So I kind of hate to do this review but I feel like being fair I must. I have been coming here for years and I have always felt it was very good. I hadn't been here in nearly a year and my friend wanted to go somewhere else but I said no this is better. Well unfortunately things changed. The service is great. The atmosphere is great. The food however is meh now. To be fair the complimentary beans and pita are very good and a very nice extra. The spanakopita was delicious. The lemon chicken orzo soup was okay. Not bad. Nothing to write home about. The gyro used to be juicy and have that great roasted flavor you're used to from it spinning over the heat and being sliced off. The gyro and gyro platter we had this visit were not like that. I have read other reviews saying it was frozen or steamed or prepackaged and I read the owner's comments about how it is made in house and people rave about the flavor. I used to be one of those folks. But now I understand the comments. It DID taste steamed and not broiled. It didn't have that grill/broiler flavor. It was also not as flavorful as it used to be. And maybe because of how it was heated. It truly did taste like it has been microwave reheated. Certainly it didn't taste like it was broiled or cooked with a flame of any sort any time recently. Aside from that the lettuce and tomatoes sauce and pita were fine. We had the spicy feta cheese appetizer dip with pita too. That was very good. My friend had the grilled chicken with Greek salad and was very unhappy. She said the meat tasted fine. It was cooked well and had flavor. The issue she said was the salad dressing was unbelievably bland. When you're having a Greek salad, that's an issue. She said it had almost no taste. She took the salad home to finish it there with her own dressing. Yep. So I cannot give this more than 2 stars much as I want to. The quality just isn't the same as when I loved it here. I came here for a week night dinner and had a 5 star meal. The service here is very fast and our appetizers came out minutes after we ordered them. The calamari and taramosalata was excellent. As we were finishing up our appetizers, our main courses came out. I would prefer to get our entrees once we finish our appetizers, as there were too many plates on the table. Nonetheless, the main dishes came in big portions and are excellent. I had the moussaka and really enjoyed it. My mother had the salmon and liked it very much. My son really liked how the steak was prepared and it wasn't too seasoned or salty. My only issue here was when I ordered the moussaka, I asked if there was onion in it and the waiter said no. Then right before food came out, he came out and said that the moussaka has onion, but if I wanted to pick something else I could. I liked how I was given the choice to order something else. Excellent customer service. But on the other hand, I would have liked if the waiter would have known if there was onion, or if he didn't, he would have asked the chef. We got the pizza special with the hot honey SO GOOD. The little feta balls are really tasty, but hot, so be careful! The sauce it came with was honestly so good, we ate it with the pizza. I know what you're thinking, pizza? At a Greek place? YES. 100% yes. The crust was soft and so so crunchy. The place was really pretty and it has its own parking lot, no street parking here! It had beautiful pink flowers and twinkling lights that really adds to the experience. The server was helpful and attentive. I ordered a chicken souvlaki expecting all the usual suspects.. but I did not get what I expected. What I was served was 6 large chunks of chicken breast some burnt and some dry. Very strong Thinly sliced red onion slivers, thinly sliced small very small unripe tomatoes covered with very tasteless taziki sauce it was very light in flavor and it needed salt-and garlic. Served in a pita that was warm fresh and very very chewy.. I took a knife to cut it .. I tried two small bites and left the rest. The pita was stuffed from the bottom to the top. This was my main meal. The sides in the menu are all a'lacart.. so the gyro came alone.. My choice of an appetizer was a block of feta covered with sesame seeds. It was battered and encrusted entirely, fried/ cooked on a flat top? and served hot with clover honey drizzle .. some sweet pitted cherries. My beverage was unsweetened iced tea mixed with lemonade. It was very sweet with no real bite of lemon. The table offering was warm pita triangles with cold very very salty marinated white beans.. I didn't enjoy any of it .. The service was excellent an attentive young man who was very helpful. The Greek ambiance was the music playing.. I saw many dishes being served and on display a very large baklava .. I wouldn't go here again Up side : free parking lot attached to the restaurant. Clean and well decorated.. plenty of staff clearing tables .. very healthy to go service. Lots of pick ups. Two clean bathrooms. They offer pizza ,many appetizers , a selection of souvlakis and gyros and a dinner menu. They also had a lunch menu.. plus a selection of deserts. My three items tallied $35. And change. No discount for cash. Why didn't I like it? The feta was like a dessert very salty cheese very sweet topping, clover honey, rich to say the least.. I've had fried feta that was outstanding. However this dish was too much of everything..heavy and very filling.. appetite killer for me. The white bean side was loaded with creamy little beans.. but so much salt I couldn't eat them. The souvlaki just lacked flavor.. the red onion slivers overpowered everything.. I didn't like the bitter burnt dry chicken pieces.. the pita was tough..the taziki lacked flavor and it smothered every bite . Get it on the side!! I was really looking forward to this but it looks like a chain as there are many here in NJ .. for me the Greek punch of flavor and the homey touch wasn't there. read more

I really want to like this place - back in the day my office wasn't far and we used to order from here. Years passed but I recently stopped by to dine here with an old friend. We started with a Saganaki, which was the best part of our meal. The cheese was tasty, albeit the dish was saltier than I expected. However, it was still very palatable and it was a good start to the meal. I ordered the gyro platter and it was sadly a disappointment. I can see why there were several middling reviews about this place given the high price point relative to the lack of flavor with the dish I chose. This is something I normally get in most Greek restaurants I visit and I thought the food was very bland (in contrast with the saganaki). There was really very little discernible flavor with the gyro itself and the dish in its entirety. The portion was enormous, but sadly the bland food meant it was just a lot of leftovers I didn't end up taking home. The service was fine and I love how there's a really nice parking lot here and the fact they are in a prime location in town. However, given how the prices are here, I would expect some better flavors associated with it. Hopefully this improves as gyros are among my favorite things to eat. read more

After waiting months to dine out, I finally did knowing that this spot has an outdoor seating. I never came here before so I didn't know what to expect, but upon pulling into the side alley, we saw that there was a large seating area set up in the spacious back parking lot- converted for Covid purposes- and there were like 8-10 4-6 people seating tables complete with their parasols providing shades, all adequate distance apart. It looked very inviting so we asked to sit there. Once we sat, it was nice - you know how you pass by a busy area and never think of stopping because in your mind "it's busy"? Yet when you somehow find it's underbelly and sit "on the other side of the situation", you are pleasantly surprised at its calm tranquility and marvel how these two identities are one in the same? Sorry if it was too abstract, but that is how I felt - in the midst of busy sliver between Palisades and Lemoine Ave yet enjoying the tranquility! We got started right away with green salad ($9) and fried zucchini w/ tzatziki ($10) app. Pita bread with chick pea was served with our sparkling water. These alone were so good - that trademark tart vinegary flavor of the salad and the chick pea salad was perfectly balanced by the warm and chewy pita. My wife loved the zucchini's as they were light and golden crisply bite with mouthwatering tzatziki coolness. Our main course was the GTM combo ($35)with gyro, grilled chicken, and grilled pork. You can sub to lamb and shrimp for extra charge too. When initially I tried to drop the pork because my wife isn't a pork fan, the server reminded me that the pork is delicious so that's all I needed to fall in line. When it arrived, we weren't disappointed. Gyro was perfectly seasoned, chicken was juicy, and man that pork! It was succulent, had no pork smell which my wife doesn't like, and was just tasty! Complimenting it was perfectly seasoned golden brown "greek" fries, grilled half green pepper, bed of four quartered pitas to wrap with, and red onion & tomato relishes. While a bit pricey, this entree really made our day! We almost finished everything and just had 30% of the entree with some salad and zucchini to take home. I asked the server to give us some extra pitas. Well, the next day we realized that he gave us four tiny ones (not his fault - we should've just ordered a side of pita bread) and portion was pretty little- only good enough for one person's lunch. It was definitely not as high ROI compared to similar less expensive platters from some Turkish restaurants in cliffside park because those would give both of us a lunch and a snack. I figured that's because this platter has no ground meat stuff. Staff wore masks and gloves and were very respectful of the covid safety. I only wished the GTM was 20% cheaper or give 20% more quantity. But thank you for a great dinner in the cool summer evening! I'm not a big Greek lover. But I do like this place. I don't dine here often, a friend of mine goes here and loves it. We went out a week ago with her, and I gave it another go. 4th for the place in 2 years. I been expanding my Greek/Mediterranean foods for about 3 months now. I do like the Tzatziki to start with, Greek fries and Kolokithakia. All are good on the menu. Greek salad with grilled chicken is good, usually split that at the table. I'm usually the one to just order a gyro and fries. But this time went with the Yemista. This was excellent, properly cooked, delicious both the pepper and tomato that were stuffed with meat/rice. My family has been dining at it's Greek to me and Fort Lee for the better part of three decades. The food is usually very good. I do understand that prices go up gas is no longer five cents. A slice of pizza is no longer a dollar but the meal that I usually get and it's Greek to me over the course of 15 years has gone from $19/$22 to a whopping $60 yes $60 more than the steak at Peter Luger's. So I came here on tuesday because my friend and i have been craving gyros but this is one of only two places that serve gyros so we came here. There's a free parking lot right next to it so that was convinenet. There's plenty of seating inside and has pretty decent decor. We got seated pretty fast and the waiter was quick to take our order, refill our water and get us our check. The gyro was $10 and it was pretty good (and big-couldn't finish it all in one seating). They even gave us free pita bread and beans as appetizers for free. But overall, this place isn't amazing and the price for anything else is extremely overpriced. I most likely won't be back, especially since i don't live in the area and know way better places to eat at near me. I'm giving one stars for the food. It's pretty good! Just don't expect much from the staff, I asked to sit in the sun but because I came alone, I was not given that choice . During my meal I would have liked to order another bottle of water and maybe som fries but nobody came , I would have liked to stay for some Greek coffee and maybe some desert, but I felt shamed for being by myself .
