A 3 star review is rather generous given the meal we were served. I will begin by saying our waiter was an absolute doll! He was attentive and communicative throughout the entire dinner and he deserves a 10 star review. The service from the hostesses outside is a completely different issue. We were given a wait time of 1 hour and 15 minutes, no problem, we anticipated this. Upon giving your name and number cattleman's send you a link via text so you can track your wait time (standard protocol these days). Once our timer was at 0, we waited another 10 minutes for a text... nothing. I then walked up and asked the hostess if she could check on our table. She went inside and never returned. We continued to wait at the kiosk/pedestal and to our right and left we had two other parties approach. A second hostess then comes out and completely ignores the crowd of hungry patrons waiting for an update. I finally ask her if the original hostess sent her out to seat us. She looks confused and unaware. She asks our party name and then tells us to go in. I couldn't believe this girl was a hostess. She avoided eye contact and did not greet a single person when she came out. She stared down at her ipad and fiddled around as if her job was just to stand in front of the restaurant, ignore people and look cute. Okay, so we get seated and as mentioned earlier our waiter was a delight. He seemed busy but kept us updated throughout the entire dinner. Now my review about the actual dinner.... I would never return. We were seated by 8 and the restaurant was out of prime rib, no problem, I ordered a rib eye instead and my bf ordered a New York. We both requested medium rare but were served medium steaks. I wasn't a fan of my ribeye but didn't send it back because my bf doesn't like sending food back at restaurants. My bf offered me a piece of his NY steak and I was disgusted at the flavor. It taste like it was cooked on old burnt grease, as if the cook hadn't cleaned the grill in between steaks. It was bitter and tasted borderline chemical- like. I would have sent that steak back regardless of my bf's thoughts on sending food back The only thing cattleman's has going for them is their cheap prices. It's one of the cheapest steakhouses I've been to but I'ld rather pay more for better quality. Like I said, this was our first and last time coming here. Wasn't worth the drive nor the wait. I had no clue it was a franchisee and thought we were supporting local. It wasn't until after I found out we went to a chain steakhouse. No wonder... Drinks- the legendary margarita was actually made well. So I would give your bartender 4/5 stars. read more

Don't try going unless you make reservations. It is frustrating sitting there waiting 30-40 minutes when there are tables open waiting for those with reservations to come. We could have been in and out before they showed. We left and found agreat new place in Kingsburg. read more

Cattlemens at one point was a great steak house to go but the service has gotten worse and worse over the years. Even with a reservation I had wait ~30 minutes to be seated. The service was slow and my server was rude. I was asking for basic things like: "Can I get silverware?" or "Can I get a refill on my water?" And was met with a rude response. First time trying this place today. I came for dinner with my boyfriend and his parents. We had an occasion we wanted to celebrate. We were seated fairly quickly but sat for a while before anyone came to get our drink orders. Server came back with drinks quickly and again, took a while before he came back to take our food order. When our food arrived it looked and smelled great. However, 2 out of 3 steaks were cooked incorrectly. I ordered a rib eye medium rare, while bf ordered the NY steak Medium. His dad ask for medium well and it came out with some red but he didn't mind. My steak was pretty much well done.. Very little pink, pretty tough. Bf's steak was almost raw. We asked sever for some steak sauce since well I was gonna be eating cardboard, he never returned with it and I had to ask someone else who immediately brought it to the table. I ate 1/2 my steak hoping A1 would improve it, sadly, it didn't. Never got offered a refill on my ice tea. I waited for my ice to melt for something to drink. He never brought the water that I asked for either. Thankfully he didn't forget the beer orders. Bf's dad's steak was good... Seasoned well. Bf's steak was raw so we took it home, can update after he microwaves it for lunch tmrw. Mine was tough and seasoned well but I had to drench in A1 to moisten it a bit to eat. Bf's mom just had a salad which had way more iceberg than she liked but she said it was still good. Manager tried to fix it by offering to cook my bf's steak longer or making 2 new ones or dessert but we just wanted to go home, it was a long day. In the end he gave us a discount on our meal which was appreciated. Maybe server got tied up with larger parties or whatever. Who knows,. Overall, I feel that once I mentioned something they tried to fix it which I appreciated. I'll give this place another shot one day and hopefully I can update my review with a more positive one. read more

I had an amazing dining experience at Cattlemen's. The service was awesome. The waitress Kelly, was on top of everything. To add to that positive, the food was cooked to perfection. I had the cowboy rib eye steak. It was juicy and tasty. It had a good balance of seasonings. There was large portion sizes that included an all you can eat salad as well as all you can eat sourdough bread. The environment was relaxing. It is a large and roomy restaurant with different types of seating. Thanks for a great Friday night out! I can't understand why there are only 3.5 stars. I will be back! This was my first time coming here, but my mother, who had been in the 1980s? had nothing but good things to say about her experience. The lights were dim and building shows signs of better days, which only ads to the old west charm. The employees were professional (my only complaint would be that no one offered to refill our glasses), the food was good (especially their steak; I took mine medium rare), and the atmosphere pleasant. We had reservations, but saw quite a few people waiting and the place was more-or-less packed the entire time. I've been to Cattlemens twice and had good experiences both times. The service is stellar and food is usually very good. This last time my husband had the porterhouse and I had prime rib. My husband enjoyed his meal. My prime rib was a tad over cooked but that was probably my fault more than the restaurant. They made a big deal about presenting it but I didn't particularly care for the stoneware they put it on. I know its nitpicky on my part but cutting on stoneware is not a great sesation. We had dessert and the server made a huge deal about how good and big their serving of cheesecake was. It was overhyped. It was good but not the best I ever had and the slice was average sized. Manager David has the best managerial skills and is very outgoing and attentive. They got the plus right, but it was medium well plus. The other steaks were severely undercooked. Needless to say we sent them back and 40 minutes later we got steaks that were even worse. I wish I had a picture of my ribeye, it was curled up, ran in color and cooked well past well. I cannot say one bad thing about my experience here last night! We came here for mine & my brother's Birthday and I am sure glad we did! You also get complimentary bread & salad, the bread was good but the salad was absolutely delicious! When the tumbleweed appetizer arrived it came with two sides, ranch & a delicious BBQ sauce. It tasted great...imagine a large thin pile of onion rings lol. Now the T-Bone steak was amazing! I was really taken back by how big it was! For $20 I was literally in shock...also I like mine cooked medium rare & it was cooked to perfection! It was juicy & flavorful, the fries I got as a side were ok...not great but good. For $20 I was blown away...definitely a steal! Overall the waitress & servers were great! They were very attentive & so sweet! They kept checking on us throughout our entire time there...the only thing I will say is we waited about 15 minutes just to pay our tab. We ended up going to the hostess because it took way too long, but that is minor. I had a wonderful experience & will be returning for my Dad's birthday! This is one of our favorite places to eat. The food and cocktail beverages are great. The greeter's and server's are very professional and friendly. It does get alittle loud in there at times, but only because everyone is having a great time. They start you off with your drink and home made sour dough bread accompanied by an all you can eat salad, both are awesome! We usually have the ribeye and New York steak with shrimp scampi. If I could give zero stars on this Visit I would. The prime rib appeared to be boiled but the waiter reassured us it was cooked medium rare cut into it it was dark purple obviously rare and have absolutely no seasoning on it every time we come here there's a crust of seasoning on the prime rib and it does not look boiled the server experience was almost as bad as it took 10 minutes for someone to come ask us for a water or anything.
