I'm not one to give 5 stars unless they're truly deserved. So when a place earns one, I'm happy to give it. We made a same-day reservation for a party of five--three teenagers and two adults. We all have different tastes and preferences, so I was hoping the menu would have something for everyone. It absolutely did, and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is lively yet cozy, making it easy to enjoy conversation even when the restaurant is busy. The staff was absolutely delightful from start to finish. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We started with the truffle fries and the green beans with almonds. Both were wonderful, and the truffle fries were definitely a hit! Our entrees included pastas, fish tacos, a burger, and I had a salad with added salmon. Everything was delicious. My salmon unfortunately came out undercooked, despite my request for it to be cooked through. Our waitress and the manager were incredibly gracious, kind, and genuinely apologetic. They handled everything with such care that it turned what could have been a disappointing experience into an example of exceptional customer service. As part of their above-and-beyond recovery, they treated us to their incredible house donut with the most amazing sauce. It was absolutely outstanding and is not to be missed! Greene House at Kierland Commons is a California inspired restaurant that's been on my list for a while, so we stopped by during Christmas week. The ambiance is beautiful, both indoors and on the patio. We started with the sesame chicken potstickers and a glass of Riesling, then got the Asian chicken salads. Everything was fresh and really flavorful. My only small complaint was the portion sizes. Even the salad felt more like a side salad than a main, especially for the price. That said, the food was delicious. Service was quick and attentive, and overall it was a great experience. I'd definitely come back and try more of the menu. read more

We had a great dinner at the Greene House! The interior and exterior were gorgeous... a California coastal vibe but also quite cozy once the lights came on at dusk. Our table ordered the potstickers which were absolutely delicious! For my meal I ordered the mediterranean market bowl - I didn't necessarily get mediterranean vibes, but it was tasty! The bowl itself was slightly one note, and I think could have used a couple more fresh components, but overall, it was yummy. I didn't catch our servers name, but he was helpful and attentive, even while the restaurant was busy on a Friday night at prime dinner time. We stopped in for a late lunch around 2:30pm on a weekday. The restaurant and bar were crowded. The host was friendly and he sat us right away. We were able to snag a table a The patio. Perfect for the outdoor weather and people watching. Unfortunately we were sat right next to the server stand but they didn't use it much so it was not too disruptive. Our server, Jameca was friendly and attentive. She brought our water and iced teas right away. I ordered the FRENCH DIP - Brie, Arugula, Caramelized Onion, Horseradish Mayonnaise. $22. This was quite tasty. I really liked the combination of the arugula and Brie on the sandwich. I upgraded to the truffle fries. Sadly the fries were soggy and tasteless which was a disappointment. My husband ordered the CALIFORNIA TUNA MELT - Toasted Ciabatta, Swiss Cheese, Green Apple, Vine Ripe Tomato, Arugula Salad. $18.50. He said he really enjoyed it and would order it again. It's been several years since we have dined here since we moved. Dining on the patio regardless of how hot the days in Phoenix can be are always a sense of vacation dining on their patio. The food is excellent. The atmosphere and service (by Megan) was excellent! I started with one of their zero alcohol refreshing drinks with yummy sour black cherry, pomegranate, lime and ginger beer. I have enjoyed many of the Fox restaurants in the past, and The Greene House is no exception. While I stopped by recently for my first visit, my wife has had work meetings and lunches there. The service at the restaurant was good, and the food was very tasty. The bar was a typical bar, and the overall atmosphere was nice. We certainly enjoyed it enough to go back in the future. We made a reservation for dinner where we used Open Table in advance and arrived a bit early. We stopped by the bar where the bartenders were hard working though didn't seem to smile or converse with us at all. We each tried a drink as we rarely make it to a bar. We then were seated a few minutes early and had a very pleasant server. We ordered a delicious brie appetizer with a few different toppings, both ordered an entree, and shared a dessert. I was surprised that my Roasted Half Chicken was only two pieces of a chicken breast, but it was still filling and delicious. The food also had a healthy feel to it, so we felt good about going there (even though in reality, the menu didn't look overly healthy). This is one of our favorite restaurants in Scottsdale! The sea bass is the best sea bass I have ever had! It is served with this yummy drizzle that makes me want to lick the plate! It also comes with caramelized cippolini onions that are to die for. I order this dish every time I come here. The hummus is unlike no other and my mom (who doesn't care for hummus) could not stop talking about how good it is! It is the best hummus I have ever tasted. It is noisy inside as the acoustics are not great so sitting on the patio is better if you don't like a noisy environment. We have never had a bad meal here and everyone who has been with us has loved their food. The service is always spot on and it is always busy so expect to wait for a table if you don't have a reservation. read more

We decided to try the Greene House for my birthday dinner since my parents were in town We had reservations for 5:30 and were seated immediately. The bread and butter came first and was complimentary - the bread was delicious. We started with the calamari - it was unique, more of a tempura style. The breading was thin and crispy and the vegetables paired well. My dad ordered the skirt steak (Asian style marinade) - very flavorful and tender. I ordered the braised short ribs. The short ribs were pretty tasty but there was a portion of it that wasn't as fork tender as I'm used to. The potato purée was delicious and flavored with truffle. For my birthday dessert, I ordered the chocolate mocha bar and to be honest, this was my favorite part of the whole meal. It was very rich and chocolatey, so I was so happy to share but the vanilla gelato balanced out the rich chocolate and praline. The inside of the restaurant gets pretty loud later on in the evening but the food is definitely worth a try! read more

Exceeded our expectations! My daughter and I have a lot of food allergies and they were so accommodating and assured us that they take great care to ensure no cross contamination. And, the food was delicious! I had the NY strip and my daughter had the tuna appetizer which they customized for her due to allergies and the Greek Caesar with salmon. It was all perfectly cooked. Loved the ambiance vibe at this restaurant in Kierland Commons. Indoor and outdoor seating blended seamlessly together. Recommend reservation as when I arrived today for lunch about 12:30, there were 20+tables empty but I had to go on waitlist because there were reservations apparently covering all those empty tables. Food was ok. Ordered sesame chicken dumplings and the warm Brie cheese for an appetizer. The dumplings were a bit overcooked and really didn't have much filling. Brie was good, served with some good chunks of grilled sourdough, garlic cloves, Marcona almonds and a fruit compote. Enjoyed the Brie more than the dumplings. For entree, enjoyed the Sea Bass and the braised short rib. Bass served over mashed potato with some undercooked rapini scattered over the top. Good portion of dish, just not much flavor unfortunately. I paired my sea bass with a nice 9 oz pour of Sancerre. For dessert tried the cinnamon donut which was cleverly paired with its own donut hole and a custard and red fruit dipping sauce. Service by Zach was outstanding, very attentive. All in with app, entree, dessert and drink, expect to pay $75-$100 pp plus tip for lunch service. Parking is tough around Kierlands at lunchtime so take that into account read more

Came here for an early Father's Day because I'd heard of this place in California but didn't know they were in AZ now. Had the Brie appetizer and it was good. I had the vegan falafel bowl and it had the most amazing roasted Brussels. Kids meals were good -- kids had grilled cheese and chicken fingers (beer battered). My husband had a French dip and it was also good. Solid place! My only issue was the mister situation outside. Over 100 degrees, misters have to do their job. Unfortunately, the food and service were pretty underwhelming overall. The chicken pot stickers were bland and oddly had a slight fishy taste that didn't seem right. The truffle fries were probably the highlight of the meal -- definitely the best thing we ordered. The fish and chips were decent, but nothing memorable or worth going back for. The biggest miss was the chicken salad. It tasted okay at first, but then became overwhelmingly heavy with mayonnaise. We realized they had actually added an extra layer of mayo on top of the chicken salad itself, which already contains mayo to begin with. After one bite, it honestly just tasted like mayo paste and was hard to eat. Service didn't help much either. Our waitress seemed pretty indifferent and uninterested, especially when it was obvious we weren't thrilled with the food. What's frustrating is that people in our party had been here before and specifically mentioned the food used to be much better than what we experienced this time. Parking here was a challenge at dinnertime, and the, restrooms were actually outside of restaurant, shared with the mall and the other restaurant adjacent to it. I had dinner with a friend and we were both so impressed with the vibe of the place. Relaxing, inviting, and open (I reserved patio seating) - it was so nice! When it got a little chilly they turned out the heating lamp above us and it was perfect. The menu had so many things for two pescatarians to choose from - we had a hard time deciding what to get. So glad I got to try this new addition to the Fox family of restaurants. I can't wait to return for brunch sometime. read more

Four of us dined on a Sunday evening in late February. It started out okay, drink but when the entrees arrived two of the four were not as ordered. The entrees came out really staggered and dropped off by three different people so when we tried to explain there was something wrong with the dishes the runners dropping off the plates were a little confused as to what they needed to do to correct the situation. Finally the server taking care of us came by and it was all sorted, however it was a disconcerting start to the food. One of us ordered the club sandwich which they said was fantastic, with a buttery bun and as requested really crispy bacon. Another ordered the half roasted chicken which was boneless (we missed that on the menu description) and had really well crisped skin, probably cooked under a weight to get it flat and the skiing nicely rendered. The green house salad was very similar to a caesar salad although it had a lot of extra green veggies while their version of a Caesar salad was more like a house salad.? We shared the calamari/ vegetable tempura which was delicious and we were thoroughly blown away by the baked Brie with toasted bread, roasted garlic, cherries and almonds. So simple but once you spread the roasted mushy garlic over toast add Brie and other toppings it's delicious. You've got to get the chicken pot pie. Best ever. Super hot inside with flaky pastry dough on top. Others had French dip, chicken sandwich and Mahi tacos but the pot pie was the winner.
