Chicken shawarma with no tomato but has onions, garlic sauce & some kind of butter sauce RUNNNNN and get it
    Milly W.

1st time visiting and I was grabbing lunch while at work, service was quick & exceptional! when I say the BEST shawarma I've ever had I mean the best & I've tried quite a few. small family owned restaurant & the seasoning on the chicken was soooo good. I also got some Black Forest honey from the small Mediterranean items they have for sell in store.

Best falafel!! Ive been here four times and one time was just to buy like 15 pieces of falafel. All of their sides are vegetarian but are on the oily side. Other than the orzo salad and dips, I don't think i'd keep coming back for the rest of the sides. But you can't ever go wrong with the falafel. The wait for food is kind of long here but I don't really mind it. There's indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of parking. Never have had a problem with service.

I was greeted with a warm smile and genuine welcome. I had questions about the various sides. The server Christy allowed me to sample all of their sides and I was impressed with the freshness and varied flavor profiles of them all. I enjoyed the pleasant, laid-back ambiance of this spot. Family friendly and simple open air space with ample seating inside & outside on the covered patio. Keep in mind, the name of the place. It is a grill and grocery, so they have a plethora of Mediterranean foods and spices on the shelves lining the walls. Shop to your little hearts' content! The food is deliciously amazing. I tried the beef and lamb gyro along with the cabbage salad. Very satisfying. Next time, I want to pig out on the chicken kabobs!

Delicious, authentic, and affordable. Got the lamb and chicken shawarma. Nice serene location. Great service.

This is a really reasonably priced, authentic, cute little restaurant with a grocery store in the back. They always change out their sides-I got an eggplant salad today and it was a bit on the smaller side, but I really enjoyed. The entree itself was a great size and I got a free drink too. Great and quick service too.

Came here on our way to Durham as we were craving Middle Eastern food. Restaurant is in an older shopping center and does not look very impressive from the outside. We ordered at the counter and the food was made to order. It came out very hot and fresh with a big portion. The lamb cubes were very tender and full of flavor, and the kofta was also tender with a little bit of a kick to it. Plenty of basmati rice that came with the meat with fresh herbs and spices. There are groceries available as well from canned beans to bagged spices to desserts and some refrigerated and frozen items.

Great little restaurant! It's super authentic and has a grocery store in the back. The food tasted fresh and had a lot of different flavors and sauces. I would say the one thing is I wish they had more variety. Other than the sides the main items never change.

Gyro & a side of stuffed grape leaves.

I had a taste for a gyro and this place has about the best in the Triangle. The staff is friendly and everything is made to order. I asked for extra sauce on mine and they definitely added more! Yum! I also added a side of stuffed grape leaves and a drink to make it a combo. It was all delicious!

Excellent gyros! Packed with tender slices of meat, and rightous amount of lettuce and tzatziki sauce. Soft pita. Can't beat it. Fast, friendly service.

We can't believe we have lived five minutes away from here for the last year and are just now trying it. It's definitely a hidden gem. We got take out this go around. The staff was friendly and fast. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. Might be the best Mediterranean food I have ever had and the prices are excellent! There is also a grocery area to check out. Seating is indoor and outdoor and the atmosphere is very charming. Definitely will be back again.

    Falafel Sandwich with hummus
    Vraj P.

I was craving some Mediterranean food in Durham and when looking on Yelp this place came up. I ended up getting the falafel sandwich with hummus on the side. Let me just say some of the best falafel I've had in the triangle. Perfectly crisp and very well seasoned. The hummus was the perfect consistency and paired well with the pita and falafel. My friend also got the fries and the seasoning on them were great! When I was driving to the restaurant I was very confused at first since it's in the middle of a couple neighborhoods. However do not let the looks confuse you since the food is great. Plenty of parking and seating when I went on Friday night. Prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. Food took slightly longer but it seems like they make everything fresh so makes sense. Overall, probably one of my favorite if not my favorite Mediterranean restaurants in the area and will definitely be back. A must try!

The towing situation in this lot feels predatory, and Whole Foods appears to have little to no control over it. I parked with the full intention of shopping, briefly stepped away with my dog, and returned within about 35-40 minutes--only to find my car had been towed. Staff couldn't even tell me where my vehicle was, and the on-site security was no help and seemed unaware of what was going on. Because Whole Foods doesn't allow dogs inside, I had no choice but to remain outside while trying to figure out what happened. I was left stranded, with my wallet inside my car, and had to pay for an Uber and $230 in towing fees--meaning I had to prioritize retrieving my car instead of buying groceries. What's most frustrating is that Whole Foods positions itself as a premium, customer-focused store, yet the parking situation does not reflect that at all. There is a clear lack of coordination between the store, security, and whoever is enforcing towing in the lot. This experience was stressful, avoidable, and completely unacceptable. It felt less like customer support and more like a system that allows predatory practices to happen right outside the store. Please be mindful where you park; be sure to travel with soenone! I would never want someone else to go through this--especially someone alone in that situation.

Back in the day before the pandemic (and maybe they still have this?), they'd have nights where there was a select menu and you could have a weeknight meal for an affordable price. Kind of like Cafeteria food. They gave you coins to pay for it, and the turn out was always so robust. It was a really nice way to get the community together and also try dishes that you probably hadn't had in a while, or even ever. I remember those events, being the talk of the town. My friends would mark on their calendars that it was a "no-cook night" and to meet them there. Fun times. I've been meaning to sign up for their owners program, that is on my to-do list. By donating a certain amount to the co-op, you become a founding member and help support the co-op. It's a sweet way to be involved and invest in the Durham community. I also love the parking situation at the co-op, you are never fighting for a place to park, and the parking spots are not razor thin. At the front of the store, there is a grassy area with picnic benches, and I find it so inviting. People are having lunch dates there, sharing snacks, and just enjoying the weather. I will say though, the co-op is one of those places that I have to remember to go to. Now that I'm writing out all that I love about it, I will continue to keep it on my mind.

Although it's a relatively small store, they pack a lot into it, and the set-up encourages the flow of traffic to proceed in a predictable manner, which makes the shopping experience much more pleasant. They are very well-staffed, and even when its quite busy, the lines for check-out move quickly (and they have a lot of lanes). The music is at an appropriate level, too, which is always appreciated. My only complaint is that they seem to have stopping carrying the meatless meatballs, which as your local vegan is rather devastating (imo, TJs meatless meatballs are some of the best in class). Maybe, but you'll likely need to swing by Wegmans or Harris Teeter for fresh produce. Still, when it comes to frozen meals, snacks, and quick bites, Trader Joe's is unmatched.
