One of the things I miss a lot since moving to SoCal is having my tenders and fries from Roaming Rooster. There's simply nowhere in this area that can match up to the level of chicken n fries quite like them. The incredible spice mixes that's just the right amount every time. Ugh. Why can't we have something like that out here? Dave's Hot Chicken, Jay Bird's, Raising Cane's and others I can't even recall simply do not match up to Roaming Rooster. Anyhow, this location is in Gaithersburg and has ample seats inside as well as free parking outside. It's way easier to access than the one at Pike and Rose in my opinion. The service isn't fast, but the wait is definitely worth it. The ambiance would improve if it has some music playing so you wouldn't hear other people eating and chewing. I ordered the tenders with medium heat and they were exactly as described, flavorful with just the right kick and surprisingly tender. The French fries tasted like they went straight from potato to fryer and were definitely homemade. And the club chicken sandwich was so good. Juicy, well seasoned and stacked just right. I originally came for one item but ended up leaving with fried chicken coleslaw, nuggets and a Beltway box, all thanks to Eric who deserves his own shoutout. I spent $20 more than I originally planned. He was top tier in customer service and apparently sales (HA!) He mentioned he usually works in the back but he needs to stay up front and get a raise. The sandwich was big and had lots of chicken. The sandwich with the honey butter was so delicious! The fries tasted fresh and was more than plenty to share. The coleslaw was different from what I'm used to. I would probably add it to my sandwich rather than eat it on its own. I had the honey butter chicken. It comes with honey mustered sauce and a pink sauce. I liked the honey mustered the best with the sandwich. The sandwich itself didn't have a lot of flavor so the sauce you choose really makes the sandwich. The chicken was cooked well and crispy. The spicy heat is not that bad it's more like a zing. Warning...the extra hot really is EXTRA HOT! I regularly enjoy spicy foods but this sandwich ended up being waaaaaaaaaay too hot for me and was almost inedible. I know what you're thinking....I swear I'm not a heat/spice wuss and I enjoy even the hottest of Buffalo Wings but this was on a whole other level! I know better now and will order a few heat levels down from extra hot so I can actually enjoy my food. Just ordered the chicken club. Gotta be the best, or near-best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had (certainly in the DC environs), and it's one of my go-to sandwiches that I like to get. First, the fried chicken breast is perfectly cooked (crisp, juicy, and well seasoned; I took medium spice), a nice couple pieces of bacon (bacon makes everything better!), and fresh garnish veggies. Perfect meat/content to bread ratio (no too bready). Great sauces provided. I should have tried the fries, but I would have had to get their $4+ side (everything is a la carte), which was more than I wanted to eat/spend at that particular moment. I finally tried this chain! Located a few doors from my nail shop, I decided to check them out. Marquis was very friendly and told me that they've been there about 6 months now. They have variations of chicken on the menu: wings, tenders, and sandwiches. I went with a sandwich - OG Nashville, spice level: hot. I was tempted to try Inferno, but I'm so glad I didn't. For a $10 sandwich you do get a thick double chicken patty. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich was good. I got "hot" and you can definitely feel the heat. It's like a Nashville Hot. I got two fries. My first one was disappointing. It was NOT double fried. It was soggy and like lukewarm and lack salt. It must be the last of the batch. My other one was better. It was salted correctly. The food here is delicious. I have gone 3 times since the opened. There's nothing like a good fried chicken spot. I'd recommend the OG Nashville hot. It is a little pricey if you want fries with it but they are more known for their chicken. So most people just get a chicken sandwich and head out. This location replaced the old duck donuts spot. I will say I am not sure they did the best they could with the spacing because it used to look huge at the duck donuts and now it looks pretty small. There are about 6 tables for 2 people and 2 tables for 4 people inside. But most people pick up the food to go. If you want the food quick, I'd recommend ordering online. read more

The fries were similar to Five Guys where you can easily share an order with someone since you get a huge amount. I barely ate half of them. Some were slightly crispy, some were completely soggy. I'd rather have half an order if they can all be crispy. The sando was just OK. The hot had a good kick to it and the slaw was a good compliment. But it was way smaller than my favorite chicken sando and not as flavorful. It also appeared that it was essentially 2 tenders on top of each other and not 1 big breast. Hangry Joe's is cheaper, has better fries, substantially larger, and better tasting (although their consistency is starting to slip); don't think I'd return anytime soon. read more

While making my food, I watched the cook wipe their hands on a dirty towel before handling my cooked tenders.
