Awesome spot for lunch! I absolutely love Greek food but Cava provides the perfect twist to it that makes it unique. Think- Mediterranean version of chipotle. You get to go down the line and completely customize your order. The staff is super helpful and are always willing to provide you a sample of a new item if you are unsure. Be sure to get the tzakiki sauce. It's the best. I literally get double of it because it's so addicting. I'm certainly going to miss this place while I'm away at college! read more

So I think my previous review got deleted because I know for a fact that I reviewed this place in the past and mentioned the soap bottle in the women's bathroom has no dispenser. It's just a giant bottle that you pour into your hands.. That was months ago and it's still the same. Today I realized they only have a sanitation score of 86 which is TERRIBLE. I can't even believe that's a passing score. When you can get over 100, anything lower than a 97 is basically at risk of food poisoning. The food is good, but they tend to skimp out on the amount you get. For instance, if you order the lamb, they give you four tiny meatballs and only a tiny spoonful of veggies. I am from Charlotte NC visiting family at NC State. I've never tried CAVA before however my family have. Shion, was super helpful and walked me through everything, and was so patient. Shion made my first experience one to remember, so much that I am planning on having CAVA again for my entire family today. I have to be sure to mention, the food was AH-MAZING!!! I am BIG on customer service because when it's done correctly, I am a loyal customer and will repeatedly return to that specific location. I only hope that I can find a location in Charlotte that measure up to what I received yesterday. Got to the restaurant and two employees were pulling a mile long chain of order tickets out of their machine, at least 10 orders. Lots of people waiting, for pick up orders, one person working to go orders. The kitchen line was gross, food all over the floor. Lobby area is gross, the floor is sticky, garbage was overflowing in the bin with a pile of trash sitting on it. I checked their dept of health score and it's a 91. Honestly surprised it isn't lower. I wish I saw his name so he could get a nice shout out. I had been looking around for a good falafel and just order a falafel. I wasn't really sure how big they were or what the order was, but the gentleman was very patient and helpful. Went there for a special occasion a few months back. What a treat and what an experience. The food was great, friendly staff and we might have had an issue with one of the plates, but they quickly worked to get it fixed. Honestly, I will never eat at chipotle ever again. I came here on a whim due to a suggestion from my friend. Looking at the menu online I wasn't really impressed but I opted to go inside to just see. I'm so glad I decided to go inside because the food looked amazing!!!! I ended up getting a bowl with pita bread and a mixture of different ingredients. We were excited to see CAVA close to where we live since we went to the one in Chapel Hill and loved it! Casual restaurant with workers behind the counter offering a variety of toppings for a pita sandwich or greens and grains bowl. Nice variety of salad greens to choose from: grains include rice or lentils. Fresh toppings include hummus, eggplant and red pepper, taziki sauce, radishes, and other Mediterranean fare. Protein can be half and half if you can't choose just one! I had falafel and roasted veggies but they also had lamb, chicken and shredded meat. Lots of veggies and fun dressings like lemon tahini which was very refreshing. Even the drinks were refreshing like ginger turmeric lime and caffeine free blueberry soda! Yum! I would have given the restaurant a 5 star if some if the food was warm like the falafel and rice. I absolutely love Cava and am so excited there are now locations in our area. The food is fresh, really tasty and has complex flavors. It always hits the spot. The best things there is the spicy lentil soup, but it's only available in the fall. This is one of those places where you create your own bowl/salad/pita wrap and there are a ton of options...so if you have issues with paradox of choice, then this may not be the place for you. One note: I went here last week and got awful awful food poisoning. I want to believe it was a one-off issue and not a perpetual thing, which is why I'm still giving this location 4 stars. Stroller Status: this location isn't the best place to take a stroller - the space where you order your food is pretty narrow and tight and there isn't much room between tables to park your babies. I go through period of obsessions with food, snacks, restaurants, etc. Well, Cava is the newest one that I've set my sights on. Thankfully, Cava opened in Cary a week or two after I had to start a strict elimination diet due to potential food sensitivities. I was stressing over where I could eat that would actually be favorful, have gluten and dairy free options, and be something that I just ultimately wanted to eat. I was having a hard time enjoying food. Enter Cava. I happened to see that they were open when I was in the area for an errand. I decided to check it out to see if I could make it work with my restrictions. As I was waiting in line, I heard it described as the Chipotle of Mediterranean. This seemed pretty accurate and I liked the ability to go down the line and pick items for my meal. Especially useful given all the restrictions that I had. First decisions: bowl or pita wrap. Well a pita was out because of the gluten, so I went with a splendid greens and brown rice bowl. Threw in some hummus (three scoops of original for me, but you can do an assortment of up to 3 scoops of any of their flavors). Then onto the proteins. I went with the chicken and roasted veggies. I actually had to ask them to avoid the brussel sprouts as I can't eat them, and they were really good at meeting my preferences. After that, most items were pretty much out of scope for me, but they had a huge variety of additional toppings and dressings that old school me would have piled on. The price? My bowls usually come out to $10. It's a very filling meal and I like that I don't even need dressing... the hummus is enough to add a ton of flavor between that and the other spices and herbs used. Their chicken is delicious and I love the roasted veggies. I have since also had their falafels which add a nice bit of flavor and texture. I could see vegetarians having a lot of options there as well. I have since taken multiple co-workers and family for lunch dates, and they are all now hooked as well. In fact, I've bumped into many of my converts on my regular trips in. I think my only issue is the price is a little high given that you can be charged additional for some of the proteins (like the cost for an additional falafel... given I don't load up on everything else because of my restrictions, I feel like it's generally negligible, but I'm also only charged for it a portion of the time. I also skip the complimentary pita so I think throwing in a falafel (not a full serving, just one little nugget) shouldn't be an issue. But like I said, it's not always a charge, and if I was getting an overloaded bowl, I probably wouldn't balk at the price quite so much. And it hasn't stopped me from going there - I have lunch there 1-2 times a week. So, clearly I'm enjoying it. It's a lot of flavor, and I feel healthy and 'on plan' when I'm eating it. It's also a nice change from my normal food allergy meals so I don't mind the treat a couple of times a week. read more

The toppings are unlimited which elevates the flavor profile. The portion size to price ratio is great! Also, there are great drinks like watermelon mint lemonade to add a great finishing touch to a wonderful meal. There was a work function and then lunch was provided. Many options in the vicinity but this was suggested by one member of our group. We decided on it and I'm always looking forward to a new place to eat. Obviously wishing it'd have veg options. We arrived and parking closest to it were all filled. So I parked on the next lot. There were a lot of patrons inside! It was loud and a long line. However, line moved pretty efficiently. I was advised on how to order, since she'd been there before. She knew the items but there were no signs so I still asked. To note: there was an occurrence that should've been dealt with differently. Apparently an employee was not feeling well so the person in charge (in fairness, no description) just said "leave, you sick then go home" . I was able to see and hear that entire interaction. The employee left. So when I ordered, I got a bowl with grain base which they allowed for it to be three. Black lentils, Brown rice and white saffron rice. Then I got the cucumber with tomato topping. The rest I either cannot have or like due to onions. I got hummus and pita bread, which was very good. Falafel. Lastly some crispy tortilla strips and lettuce. They gave me a free cup for water. I really liked their comfortable bowls and cutlery. I will definitely go back. read more
