Jenny's Coffee Shop has been around for years and never disappoints! Food: always fresh from breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is Spanish American moreso heavily on the Spanish side. Very delicious, prepared freshly, tasty, and my goodness filled of flavor. I can't express how great the food is and cooked with love daily. Service: I completely honest when I say the service is always amazing with smiles, jokes, and very upbeat. Especially when your a regular everyone comes and speak and provides a sense of warmth and calm. Ambiance: there's space to sit and eat roughly about five tables. I had high hopes, but unfortunately, the pernil was so dry it required a doggy box. Also pretty bland. And for the price, about $14, for a plate of it with rice and beans, not a good deal. Rice and beans were okay and their house made salsa picante is pretty good. Everyone was very nice though. read more

This is a steam table set up restaurant, with lots of choices for Dominican style food, mostly. Their pernil has really good flavor, though the pernil skin(bark) and their chicharron gets a little rubbery/hard from sitting out all day with the steam. The do plantains mashed and whole boiled, have white and yellow rice with gandules, mashed potatoes, and excellent old school Mac and cheese. Not too many greens. Their coffee is excellent and doesn't taste burned, and their portions are absolutely massive. They also have made to order breakfast sandwiches, omelette sand pancakes, which my husband gets and likes. The staff has been universally nice, especially there's a young Black guy with a beard and an older, short Latina lady who are always very engaged- meeting your eye and talking to you. Only reason I'm knocking off 1 star is since they have customers clear their own tables, sometimes the tables are dirty or sticky and have other customers food droppings on them. Nothing major, but a little icky. Plus, that chicharron hurts - so close to my apartment but can't really eat it unless early in the day when it's just come out. DELIVERY Ordered at 11am, it's now 12:47pm, food still hasn't arrived. I called, she said they were on their way several times but they never showed up. I understand it is a pandemic COVID19 but if you're unable to fulfill orders via delivery be honest & say so like Neptune Diner told me. Delivery is not the way to go with this restaurant. Jenny's is what it is. Straight no chaser. Good food, okay service, great prices. I've never had any gripe about this spot until today... Some guy who I've never seen before, let's call him "Can't Get Right". So Can't Get Right, literally just could not get anything right. What I would ask for he would do the opposite. Now I wasn't too pissed about that because I mean this isn't a 5 star spot. What totally pissed me off is when I asked for a large coffee and sugar, he instead gave me a large coffee and cream. Okay, cool. Told him I didn't want cream but instead a large coffee and sugar. He then looked at me like I had 4 heads coming out of my ass and I repeated myself. I guess he gave me the last bit of coffee, so Can't Get Right proceeded to take the lid off of the coffee machine and dump the grinds in the trash can that had all sort of trash in it lol. Then taps the thing that holds the filter along the side of the trash can. Um...sir? Then he puts it back on the machine and wipes the floor down. Mind you this is done with his bare hands. He picks up the paper towel from the floor...you guessed it, with his bare hands and went on to grab a cup, go to the other machine, scoop sugar from a sugar bowl with his bare hands. Mind you this sugar is spilling all over his bare contaminated hands. He then puts a lid over the coffee and pressed down on it with his palm. Um yeah, it's gonna be a no for me dog. I love this place the food is always nicely prepared the serving table is always clean. What goes on behind closed doors I have no idea about what I see in front of me at all times the fellas that work there as well as the ladies always take their time to make sure my order is correct. On a cold cold day I was even offered a cup of coffee while I waited for my meal to be prepared. I always want to take a picture of what I eat from Jenny but by the time I decide to take the picture I realize I always ate the food call me greedy but if you go there I bet you you won't take a picture either you'll fall into the same boat I did. This place has become almost a weekly spot for my wife and I every weekend. The breakfast is great with well seasoned eggs and tasty sausage and salami. We've also ordered lunch here on multiple occasions. The BBQ chicken and pork are both absolutely delicious, with the latter having a wonderfully crunchy bark (insert heart eyes emoji here). So yeah, this place deserved another star for sure. read more

Today I've ordered a Platter. Pork Bacon , Beef Sausages , Plain Scrambled Eggs & Home Fries. They Called me & Told me that they ran out of home fries so if they can give me plain fries. I was fine with it, untill my order came & it turned out to be completely what I didn't order. I received French fries, cheese eggs & bacon. I was disappointed because that's not what I ordered. So I insisted on calling them to see if they can return or at least fix my order. They was fine with giving me a fresh plate. But instead, they never came. I am currently waiting for a fresh plate. I ordered my food at 11am today. I called them back at 12:46 for a fresh plate that they affirmed on giving me. It's now 2:05pm. I am very disappointed. read more

When I first moved into this neighborhood I was pleased to come across this place. I was coming from an area in brooklyn that kept me accustomed to good home style Spanish food. This place looked and smelled impressive when i first walked in. It seemed to be very busy and popular. I ordered a simple meal of chicken w/ rice and beans plantain. It was good. So I would make it a habit to stop in for breakfast sandwiches in the morning about 3 times a week and lunch about 2 times a week. The more and more I came to this place the worst it got. Or maybe I was now noticing how sloppy their work is. The staff isn't very attentive. They seem to work at their own pace even when it is clearly a rush hour for them. Their food is inconsistent; one day it's on point! The next it's inedible, and at times it's just okay. The guys (employees) at times can be way too into themselves, trying to be charming with the ladies, and although some of them fall for it there other guest like myself who just what some damn lunch so it would be cool to go on with the business aspect and take it seriously. There were a handful of times where I walked out because it would take almost 10 minutes just to put my order in for something simple as a cup of coffee. It's just ridiculous! And lastly the prices are NEVER consistent. There's a new damn price for half a chicken with rice every damn time. I can order the same thing every day of the week and guarantee it'll be a different price at least 4 times. read more

Great Food ! The workers move at a fast pace to get you your order . The only problem I have is when I try to call in for delivery. On two occasions I was put on hold when the store is too busy and eventually I just hung up .! I could here the cashier taking other orders while I was on hold . Asides from that I have no problems with this shop . I would suggest that you go in and place your order instead of trying to get delivery. read more
