I'll start out by saying that Cava is my absolute favorite fast casual restaurant. Everything tastes so fresh and authentic, and for me it gives me a delicious, healthy meal at a reasonable price. Every time I've gone there, to any Cava, the food is always fresh and tasty. Not one bad meal ever in more than 5 years of going there. This Cava also has a great outdoor space. This Cava in Tenleytown is my neighborhood Cava. All the staff are super friendly and eager to help you out. Just today, I went in to get my usual greens bowl to go. I got to the register to pay for my order and scanned my barcode for loyalty. The cashier, Valerey, told me that I had a birthday reward... a free dessert cookie or brownie. I told her I couldn't take it because I'm pre-diabetic and can't eat a lot of sweets. She comped my bowl instead, since I couldn't take the reward, which was so unexpected and thoughtful of her. Great spot for lunch while on campus at usc . Was on campus for grad school and on our lunch my classmates and i stopped by Cava for lunch. My first time at cava and it reminded me of greek Mediterranean food meets chipotle. The food looked fresh, meats were freshly prepared the greens, rice quinoa were all freshly made and very healthy food options available. You can make your own bowl or pita or order a pre designed bowl or pita. I opted to try their chicken pita and opted to have it made as it was intended. You can customize it as you please which was nice. The taste of the pita hit the spot the chicken, veggies, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes all blended well together providing a beautiful blend what you'd expect from Mediterranean food flavors. The size of the pita was plentiful to fill me up. Price for the pita was a bit high but its expected when on campus at $11.xx for the pita or the bowl option. To wash down the food i ordered there in house juice, strawberry citrus juice. They offer seasonal juices along with fountain soda, and bottled drinks. Overall i had a great meal here and would recommend people try cava especially if you are a fan of Mediterranean food and looking for healthy lunch option. I love CAVA! This review speaks more to the service, since my food was pretty on point. The service was very eh - I wasn't greeted upon arrival, nor did I get a "what can I get for you" once I actually got to the counter. So I was pretty turned off from the beginning. I ordered a salad and a grains and greens bowl and while I followed the salad bowl all the way through, I failed to do the same with the grains and greens bowl...so it ended up being a salad. That was cool, it was my fault and I didn't need the rice anyway...but it also would've been cool to receive what I asked for. Other than the mediocre service, I have no complaints. The order was not correct. I ordered double broccoli and did not get any. I ordered pita and it wasn't included. There were very few greens and no utensils. I took pictures. I also called Cava and told them the order problems and the girl was in different. She offered no apology and said if I wanted to come in to the restaurant, she would give me the pita. Valery and her team are professional and polished, the store is clean, and the selections are always fresh every time I go -- which is at least once a week. When I first started coming, everyone was rude except Vanessa. She has been an angel to me. The food is always great. I just wish the rest of the staff got training on customer service. I haven't been in so long because of how I've been treated for the past couple of months. However, I went today and surprisingly there was a new manager there and he was super sweet to me, unlike the manager w/ the makeup. Even though there was a new manager, the lady still decided to throw things into my bowl. I literally will never be back in that place. Cava has been one of my favorite places to eat for a while. Ive only ever gone to eat in person. I recently decided I wanted it delivered so I had To go to their own website to do it. Anyway I order over $30 worth of food and my main dish was completely inedible. I got the main dish with a lentil base and the lentils tasted like they were A. Either spoiled or B. Not cooked. They were like very hard and crunchy. I was so hungry I tried to eat around them and I only lasted a few bites. Anyway fast forward a few hours and I got super sick. I was like what the f... did I get food poisoning? Anyway I had to throw the food away, it was disgusting. Anyway I thennnnn emailed customer support. I had several exchanges in nearly every single one thr customer service rep didn't answer my questions, I asked for a refund and nothing. It's been 2 weeks of back and forth with them on an open ticket and I'm So irritated. Majority of my experiences at CAVA have been wonderful above and beyond but I'm really really frustrated with how this current situation is being handled - I feel like I'm being given the runaround and I really really really effing hate that. Anyway I really don't know if I'll be coming to eat there again but for everyone else, I highly recommend staying away from their delivery and anything that involves dealing with customer service that is online. read more

Cava is the full package such as my favorite Mediterranean cuisine items, meals are prepared quickly, fresh & healthy ingredients, and delicious drinks to pair up with their meals. I eat there on a weekly basis and mix up my meals with different protein sources such as falafel, braised lamb, braised beef, and their meatballs. Then they have a great spread of sauces such as lemon herb tahini, yogurt dill, and their vinegarette that accompanies their braised lamb & beef soooooo very well! After working in Tenleytown / DC for a couple of years, I can truly say this is one of the best Mediterranean healthy fast food ("Chipotle") type spots, with high quality, DELICIOUS ingredients that have a lot of variety. I recently discovered that I'm no longer allergic to Chickpeas / hummus (after 10+ years), and find that the falafel is very well cooked here compared to other places (including the famed Amsterdam Falafel), and the healthy options & taste are not hindered by each other :) The drinks are so delicious & fresh: creative juices, ranging from kale mango Apple, to simple flavored iced teas. Although, a little steep at $2 per (I'd guess) 12-16oz cup, but with free refills it's not too bad. P.S. A comparative falafel quality shop is Roti! Check that out too :) read more

Moved from Chicago in October and did not seem to think the hype was real over a fast food chain. I've been to Roti and Naf Naf and thought they were ok but not great - CAVA will change your mind. Love the variety and freshness that is CAVA. I'm converted to greens with chicken, veggies and almost all of the toppings. This location in general is great.
