I love CAVA, I usually go to the one on Indian bend, I'm dog sitting so I was craving some so I came to the one in N Scottsdale. There were two workers working and one told me to wait then the other person helped me. She was stingy with the portion of lettuce given with my 1/2 and 1/2 order of lentils and when it came to the sides to add on the end I had to ask her to double on the corn, cucumber/tomatoes & more lettuce. For a 15 dollar bowl, I think you should proportion better in the bowl instead of the bowl looking half empty. Make sure you ask for another scoop if you get someone that doesn't proportion your bowl well. read more

I have been loving Cava! It's so nice to have a cleaned up and flavorful dining option in NS! The first time we stopped in it was later in the evening and sadly the ingredients, mostly the grains, were not super fresh. My rice was a bit dry and overcooked and a little crunchy. I am testing out delivery order through their app to see how the product quality is when it's brought to me. Every time I've ordered, I've opted to customize my bowl either with a grains base or greens and grains base. Whatever you order, there are plenty of options! I've been twice and I keep craving it. No idea how anyone can give this place less than 5 stars. It is SO good and incredibly priced. I see people giving bad reviews because of slow service, but it's a newer place and I think yelpers should be cognizant of that. It's not a sit-down restaurant so no need to get all upset about slow service at the counter. They're learning. The ingredients all seem very well-prepared. And the spices/sauces are extremely flavorful. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone that likes Mediterranean but maybe not the trendy Pita Jungle type of prices. read more

The food is delicious, but unfortunately there are too many options and people stand there and ask "what's that" which holds up the line. It's best to create your own bowl rather than order a standard bowl because the line crew has to follow a menu card and it confuses them. The pita bread is soft and delicious, but the falafel is mushy and not crispy like Zoe's. The Greek Chicken Pita is perfect and a sure bet. The old dude at the register has got to go, he is unfriendly, barking orders, flustered and his shirt was dirty. So there you have it. read more

Food is absolutely amazing here but service is awful. I had a staff member actually roll their eyes at me when I asked if my pick up order was ready. I placed an order around 1130 and it was not ready until 1220. It was a very busy lunchtime, but the staff refused to look at the people waiting for their pick up orders. I did speak to the manager who was able to find my pick up order in the back. It was sitting back there for an unknown amount of time because the staff refuses to even acknowledge me And to note that one of the staff members rolled their eyes at me. This review is not about the food but their horrible service. On more than one occasion, I placed an online pick-up order. Each time I went to pick up my meal, it was not ready. And not only was I standing in line waiting for my online order, but many others were waiting for their pick-up orders. The most recent incident was the final straw for me. I requested a refund after they claimed my food was not ready and I would have to wait a few minutes. Then the worker claimed she could not do a refund and that I would have to go online to request one. I told her to go ahead and make my food. Why go through the hassle of filling out a form for a refund, I told her. I returned to my job and told one of my co-workers about my bad experience. She was meeting her daughter for lunch and talking about going to Cava. I told her to go somewhere else and they did. They went to Sauce. Been waiting for weeks for this location to open and finally I was able to try it. I was so excited. I will be adding this to my weekly list to eat much or dinner. I love Mediterranean food and this was chipotle style create your own bowl place. Fresh, healthy and quick. So many options (toppings )to choose from. Meat and falafel is grilled fresh. The food is really good. Like really good. But my goodness, I've been in 3 times and there is never any sense of urgency. The employees move like molasses. I had delivery from this restaurant and it was just okay. The hummus was mediocre as was the falafel. I ignored the sauces that came with it for the first half and that was a mistake. My niece was nice enough to bring me back a bowl for dinner because it's located right near her office. don't know what I was expecting but I ended up eating the entire bowl. It was tasty, not salty like some other restaurants that compete with this. I haven't stopped into the physical restaurant yet, , but I will one of these days. Honestly the food was good but the service is SLOW!! It took us 30 min in line to get a bowl. The employees are NOT trained. It's a shame because it has so much potential. I believe they should close, train the employees and then re open so that it doesn't get a bad rep. Employees need to fast and trained on ingredients not just thrown in. read more

Food was great but lots to work on. I have been here twice. Once I got a bowl and it ended up being almost $15. Had a wrap and found the price point better. I couldn't finish the bowl and it is a great candidate to split with someone. Both items were tasty. The service on the other hand has been borderline bad when I've been here both times. Each time was during the lunch rush but they seemed to either be understaffed or under trained. It took almost 20 minutes to just get to the area where you begin your order. One of the times there was an older worker on the register who just talking negatively about the customers just after they left. Keep in mind we could all hear him and we were probably all wondering what he would say about us after we paid. If that wasn't bad enough, when he gave me my drink cup, his fingers went inside the cup and left a taziki smudge. Gross! read more

I have driven by Cava for months and finally went in to try it today. The food is really tasty and lots of good healthy options but the service was so bad. The 2 guys working the line were just absolutely miserable and never came close to cracking a smile. They just grunted at me and made me feel bad for even bothering them (to do their jobs!). I've eaten here a few times and usually don't have an issue. However the staff here can be rude and slightly off putting when ordering. Me and my fiance are vegetarian, and at 7:30 pm (closes at 10) and they had very little options. The roasted vegetables and roasted sweet potato were sitting there for quite some time and became uneatable. When we asked if there was more coming or a fresh batch they said they weren't making anymore. They did not try to accommodate at all and it was my worst experience by far. They should have warned customers that they were out of items before hand. read more
