What a wonderful experience! We went on a cool day (70ish) in early April so water was a little chilly for snorkeling, but had such a great time nonetheless. Captains Christian and Tony were so nice and offered blankets, took pictures for us so we could get the whole family in and let younger kids drive the boat. We did the morning tour. It was absolutely amazing! The snorkeling was so much fun and kid friendly. My youngest is 9 (but she's pretty small for her age) and she had no issues at all. Great place to book an excursion for your small or large group. They allow you to bring your food and drinks on board. They offer restrooms on board also. The Dolphin cruise was nice and we were able to see 10-15 dolphins swimming around. read more

This was a fun day. The boat was plenty big. The music was good an appropriate volume. There were dolphins in the bay that were fairly close to the boat. Crab island was interesting to see. The extra trip into the gulf was just a boat ride. But...was a nice day. A mom and kids didn't bring ANY water for the trip and the captain provided the crew's personal water for them. Very nice. Bring plenty of snacks and water. Here's my beef. This is billed as family friendly and the captain was wearing a shirt with a modified Care Bear on it which clearly read "I don't fu*king care (no *...clearly spelled out). That was the first thing I noticed when I boarded the boat. There were several kids aged 2ish through teens. I'm not sure what it communicates about the customer service philosophy either. The shirt couldn't be overlooked. I would recommend this for a family adventure so long as the wardrobe choices for the employees are more a more appropriate going forward. read more

wow. impressed. Family of 12 went on the morning dolphins and snorkel tour. Best decision to be made on this trip yet. Captain was so funny, cremate Chris was perfect all the way down to the abs. Honestly, Chris was the cherry on top, enough of chris but. Very enjoyable saw dolphins and sharks on the way out to the gulf of mexico. Highly recommend to all. I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but I really felt I needed to for this. We had the most incredible boat ride, really the highlight of our trip to Destin. The captain and crew member took so much time to make it a memorable experience for us. This felt so much more personal and private than the larger dolphin tours. Super kid-friendly, my 5 year old daughter loved it and it was all very safe, comfortable and entertaining for her. She learned how to hoola hoop on board, they took so much time to point out all of the wildlife, and the snorkeling was easy and accessible to her. I won't even look at other boat rides when we come to Destin again, this one felt too good to be true. read more

Once again we enjoyed the Cattywampus! This was our 5th time to take the sunset/dolphin/snorkel cruise. Boat takes off at 5:30pm. Cost is $40 for adults and $35 for kids. Boat trip is three hours long. Boat is huge, lots of room for everyone and the captain does not pack the boat! Most people ever on with us was 30. Yet the boat is so big you don't feel crowded!! Feont of boat has trampoline style netting you can lay on and earch the water pass under you. Boat does have restroom on board. Wear your swimsuit, bring food, drinks (alcohol is allowed) and towles. Goggles, snorkel and net is provided. Collect all the empty shells you want and bring one hermit crab on board for a hermit crab race! Captain plays great music and turns on disco lights for kids dance party. This is a must yearly!!! read more

We are locals and any time we have family visiting we always book a sunset cruise. This was our first time with Cattywampus, and it surely will not be our last. By far, our favorite cruise yet! First off, not having to drive to Destin for an excursion is wonderful! The crew was so friendly, and their play list was great! Being able to get off to swim, snorkel, and walk the (unpopulated) beach was awesome! It is much more relaxing than some of the other cruises we have been. It does not go as fast, (which is a plus for my 8 year old who has gotten sick on the other before). Grab your snacks and drinks and go enjoy yourself on the Cattywampus. Great boat and great crew. Every other snorkeling or dolphin boat we passed was way crowded or looked difficult to move around in. Not so with the Cattywampus. For a mere $35 we got a 3 hour trip to cruise, snorkel, and sight dolphins. It was exactly what we were looking for! I loved how the stairs go down into the water and they provide nets and snorkel/masks for exploring the landing and a hose to shower off with when you come back onboard. The crew was very friendly and laid back, and took the time to chat it up with everyone one on one- "where are you from, are you having a good time", etc etc. There is a bathroom onboard, and you are certainly allowed to bring lunches and drinks. All in all, it was a very good value and I would love to charter with them again! read more

Capt. Tony is funny, and his first mate (don't remember his name) plays along nicely. This is an outstanding family outing. The vessel is clean and roomy. Tony is cool like the other side of the pillow as he takes his passengers to find hermit crabs (make sure you bring a couple back on board for the races) and dolphins. This guy is very good at this and the 3-hour tour was worth every penny. ~ Make sure you bring a few extra bucks to tip his assistant. If you don't, you'll feel guilty by the end of the tour. read more

Captain Tony and Daniel were great! We dealt with weather all day but they kept in constant contact with us so that we could get out on the water as soon as the weather cleared up. Oh my!! I'm not sure where to start!! We took our family, my husband & I and 9 of our children (ages 3-20) and we ALL loved it!! Snorkeling, sitting back cruising, to playing with the dolphins jumping up beside us. AMAZING experience!! This crew was top notch!! I booked this hoping for something fun for all our family. We had 8 children from 6 months to 12 years old. This far exceeded my expectations. The captain and his 1st mate were very entertaining and great with kids. They provided fun and games all along the way, and interacted with them all. What a great group of people!! We were so fortunate that we found Cattywampus! I was looking for a boat that could hold about 15-20 people and would be willing to help me find a place in front of our condo on the water where I could scatter my deceased wife's ashes.
