Honestly this location used to be 10/10 , I don't know what's changed recently but it's really awful now. Orders get mixed up consistently, it's really dirty and I understand that it gets busy but I never seen a restaurant location slowly deteriorate in value especially cava. This bowl was nasty, the salmon was overcooked and they forgot my sauce when my bf asked them to put it on they drenched the bowl in sauce and just made it unpleasant. I tried this place while on lunch at work. It's like a chipotle but with more Mediterranean options for toppings, such as olives and feta cheese. It was pretty good, and decently filling. They have a lot of meat options. I've only ever tried the chicken and steak, which are both equally delicious. They also have lamb and a few other options. They cook and cut the meat in front of you. I would recommend this place as a healthier lunch option. However price is kinda steep. Almost $20 for a bowl. And they don't fill the bowl nearly as much as the photos on their website suggests. They also use small spoons to portion out the toppings like the corn and tomato. It actually appears like maybe a tablespoon is being used. They should give a little more given the price! In the summer, there is no ac for them which is so messed up. Should open another cava in the area, Downtown Brooklyn is a major area for government offices and nascent gentrification. I've only been to kava a handful of times but it seems as if it is the Chipotle of Mediterranean food. Some locations are great and others are not so much. Today's visit was the latter. I felt sorry for the workers because they looked really stressed. They were out of a lot of things as well, and it looked like they were trying to keep up with demand. And this was later in the evening. Thankfully everyone on line was understanding. For some reason they were parts of my bowl. That were super salty to the point where I was grimacing. What it was exactly? I think maybe the feta, along with the cucumber tomato mix. But it was absolutely awful. The rest of the bowl was OK. I ended up leaving half of it and tossing it away. Because I just didn't want to run across anymore of those salty bites throughout my bowl. The only reason this made it up to 3 stars was the drink. It was delicious. I see how people complain about the customer service but honestly I never had any issues with the employees, everyone was nice and pleasant. I really like how's there so many options here. For starters you can go with greens or grains. You can also do both half greens and half grains which is great. As for the meats selection there's plenty of options here. My favorite are the spicy lamb meatballs, they are absolutely amazing and taste great. Make sure you don't forget to get any of the spreads since you can get up to 3 of them. Also there's over 10 different toppings to choose from and you can get as many or all if you want to. Very disappointed with the CAVA at the Downtown Brooklyn location. As a 911 operator, I work in the same building as NYPD and EMS, all uniformed first responders. While police and EMS get the first responder discount, 911 operators are excluded--even though we're the ones answering the calls, dispatching units, and coordinating the response. We were first told to show ID, then told we had to be in uniform. Even after complying, we're still denied--and the manager here has been incredibly rude and dismissive when asked about it. Our uniforms are nearly identical to NYPD, with only small writing that says "Communications Division," which also puts us at risk, especially for women. It's unfair and discriminatory to exclude 911 operators from recognition. We're the first point of contact in emergencies, and without us, nothing moves. CAVA needs to do better and recognize all first responders--not just the ones people see in the field. read more

Went to Cava downtown Brooklyn today. Last week I was in and they didn't have the mint cucumber drink I like so today after seeing it available I added to my order. I went to the fountain, filled my cup up and then discovered there were no straws out. I went to the register and informed the cashier, she yelled across the store and asked someone no one replied, she was in the process of ringing someone up so I figured I'd wait til she was done and assumed her next step would be to get the straw. She finished and went to start doing something with the arugula. I waited about 3 minutes then asked the next closest person about the straw, she yelled across the room "Irene we got any straws?" Irene then replied "no and they gon be mad but life goes on it's just a straw" all while the girl giggled and said "maybe she can try next door" (next door is Panera) not once did anyone turn to me and apologize for the inconvenience or simply say "we're out". The entire experience was full of sarcasm, neglect and unprofessionalism. This occurred at 11AM and they open at 10:45am, no straws so early in the day? Straws weren't even the worst part of this experience it was the customer service and the disgusting manner in how I had to receive the message. read more

While I still like Cava food, this location is by far the worst. The staff is unresponsive & rude, and their system is atrocious. They push orders 1/3 the way with one person only for them to sit on the counter waiting for the second person to do the rest and complete the check out. Naturally, that leads to a massive backlog even if their are only 3-4 people in line, resulting in the anyhow only lukewarm protein to get cold. And that doesn't even consider that the place is anything but clean, and the scanner to get reward points is permanently broken, which makes it even more expensive without being able to collect points or get rewards. I'll look for better places to get Cava in the future, and if they are t any better I'll cross the entire chain of my list of go-to lunch places. read more

So this is my 2nd visit at this location on North 4th street in Williamsburg. The first visit was ok, the second time was a disaster to put things nicely. I ordered the white rice with spicy turkey meatballs and chicken, CATHELENE which has the personality of a stray brick they just left aside on a construction site had an attitude for some reason. She gave me 2 meatballs and half of serving of the chicken I ordered, so I said to myself ok what's this about, maybe she's putting half and half and charging me for 1 meat instead of 2, so I asked for veggies also and avocado. NOW, the young lady Mohogany was a little confused when she saw the order and asked her did he get extra veggies, she said no he got extra meat, I said Nono did not, she gave me 2 meatballs and half of serving of chicken and was about to have me pay for an extra meat, so Mohagony had the bright eyed pretty young lady that's always on the register charge me accordingly instead of charging me for something I didn't get. The girl on the register is always so pleasant and great for customer service by the way, so is Mohogany for fixing the order and making things right. The place itself was a complete MESS, no forks, no napkins, just trash all over that area. I could get utensils to eat with, only knives were available. The fountain area was also a mess. I might try them again for emergency if I'm in the area, but I'll never just plan to go to that location again. Finally tried cava - the real way (aka Emma Chamberlain's way) and Cava just does not disappoint. This is honestly better that what I would consider Mediterranean chipotle, and we need one in the Bay Area, California! I got a saffron rice falafel bowl with fresh sliced avocado and spicy hummus, Muhammara, and baba ghanoush. All of it was so delicious, and it their bowls come with unlimited toppings. I'd definitely fit this in my schedule at least once every two weeks! read more
