This is the newer Cava that is located on Shady Grove rd. across from the Home Depot, Red Lobster, Bowlmore etc. It has a Firehouse Subs behind it. I've been here a couple of times recently and have been fairly impressed. Portions are large Service is friendly Food is fresh Food is well seasoned Whenever I've gone, there has been plenty of seating There's like 6 or so juice dispensers - I guess that's like par for the course but it's still something I enjoy about cava. Not that I like drink any of the specialty juices. But I do enjoy having small tastes of all of them before I decide on some form of iced tea or pop product. I really like the seasonal dressing currently. I think it's called Spicy Lime Tahini. It's quite good. I hope that the season is like... all year long... or they just add it to the menu; cause that jazz is legit. Recently they expanded their base offering to include black lentils which is nice. I stick to the Romaine lettuce Lemon Rice Chicken Falafel 2 scoop tzatziki 1 scoop eggplant Every single topping except for the hot peppers and my jazzy jazz dressing. It's a serious bowl. Only reason I'm giving it 4/5 stars is because I felt rushed (lunch hour) to get through the line because the amount of people filing behind me. Employees are very friendly and the place is very nice, put together and clean! The only thing really is the service when it comes to the food; I think it would be super beneficial to have the ingredient cards (used by the employees to make items on the menu) in more languages. Last 2 times I've been, the employee making the dish (one of the pitas) would look at me puzzled as for what to put in it. I'd gesture at the ingredient card provided but I don't believe they could understand it; starting to add random toppings. I would eventually have to try remembering what is it and pointing to each ingredient for them to build it or another team member would come by and translate some of the itemsbut they are very nice and the food is usually good! read more

I do like CAVA and have only had a couple of not so great experiences with one in Hanover. I tried the CAVA at this Rockville off Choke Cherry this evening and all I can say is that it was just okay. I asked for 3 dips to be added and normally I get a.good tablespoon size of each. This location gave me like a half of teaspoon of two and no 3rd dip. The pita bread was too salty and not crispy. And I asked for roasted vegetables. I think they may have given me that tablespoon amount. Not sure if I would go back to this CAVA any time soon or even later. read more

I am in love with CAVA. Everything about it is amazing to me. This was the very first CAVA I ever tried because I was in the area for work and needed a quick lunch. What I love about this one is how friendly the staff are. The employee who helped me could see it was my first time there and let me try so many samples before deciding exactly what I wanted. I didn't even ask for samples; she just gave them to me. She was extremely patient while I decided and I could tell she enjoyed her job by the way she described the different toppings to me and gave me her opinions. The options are the same for every CAVA but I love coming to this one for the service. If you want to know about the food, it's awesome. So many different flavors and textures. Nothing is bland or boring or ordinary. My go-to order is a rice bowl with brown rice, red pepper hummus, eggplant hummus, braised lamb, all the toppings except the banana peppers and olives, lettuce, chips, and feta with green harissa sauce on the side (tastes like mint chutney for my desi folks out there). I love the chips on the side. The drinks are yummy but kind of a rip-off for the size. Actually, the whole menu is on the expensive side but the food is absolutely worth it in my opinion. 10/10 read more

Usually I go to CAVA in Kentlands which is great in service and food. I have been in this location twice and will never go back again!! First, I was the only one in the line and the guy behind the counter totally ignored me for a long time till he started on my order. Second, the bowls and portions are smaller in this location. Third, I ordered a grains and greens bowl with splendid greens. The greens were mostly shredded iceberg lettuce with few red cabbage pieces not the usual CAVA splendid greens of kale, romaine etc. It's a rip off! I suggest you stay away from this CAVA. read more

I love CAVA. So much that I have Foodie status in their rewards program. Sadly, this location really disappointed me! It was my first time at this location so I'm really hoping it was an off-night. I always go for the green and grains bowl, with supergreens and lentils. It was around 7pm on a Friday night, and they somehow ran out of lentils!! That itself peeved me a little, but I moved on with their brown rice which was also good. The thing that bothered me the most though was the staff seemed to really rush you through your order. They don't take their time putting your ingredients in, and it just felt like they wanted to keep the line moving as fast as they could (even though there were only three of us at the time). I'll still come back to CAVA, just not this location. I usually go to the Reston one and haven't had any issues there. read more

I would probably rate this Cava location a 3.5 if I could but I'll settle for 3 stars. This review comes after multiple visits and I'm confident in my rating. My main issue with this Cava location is how rushed the employees make you feel. Every time I come into this location staff are extremely quick to pass your bowl down without taking a moment to make sure it's correct. I definitely don't feel like I get great customer service here. I completely understand that the concept is about fast and good food but instead of messing up my order I would love for employees to take just thirty seconds longer to make sure it is correct. My other issue is consistency. I cannot explain how different my food taste from one order to another's despite always getting the same thing. A great example is the peta bread. Ideally employees ask if you would like one but 3/4 time I've come to this location no one has asked me. I really do love the food here and it's a nice break from everything else in the area. I'm just not super eager for this particular location of Cava. I would honestly rather drive to the Kentlands location. Here's to hoping all he kinks get worked out and this location gets it together. read more

2019 - first time to eat inside (usually do pick-up). Very very noisy at lunchtime, and cold in the winter if you sit by the door. But still - this place is worth the noise and busy'ness! Healthy food and good portions for a fair price, and very friendly and helpful staff. All good. I repeat my "5 star" rating! 2018 - Nice to have this new CAVA in the neighborhood. Well-priced menus with lots of options -- healthy ones and fun ones. Kind of like a Greek version of Chipotle -- order the base, the toppings, the extras... and it all tastes great. Good for eating in or for pick-up. The hummus dishes and bowls (both salad and grain options) are plentiful and delicious. Veggies are fresh, and the dipping sauces are excellent. This Cava is amazing. I probably come here six times per week. The staff is always very friendly and efficient. They run the line extremely well, even during the noon rush when it gets super crowded. Went to CAVA for the very first time and we enjoyed a really nice lunch experience sitting outside! We were just looking for something light, fresh, and satisfying and we hit the jackpot here! We ordered the (chef curated) Chicken Caesar Tahini bowl and a Pita wrap with chicken and fixings with a side of theirs warm, soft, pita triangles. Everything was yummy and full flavored! Both my kids enjoyed their first visit to CAVA and I'm glad they got to experience great food that is simple, yet delightful, and healthy & is not fast food. We will be back! So glad Cava opened a location on Shady Grove Road! Its a good place for me trying to avoid gluten, dairy, or eggs. Their chicken is quite flavorful and love their hummus! So much more variety than Chipotle! The lines at lunch can be quite long, so the fastest way to get your food without standing in line is to download their app and order it online. You can set your time for pick up and presto, your food is all packed up and just go in and pick up your bag. Parking can be problematic, such few parking spaces and there are opening one or two more fast casual places behind Cava? Guess it will be time to park at Mom's Organic and walk over! read more

This Cava is located off of Shady Grove, across the street from the shopping center with Nordstrom Rack and Home Depot. I came here on a Sunday afternoon, it was cold and cloudy, so we did not expect many people to be out. The inside of the restaurant is clean, especially since this is such a new location. The tables are nailed to the floor, so if you have a large party you cannot push several tables together (tables currently sit about 4 max). I would advise Cava to unnail several tables and create tables for larger parties or to just unnail all tables so guests can rearrange as needed. I was here with a party of five and we had to all squeeze onto a table meant for 4 -_- The food here is comparable to other Cava locations. Customers order a base, dips (up to 3 included with purchase), protein, toppings and dressing. I usually order the following: Base: Brown Rice & Arugula Dips: 2 scoops of Harissa and 1 scoop of Roasted Red Pepper Hummus Protein: Falafel Toppings: Pita Chips & Quinoa Dressing: Spicy Harissa As with my other reviews of Cava Grill locations, I recommend that you get a drink with your order. There are lots of unique, seasonal flavors that you can try (unlimited refills too!) There is plenty of parking available so parking will not be an issue. CAVA addict here! I'm super excited for this location because it's only a two minute drive from the office! I heard about the free community lunch through word of mouth and some of the people waiting in line got an email about this special lunch event. They OFFICIALLY open tomorrow for the public. The place is a bit small compared to the other locations in the area but the fact that it's near work is a plus! My coworkers and I waited for an hour or so to get our food but it was worth it. They gave out small CAVA pins with its symbol which was neat. The food was very fresh so it was definitely worth the wait. Its a huge Pet peeve of mine when restaurants can't get their take-out orders right. My order wasn't complicated and they left off the drinks that come with the kids meals and the pita that comes with the adult meals. They also gave us harissa sauce when we ordered harissa yogurt. CAVA at 28-A, Upper Rock Circle, Rockville MD is the worst we have ever seen. we ordered take out on 1.4.2023 for Greens and Grains Bowl with Roasted vegetables. They served half spoon of rice, vegetables and sides that were ordered. The Pita on side was cold and never warmed. At end - after checkout, the cashier never delivered Pitas with order, had to return to collect the undelivered item. The store did not bag the delivery, said they do not have any. The staff seem to be very casual and careless without any customer service approach. Such poor service quality was unexpected at a CAVA outlet. read more

I really like Cava's food but disappointed at misleading practices of this store during the pandemic. They advertise "curbside pickup" on their website and tell you to call when you arrive, but when you do, they don't pickup the phone and everybody basically has to wander into the store and hang around until they hand your food to you. Chipotle with a Mediterranean focus is the best way to describe Cava. It's also a bit more expensive than then the aforementioned fast-casual spot but extremely worth it. What Cava does well is have an abundance of fresh ingredients to make a salad, bowl or wrap. I usually get the bowl with the accompanying pita bread. I could eat the spicy feta every day on anything, so of course I get that! I also prefer the meatballs to their chicken, which I found underwhelming in flavor. There are so many choices that it's better to study the menu before getting in the line. The attendants are not as patient as they could be when making the food. I also love their drink selection and I'm usually not a big juice fan. Expect to pay about $12-$14 on your food and drink but like I said, it's worth it. read more
