerky. Salmon was so burnt they poured teriyaki on it to mask it but the top layer of burned fish was all you could taste. Ribs were very over cooked, needed lots of bbq sauce to get it down, probably left over from the weekend. So sad how much quality they've lost. Service was friendly and prompt. read more
