My greens and grains bowl was quite good, a good amount of liquid collected at the bottom though. But the ingredients are always fresh and of high quality. My favorite drink is their lime cucumber mint, it's just incredibly refreshing and tastes really healthy. And I do give them props for their service. I had arranged for an 11:45 am pickup, but I arrived 15 minutes early and they were quick to get my order together. They were kind enough to give me a paper receipt. read more

Sadly, this is a very messy Cava location. Their bowls are one of my favorites, and I order out from them often or go to locations around the city. This one needs serious improvement. I came in an hour before close, and there was food everywhere and the containers were all cross contaminated. It looked gross and dirty. The workers were disinterested in customer service, and didn't seem well taken care of. They lazily slopped my bowl together, and I paid. I ate it as fast as possible and left because it felt dirty and sticky eating in there. A fly even visited my bowl. Needless to say, I don't recommend this location. read more

I created my own bowl featuring greens, right rice, a mix of proteins and all the veggies that caught my eye. I love that you can create your own bowl, see the nutrition info on the site, and enjoy a really filling meal that is actually good for you. Our order for 4 people came within and hour and everyone enjoyed their meals. There was one meal that came a lot lighter on the serving size than two of the other bowl, which was odd. I finally was able to try CAVA for the very first time. I went just to grab a quick dinner on a Friday night, just before closing. I knew this place had to be pretty good because the line was steady, even before closing and people kept coming in! The restaurant seemed pretty clean, and customer service was nice, as I was greeted as soon as I got in line. At first glance, I honestly underestimated the portion sizes, given that I thought the dinner bowls used weren't big enough for my appetite. Boy, was I wrong! The dish I got, definitely hit the spot, and that was before the addition of adding pita bread as a side. I didn't even bother getting a drink. Honestly? This restaurant model reminds me of Chipotle, but with a Mediterranean twist. You get to select what food option you want, and then walk down a line picking and choosing veggie toppings you want after your choice of greens, rice, and/or what proteins are added to your dish. I am only giving this 5 star review because of Ashanti. Her customer service is top tier and she is always pleasant when I come in. She greets and acknowledges everyone when they walk into the restaurant, unlike her co-workers who ignore the customers. Once I went in for lunch and stood in line for about 15 minutes while three staff members stood behind the counter talking to each other. No one looked up to greet me or tried to help me. I left from frustration. Whoever the manager is, he or she should do a better job at training the staff or allow Ashanti to train them. read more

Parking at the metro is always tricky so took us a few minutes to find parking. Came here on a Saturday and the line wasn't long at all and was served pretty fast. Seating was easy to find and many open tables available, the atmosphere was chill and nothing special. Their food was good and held my hunger down until dinner. The service at this Cava has gotten worse over the last couple of months. My sister and I visited this location 15 minutes apart and both had terrible experiences with the person preparing the food as well as the cashier. The cashiers attitude was so strong I could feel it over the counter. I was very polite when I asked her for the free pita that came with my salad and she made me wait 2-3 minutes even though the pita was just a few ft from her and she had no one in her line. I felt as though she was upset I asked her to do something the person preparing the food may have been responsible for. I use to work in the service industry so I know everyone is supposed to be a team player and if a customer politely asks you for something you should get it done without an attitude. Also, the salad bowl I was given was wilted and the chicken was dry. This has been the 3rd time in a row the food has not been up to the Cava standard I'm use to which means it's time to either try a new location or a different Mediterranean chain. read more

Whoever owns the location may want to invest in some training for staff. Inquired about a military discount today which they said they don't have which is fine although the location on South Blvd has given me a 50% discount in the past. What was unacceptable was the guy in the back loudly joking about how cheap people are asking for discounts then proceeded to make fun of military and health care workers for asking about discounts which are very much standard at many corporate establishments. Soft grand opening! This was a perfect way to stay socially distanced but enjoy a nice new eatery. Staff opened the doors for us, checked us in, and explained each detail. I got a bowl and customized it myself, however I did look at the chicken and rice bowl for a bit of guidance. I loved the corn! I also enjoyed the harissa chicken, it says spicy but it wasn't - just perfect. I do not handle spice well. The green vinaigrette was the cherry on top! Cava is typically great, but I would recommend trying a different location in Charlotte. I found the staff at the Metropolitan location to be apathetic and in need of training or management oversight. The rice was crunchy and they were out of regular chicken. It seemed they were running low on several items but didn't look to replenish them until they were totally gone, as I saw other people's orders being made with the very last remaining toppings in each bowl. When I got to the toppings, they needed to get more feta cheese for my order. I saw the team member replace the feta cheese, then put olives which had been dropped from the serving bowl onto the counter top back into the olive bowl to serve customers. I genuinely don't know if this is acceptable from a food sanitation standpoint, but I was very glad I didn't have those olives in my order. I was never asked what dressing I wanted before the top was put on my order...not a big issue as the top could be removed and dressing added, but it felt like I was being rushed to the register. read more
