Food is always amazing. I love the build your own greens and grains bowl. It's delicious every time I go. The pita chips are so good and are perfect with my bowl. I stop by at least once a week. I love that they stay open until 10. I've never tried the drive thru but now that I'm a regular I should. The restaurant is clean. I park right outside of the building. I've never had a problem with the staff as they are working yet still kind. Keep up the good work guys! read more

Let me start this out by saying that I've had a couple successful orders before today. I ordered online for car pick up today a bowl and a pita with a side of pita. We bring it home and notice that the side pita that was 2 dollars is missing. Okay, whatever. Then I open the bowl and take a bite and the rice is either very very old or not cooked because it was hard as rocks. I never do this but I went back (10 minute drive) and complained because I could not eat it. They made me a new bowl with cooked rice but the manager gave me an email to send my receipt to. She said she had no power to give a refund which seems pretty ridiculous to me. Will definitely not be back for a long while. read more

I have been to this location several times. Each time I am less and less impressed. I wish I could leave no stars. We used the restrooms before ordering, they were filthy. We should have left then, but we were very hungry and have enjoyed Cava in the past. The gentleman that greated us seemed like we were bothering him. Thankfully a young woman finished our order and she was very friendly. After paying we needed forks, napkins etc. The napkin dispensers were all empty but one. There were two forks left. The restaurant looked like it hadn't been cleaned or stocked in days. The floor was sticky, the tables were gross. I was shocked people were actually sitting inside eating! It could not have been a staffing issue as one employee was leaning against the wall looking at his phone. There were only about three tables so it was not crowded. We are so bummed because Cava used to be very good. I hope that they can get it together. But we won't know as we will not be returning. read more

This place is a mediterranean version of Chipotle. You create your own meal by adding items as you proceed through the line. It can be pretty confusing because they do not explain how many of each type of option you are allowed to add. Also, the list of items to add is usually at the end of each station, so by the time you notice it, you have probably already added your ingredients. You start with a grain bowl, salad, or pita. You also have the option to do half and half. I went with a grain bowl ($9.57) with the saffron basmati rice as my base. Then, you are allowed to select up to 3 types of dips/spreads. If you don't ask and if this is your first time, you might think that you are only allowed to select one. I went with tzatziki, hummus, and roasted red pepper hummus. Next is protein. This was confusing. Initially, I was told that I could select 2 types of proteins, but after the staff member added my meatballs, she quickly passed my bowl onto the next staff member. I guess I was not getting my second meat. I felt cheated. Perhaps she meant that I could do a half and half with my protein and just assumed that I wanted only meatball? Onwards to toppings, where you can choose as many as you like! I love having colorful meals; it usually means I'm eating healthy. I had tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage slaw, onions, crumbled feta, and a lemon wedge. Finally, you can top it off with a dressing or ask for the dressing to be on the side. I had the lemon herb tahini. In total, my meal was delicious. I was satisfied with my portion size and with the fresh ingredients. However, the entire process is very confusing. read more

CAVA is pretty much a Mediterranean version of Chipotle where you can pick what goes in your bowl with a base, proteins, toppings, and sauces. I feel that overall the food and service were both mediocre and what is usually expected of a take out / fast food restaurant. The freshness of the ingredients (vegetables and meats) were a 5/5. I also felt that the portion size for $9 was very good and a 5/5 since it really fills you up. The flavors of the dressing and the dips/spreads were also a 5/5 for me. However my review lacks the last two stars because I feel like the menu should include more suggestions and that the staff need a bit more training. As someone who isn't familiar with any of the ingredients on the menu or Mediterranean ingredients, I was completely confused on what to put on my bowl. I also work at a similar style of restaurant where you can "build bowls" and our menu has signature bowls to help people who are unfamiliar with the cuisine. I think adding that to the menu would make it easier for customers. Secondly, I was hesitant to make this complaint in my review since CAVA is still relatively new and I understand that many of the staff might still be in training, BUT I asked for clarification on what certain items (dips/sauces) were on the menu to a staff member and they could not even name what I was pointing to and could not even identify what the item was hence not being able to answer my question of how it tasted like. The employee didn't even ask someone else to help. I really think that the basic training should cover at least being able to name what you're serving especially ambiguous sauces/dips that most customers would be confused by. Overall the food was decent, probably a 4/5. And the menu and service was a 3/5. CAVA is nothing to go crazy over but I'm willing to come back to see if any improvements have been made since it's still a very new restaurant. read more

I've have been going to this location for the past few months and it's literally something almost every time I go in there. Tonight I went in, 3 people were in front of me which was fine. ONE employee was working the line to create the bowls and to check out the customers which created the line to back up and not get customers helped in a timely manner. Meanwhile I counted 4 other employees in the facility but not helping the one employee creating the bowls/wraps and checking customers out to help move customers out more quickly. Also, when it came time for the sauces/dressings I asked for Garlic dressing. He put some on and I asked for extra along with a side cup of extra garlic. The employee noticed the bottle was empty and said "oh we are out, we don't have anymore." I said "you don't have anymore period in the back etc.?" And he said "nope" I think just to get me checked out since there was a line of 4 people waiting on food to be made behind me. Then I went to get my drink and 3 of the juices (strawberry, lemonade and cucumber) were all out and empty. The place is just in such disarray practically every time I go in there. The drink area is always a mess and the high school employees just do not care. I wish the manager or franchisee would put more care into this location and it's employees, my family and I will not be coming back to this location for a while! read more

Great idea but this location is poorly run. 2nd visit and similar experience both times. The tables and floors are always dirty. It's middle of the afternoon with a dozen people behind the counter, only a few tables occupied with guests, and I can't find a clean table to sit at - I'm counting at least 12 or so that are unfit to sit at. Staff appears to be poorly trained. Open until 10pm but at 3:00 they are "out" of clean bowls, and several topping items and no one knows what to do about it, nor is any consideration offered. Every time I've been there in last 6 weeks, I have had to wait for them to start making my order. Today was absolutely horrible. I had to wait 30 minutes from the pick up time to get my food. That pita sandwich is so good and the flavors hit every corner of your mouth- so satisfying. We've gone two days this week and we had Derrick in the order taking position. Was excited to try this new place which, now having been there, would compare it to Chopt but Mediterranean style. I was impressed by their offerings. They were generous with the toppings offered on your salad and/or grain bowl. I had the falafel, which was a bit different the the traditional, but it was a nice change up. I was so excited to see this Cava being built and now opened! I have been to many Cava locations, I travel in VA and MD a lot and there are many Cava locations there. I love their food, I love their customer service, I love everything about them! They do a great job of training their staff to help you with you meal creation. As described MANY times by others, they are a Mediterranean version of Chipotle. It is so customizable, you can make your meal a little different each time if you want. They also change out some of their items based on the season so you get some new choices. I can't recommend this place enough, go try it! We always enjoy CAVA for a good healthy meal. This location has always left a lot to be desired. So after not frequenting this location for over six months because of a lack of cleanliness and poor quality food, we gave it another shot. Nothing has changed. We visited on 12/7 around two hours before closing. The restaurant in general was a filthy mess. Not a clean table to be seen. Behind the counter, it appeared the staff was cleaning up for a quick exit two hours later at closing time. There was food, containers, dirty utensils and you name it on the prep table behind the counter. At the counter, the food looked like it hadn't been freshened up in quite some time - dry and food all over the place between the containers from when they scoop it out. However, the items we wanted seemed acceptable enough for us give it a try. The rice, while fresh in the middle, was surrounded by dry clumps from them filling the container vs. changing it out. The gentleman who helped us was very friendly and engaging which is why the two stars vs. zero (I know, zero is not an option). He gladely scooped from the middle and avoided the dried rice. And so it went with the remaining topings. We avoided the protien except for the chicken which looked fresh. The other meats looked like they had been in there all day. We got our bowls to-go and ate at home. They were actually pretty good tasting. However, by morning, both me and my wife were sick from food posioning. There was no doubt Cava was the source. I should have listened to my gut (no pun intended) and walked out when we saw how dirty the place was. We won't be going back to this location. read more

This used to be my favorite restaurant. It has gotten sloppy really quickly. I ordered a side of carrot sticks for my child and it was huge chunks of inedible carrots. Then the lamb meatballs and regular meatballs were severely undercooked. The mint leaves were brown and all FOUR of their home made lemonades tasted like there had been cleaning chemicals left or unrinsed from the lemonade makers. Just very pungent. No one in my family would drink them. I would ask for my money back but the gal at the drive thru window was not the friendliest.
