Very first experience. I was a little nervous because it felt too much like chipotle. But the flavor profile is completely different. The food tastes fresher it is full of flavor. And those pita chips...10/10! You gotta ask for a fresh chips it's amazing! I also enjoyed their different drink offerings the cucumber mint is my favorite. Service was great. The gentleman who made my first salad was very helpful, he knew his product, he made helpful suggestions which made my first experience 100/100! I wish I had gotten his name. First let me say, my family loves Cava. This review is not about cava. It's about this Walnut st Cava in Cary. Let me just enumerate all the problems in our single visit yesterday: 1. The service was apathetic, slow and rude to everyone 2. One guy dropped an object into the rice and just pulled it out like nothing happened 3. All of the toppings and the proteins were almost completely gone, except for some dried up chicken and completely burnt lamb meatballs. 4. Another guy decided that because they were so low on one of the toppings that he couldn't get his enough on a spoon, decided to reach in there and just use his hand to scoop out the toppings and dump it into the bowl. 5. The guy at the register was yelling at us to make sure we had all the details for our order before we had even finished the order so that he could conveniently ring us up. "You guys getting avocado??! Drinks?! What proteins?!" 6. One of the guys barked at my daughter for pointing at one of the toppings and daring to touch the safety glass. 7. I found my pita just sitting at the bottom of the bag loose when I got home. 8. Multiple loud bangs of large pans falling to the ground That will be the last time we go there. I had been seeing Cava all over Tik Tok and YouTube. I finally got the chance to actually try it for myself. Of course I had questions and the staff was very accommodating. The ingredients were so fresh. There were many options for proteins, veggies, and dressings and dips. I ordered a chicken and rice bowl with lots of veggies...eggplant dip and garlic dressing....so good. The sour cream and onion pita chips were amazing. The restaurant was really clean and offered ample seating...indoors and outdoors. I will return to try other items on the menu. read more

This was the first time I've been to CAVA and it was just outstanding! I ordered the grains bowl with brown rice, tzatziki, traditional hummus, harissa, spicy lamb meatballs, fire roasted corn, pickled onions, tomato & cucumber, shredded romaine, lemon herb tahini and greek vinaigrette with the free side pita. As someone who's never really had Mediterranean food in the past, I was deeply impressed and thought this food was so delicious. The lamb meatballs had a perfect amount of spice to them that was well balanced by the lemon herb tahini. My only complaint would be that it only came with 4 meatballs and I expected a bit more since it was a $2 up-charge. My fiance and I came here for the first time. I usually am nervous to go to new places but I felt instantly welcomed when I got in line. All of the menu options are clear and easy to read, the staff is very helpful and patient with all of the customers. And we were checked out by Cheryl. She was super kind and patient as well. She told us about the app so that we can be rewarded for our meals. I don't even know that there was an app; but as fore mentioned, it was our first time. Still a fan of Cava. The portions are large and the bowls are customizable. They have signature bowls, but I usually opt for the create your own bowls. The available toppings and upcharges are clearly displayed. I forgot to read my previous review and ordered falafel at my more recent visit. The falafel continues to be disappointing. Small portion, no flavor, poor texture. If you want falafel and are open to another protein I recommend doing 1/2 and 1/2. You still get about the same falafel (3 small pieces rather than 4) and get another 1/2 portion of protein. The rest of the items (saffron basmati rice, supergreens, tzatziki, harissa, pickles, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, etc.) were great. The harissa paste is flavorful and spicy! Soft pita is included as a side and you can also purchase fried pita. Although the fried pita is better seasoned, it tastes greasy. Service was quick and all the items were stocked. Overall, I enjoy coming here for a quick, nutritious meal and recommend it to others! read more

I visited CAVA and placed my order at 9:21 PM, well before the restaurant's closing time of 10:00 PM. I ordered the Honey Harissa Chicken, but the cook behind the counter informed me that it was unavailable and that only plain chicken was left. However, as a former CAVA employee, I know that making Honey Harissa Chicken simply requires mixing one scoop of harissa with one scoop of honey--something that was always done when I worked there to ensure all proteins remained available until closing. It's concerning that certain proteins seem to become unavailable before closing, even when a simple solution exists to prepare them. This is frustrating for customers who expect the full menu to be available until the posted closing time. If certain proteins are not served after a specific time, this policy should be clearly communicated online or in-store rather than leaving customers uncertain about what will be available. I hope management addresses this inconsistency to improve the customer experience. read more

This time around we went at 4:30 on a Sunday and the place was out of all types of lettcue but spinach. They were out of alot of meat options and some sauces. It really sucked because you come in expecting it but they literally were out of a wide selection of options. They no longer ask if you want to have the pita bread that each bowl comes with. I always have to ask for it. Which means if you didn't know it came with it you would not get it. Speaking about the pita bread, it has become smaller every year and no longer served fresh and warm but cold. I am hoping this locations gets better like it use to be. Just because I wasn't physically in the store doesn't mean my order should be any less carefully prepared. The "drizzle" of Skhug sauce was not accurate - the entire bowl was drowned in Skhug and I couldn't even tell if they gave me any crazy feta or taziki because of it. If I could give zero stars, I would. I've been here before and decided to give it another try, but unfortunately, this visit was somehow worse than the last. I politely asked about crisps literally just a simple question because last time they didn't have any and it's my favorite thing from cava. I have literally had the worst day ever my and all I wanted was cava bowl I finically got paid today and was like let me splurge. Instead of a normal, respectful response, I was met with attitude and condescension. The employee actually argued with me, saying I asked "about something else," as if that excused the rudeness. What really sealed the experience, though, was hearing them taking about us as we were leaving. That's when it became clear that basic customer respect just isn't a priority here. Maybe it was because of being an ethnic person but I'd love to think otherwise, but after today, it's hard not to wonder. Truly disappointing. Never been until this afternoon as I am generally not a fan of fast casual assembly food or chains but the lamb meatball and roasted vegetable lentil bowl I got this afternoon was quite tasty. Didn't know any pita came alongside it so didn't ask for it, so that's a bummer but oh well. Service was fine although the young woman doing the scooping was very hesitant to actually give a full scoop worth of anything even the free toppings so I had to politely ask for more to even get more than a scant amount. Cava used to be my absolute favorite restaurant of all time. It was a guaranteed go to winner for lunch or dinner. The staff was always kind and helpful, even when they were busy. Over time it's easy to see how they've started to try and skimp out on things - for example, they used to have a full pita bread with each bowl. It then downgraded to a half, and is now currently a small slice of pita. It's dry and not nearly as good as before. As for the ingredients, somehow they manage to run out of salads or greens to go in the bowl, and the past 3 times I've gone, my entire bowl gets soaked because there's just so much juice from the toppings. Keeping my review at a 4 stars because I know the potential and what it used to be and hopefully they can meet standard expectations. Will continue to go occasionally to see if they get back to that it once was. read more

The large black lady on the line served about 10 people in line ahead of me and when I was next up, she walked away, never acknowledged me, never looked at me or spoke to me. She stood over by the grill and didn't look busy or in any hurry to wait on me. There were no smiles from either her or the guy who cleaned the grill and was near the line and stared at me twice while I was waiting in line. After about 3-4 min waiting for her to acknowledge me, which she never did and never came back to the line to serve me, I walked out. There was no one in line behind me. I went to Chipotle where plenty of people were working and there was no line and I had immediate assistance when I walked in. I love the food at CAVA but won't tolerate the rudeness and obvious lack of decent customer service that bordered on hostility. I only mention she was a large, black woman to help identify her--she should not be working with the public. read more

The staff was super helpful, friendly, and patient with me while I asked several questions trying to decide on what to get. I went with a personalized bowl, and oh man I think I have a new favorite restaurant! It was so delicious! Everything was so very flavorful! The quality seemed great and everything seemed fresh. We were looking for a healthy dinner option and were really impressed with Cava. I did an online order and picked it up. Ordering was easy and the staff was really friendly when picking up the order. I had the bowl with chicken and their right choice rice (a low carb rice alternative made from vegetables) and it was delicious! My husband had the Greek pita and we ordered a kids meal for our son. My new favorite fast service Mediterranean joint! I had quite a few recommendations to try out CAVA but hadn't made it nearby to try it out. Ended up in Cary on a Friday afternoon and suggested CAVA to my husband. He isn't the biggest fan of Mediterranean so he hem hawed a bit before giving in. He was blown away by his food here. He actually said "wow - this is the best Mediterranean food I have ever had". He got spicy chicken in his bowl and I got falafel among our mixture of other ingredients. Everything was super tasty. Unlike other Mediterranean restaurants, we didn't leave with that dehydrated feeling. Woot! Each bowl came with a small pita and while mine was fine, my husband's was charred on the bottom. Normally I would take off a star for this, but decided to go for five with the ease of ordering and cleanliness/organization of the store. We'll be back! read more
