New pita is terrible. I have no idea why they changed it. It's small and has no flavor. Please bring the old one back!

I'm a big Cava fan but this location is horrible. Ordered tonight and 3 out of 4 bowls were less than half full, rice was burnt, 2and 2 of 4 orders were incorrect. This has happened more than once at this location. When calling the store multiple times to discuss, there was no answer. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT WAVERLY!! I've always enjoyed CAVA's food but my particular grievance is with the customer service at the Charlotte Waverly location. The employee making our food never once had a pleasant attitude and kept rushing us even though no one else was in the restaurant. They were out of every other ingredient we asked for (which is not a problem at all), but even when telling us that, he said it in a harsh tone as if we should've felt bad for even asking in the first place. At the end, he gave me a water cup, but I wanted a larger amount of water so I reached for a taller plastic cup. He thought I was out of earshot but both my friend and I heard him mutter "I hate her" under his breath. I went to fill up my cup but circled back to the cashier to ask for a lid. He rudely asked "Are you going to pay for that?" (referring to my still empty cup) I was surprised and asked "I need to pay for a larger cup of water?" and he rudely replied "Yes." At this point, I paid and yet still got water (NOT soda) . If I really wanted to scam you, wouldn't I have gotten a soda after PAYING $3 for it? I genuinely just wanted a larger glass for water--is that too much to ask for? Also, it would have been a different story for him to politely explain that maybe it's store policy to pay for a larger glass regardless of what is in it, but instead I was treated very rudely and prejudged that I was trying to lie. This is not about the money--this is about treating a customer like a decent human being. A piece of advice for this employee: if you are going to say you hate a customer, you should wait until they can't hear you. read more

Good food but horrible service. We ordered online and have been waiting 20 minutes beyond our scheduled pickup time. The poor workers are overwhelmed. They need much better organization but we won't be back for a long, long time. The University location is better run. read more

I have been coming to this location the past 4 weeks and let me say I am very impressed. The workers are very accommodating and quick. Bella was very sweet and helped my kids with their confusing orders. I highly recommend taking a trip to cava, you won't be disappointed. read more

I stopped off for take-out bowls for the family on a Friday niggt. my Husband said it was "pretty good", but my Mother and I didn't like ours at all. The proteins (beef and chicken) both had a very odd texture. It was off-putting so I doubt we'll go back. read more

I've eaten here at least once a week since they opened this location and have been a huge fan of Cava. Last night, I made my once a week trip there. I ordered my food ahead of time on the app because I like the convenience of the drive thru. I ordered my favorite - greens and grains with chicken. I woke up in the middle of the night with food poisoning. I had food poisoning about two years ago so I know that is what I got from eating here. It's such an awful and disgusting feeling. Unfortunately, I will not be eating here again due to the fact something went wrong between the time my food was made and when I ate it. read more

Unbelievably poorly run business. We ordered from them a week ago and they were out of large pita bread, so they gave us mini pita bread. We figured, hey, it happens and life goes on. Food was fine, nothing spectacular. Fast forward to today, and they're out of all pita bread. A Mediterranean restaurant out of pita bread. They asked if we wanted to convert it to a bowl, so we agreed. What option did we have? We placed the order half an hour before online and gave them ample time to call us. Their idea was a bowl that didn't replace the pita with grain. They lumped it on some garbage looking lettuce. Won't be back. Like much of Waverly: a disappointment. read more

Love Cava! We visited in opening day and really enjoyed our food. The couple of bad ratings seem unfair, as the place is so new and needs some time to get in the groove. At this point, we've become regulars, having been at least a dozen times. The staff on each of my visits were friendly and helpful. They know the menu and meal ingredients well, and I always ask. The restaurant is clean and seems to be better organized now that they have been in business for a bit now. My only complaint, which I can't take stars for, is the outside seating is directly In the sun, and this time of year, makes it blistering hot. I'd recommend umbrellas for the outdoor tables. Let me start by saying that I am so happy that this is available in Waverly. It is a solid restaurant with a lot of great food. The atmosphere is a little frenetic, with the music and lack of service. You order at the counter and they build it as you go. Unfortunately, nobody stopped by our table to ask if everything was alright. My BULD YOUR OWN BOWL was really good. Flavorful. Great lime dressing. A few things that caused me to give this a three rating. They offer no sweeteners other than plain sugar packs. No pink. No yellow. No blue. No green. Very uncool. Also, it seems that their pita bread is not made in house, unlike at Yafo Kitchen. The noise level was really a bit much. There should have been someone who checked with us during our meal. It's the little things that make a difference and they could make a few adjustments to make this a four or five star rating! In many ways, it did remind me a lot of Yafo Kitchen. Started coming here with my brother for around 3 solid months, 2-3 times per week. In that time, this place was absolutely amazing, and my favorite things were the quantity, and price. Slowly over time the portion sizes started to shrink_ Ex_They used to give you HUGE spoon fulls of food... Now the portion sizes have been cut in half. They are ALWAYS OUT OF SOMETHING, and the service is unprofessional. The worst part about this place... CUSTOMER SERVICE! They are by far the worst, and rudest WORKERS I've ever encountered. The workers make you feel Terrible if you ask for more scoops. Me, my brother, and friends all feel like (WE THE CUSTOMERS) don't matter at all. Not friendly what so ever. Lastly... They have scoop limits of arguably the cheapest food in the world (RICE), which is just ridiculous. Guys it's RICE... just give me 2-3 more scoops than the 1 1/2 scoop you give me, which barely fills the bottom of the bowl. I've been eating Cava for a long time and this is hands down the worst. I got a falafel bowl that had no falafel. I live too far away to drive back to get them to correct it and the woman that answered the phone said they can't do anything. My sister and I went to this Cava location in Waverly and got the absolute best customer service ever! Not only did we get there 14 mins before closing but Marcus and the team were so nice and didn't make us feel rushed. They even dropped some fresh Falafel for me. I've had bad experiences at other Cava locations in Charlotte, but the one in Waverly is the best one in my opinion. Fresh food & excellent customer service. CAVA Location Waverly Message I love Cava and am a frequent customer but have noticed the past 2-3 times a lack of good management of this location. Today, 12/26 I was there at 6pm for in person dining with my husband and the following was happening: garbage overflowing from the bins inside, the car line to pick up orders not moving because there were only 2 people working that area and they couldn't handle the rush, and at least a line of 8 families long waiting inside to order plus others waiting inside to pick up-another 5. There were only 3 people working the front of the restaurant and that was not enough to serve guests and keep food stocked, so many things were "unavailable". My husband couldn't get harissa chicken, red onions, avocado, and other things like pita strips that had not been restocked. This is unacceptable. We have also noticed a general stinginess when putting food on an order as you go through the items. The workers at this location appear pretty unhappy and not very welcoming /friendly-probably stressed from not enough people working and food running out. Love CAVA food, and have ordered online for delivery without any real issue, but I went into the location today and almost no one there, but it was so dirty. Trash cans over flowing outside, trash and dirty tables everywhere. Nothing has ever been wiped down inside. The food area where they fill the bowls, etc was a complete dirty disaster. At least 5 people working, but standing around upon arrival. Not very friendly. Location is not old, it was nice when it first opened, but looking run down now. Management should really be ashamed of themselves. Not sure I can trust the food safety with everything else so poorly kept. read more

First time at Cava withy husband and 2 year old and it was so much better thank I thought it would be. The chicken was flavorful without being spicy. There are a lot of vegetable options that you don't traditionally find other places. Overall, super clean and the staff was friendly. First off, the food is good. The overall experience was horrible. RUDE when first greeted by the girl who worked there. I have no idea who hired or trained them on customer service but they need a complete overhaul in how to treat customers. What a shame. The portions were okay. I appreciated the unlimited toppings option. The place was filthy. No clean tables or chairs so we ended up wiping them down with napkins ourselves. I ordered cava to go and my wife picked up our bowls. I paid extra for the lamb meatballs and they put one in there. One meatball! They barely put any toppings in there and very little rice compared to what I usually get. I don't know if they just say screw the to go orders and only give you your money's worth when you go in, but my bowl wasn't worth the $12+ I paid for. Absolutely ridiculous. Unfortunately one of the staff assembling orders, repeatedly handled credit cards and food using the same gloves at least 8 or more times. They did not stop to change their gloves after ringing people up at the register and would jump right back into making food--diving their soiled gloves into salad, pitas chips, and other prepared foods. They also wiped their face/nose area with gloves instead of using forearm. This was off putting for sure. If I was by myself I would have left immediately. Been here a couple times because their salad is amazing. I always get it with chicken and add my favorite toppings with greek dressing on it. The only thing I dislike in CAVA is the straws they use for their drinks is like drinking out of paper. I know were trying to save on plastic but, your giving me a plastic cup for my drink. The fresh lemonade is awesome but those straws got to go. Also the utensils it is the same thing every bite its like tasting a bit of paper..yuck. By the way you have to say for here because you will get that paper like bowl too. Tables and floors get a bit messy during lunch time so cleanliness is not to good. read more

New place!! Need to try it! It's kind of a fast casual meaning you go up and order your food then go get your drinks and sit down and enjoy your food! It's a healthy option for sure! They have bowls or pitas they also have soup! I got the pita and soup combo! I love tomato soup and it was delicious! BUT, it was spicy! I was sweating, nose running the whole nine yards but it did have good flavor! The pita can be layered with one of 6 spreads and then you pick a protein, you can also add grain or beans if you like, then you pick out veggies or other toppings and may add a dressing on top! It was very delicious! I got an iced tea which they have several to choose from. It was around $9 which I think is very reasonable! I will be back soon!! read more

It was hard for me to even give this place a rating and they do not even get a single star from me. Honestly if I could give them zero stars in this app then I would. The one guy who was working there was extremely rude from the moment my girlfriend and I walked into the restaurant. When we finished ordering, payed for the meal, and walked away I looked over my shoulder and saw the guy working the cashier give me a smirk. Him as well as two other women accused me of stealing a brownie when I emptied my pockets and everything showing them that I stole nothing (and I would NEVER do that). If I could give zero stars I would. Gone down hill and won't be back. And here's why. Every time we come the price is never the same despite and itemized receipt. They did away with their braised lamb and to pay $1.60 for a couple of lamb meatballs is not worth it. Their chicken is always dry. They continually give less and less greens and grains. Their pita bread is now cut into a small triangle. They are constantly behind and understaffed even before COVID. They are always out of napkins, straws, fresh drinks, garbage is always over flowing, tables have black mold on surface on top of food and trash because they are too busy to do anything but work the line. Many times they are out of protein or toppings and it's a wait as they frantically run around trying to keep up. Their roasted veggies are either burnt or still hard and undercooked. There are always new employees because who would want to constantly work in this shit hole under the amount of stress they are for the little pay they receive. I have the utmost sympathy for the employees but this is the last time I will support them. Sincerely someone who used to frequent weekly and leaving hungry this time. Sorry to say this. We were looking for quick, better for you options last night. Went inside to order this time. We've ordered before and picked up at the dive through. Food was decent so this time we decided to go inside. When we went in the trash cans were overflowing, the tables were dirty and then to the counter we went. The 2 employees behind the counter kept their backs toward us as if they didn't want to help or be there. Basically ignoring us. We looked at the food and was completely turned off. The food in the containers were all over the counter and overflowing into each other. Disgusting! We were so discouraged from the lack of cleanliness that we had to leave. Completely lost my appetite... Until this place gets cleaned up and the personnel is a little more welcoming, we will not be back....Will continue to watch other reviews for any improvements... so much potential to be a great option for this area! read more

UPDATE: Usually I love CAVA, but today my experience was awful. They were out of everything, from romaine lettuce to many toppings. The vegetables were mostly just carrots and barely roasted. They gave me barely any toppings or protein so they could conserve as much as they could. I received a bowl that I did not even like, and that is very rare for me at CAVA. Maybe it was just a bad day, but I think that the employees need some more training. read more
