I have my DC bartender and I think I have my MD one now too. After the unexpected closing of another local venue, my bartender friend had announced he was going to start working here, and it had already been on my radar. From the pictures and videos I've seen, the place looked quite stunning and I wondered how it fit into the very busy downtown Bethesda. When I finally had a chance to show up, it all made sense. Everything is in a giant basement and of course lovely. The bar really is the centerpiece of the floor, being able to seat dozens of patrons. And from what I was told, the other rooms are used for special events. Hilariously enough, I have not had their food yet, but their drinks have been excellent. Whenever I swing by I happen to already be full from dinner, haha. They have a happy hour that goes until 7:00 on the weekdays they're open, which includes both food & drink. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. I was scammed by all of these PAID and FAKE reviews and unfortunately had the most embarrassing birthday of my life. These reviews have to be paid. IT WAS EMPTY. NO MUSIC. NO FRIENDLY STAFF. NOTHING. I came here for my 29th birthday and it was hands down the most disappointing birthday I've ever had in my entire life. The server acted like they were busy when we were there ONLY. TABLE. I had my birthday here but it was a terrible, quiet, awkward, rushed, disaster. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT COME HERE. Ambiance: beautiful restaurant with a dance floor in the front. Big bar was in the center and kitchen in the back. Service: we came here for a bday/brunch/drag show. It wasn't busy and there were not a lot of waitstaff and 2 bartenders. I think there were maybe 20-25 people. Our waitress was good but it did take her awhile to come and check in or get us drinks, etc. She did correct the $20 up charge for the steak and eggs I ordered - $42 when menu was $22. Yeah, I caught that mess. Food: Ok, so in my last review, I was quite tipsy and the flatbread I order was SOOOO good. I was excited to try the food again while sober. Totally different experience. The steak wasn't seasoned much. I had a pretty decent size steak but a friend ordered same dish and his was thin and had a bit of fat he had to cut off. Chef even came to apologize, comp the dish and brought out chicken and waffles for him. Good on chef for fixing the problem but for the future: if 2 people at the same table order the same dish, make sure the main is equal to save yourself from having to come to the table and have a little pow wow... Overall, I think brunch menu was limiting, average offerings and overpriced. I'm so disappointed in Bethesda dining experience. I've been to 2 brunches and both were ok and tbh not worth what I paid for. I live in NOVA and there's a lot more offerings at better prices. MD do better please. It has a nice ambiance and a good atmosphere. I'll be back to try some food. I went there for a networking event and I do think the room inside of the bar was a little too small but other than that, I will definitely be back to actually enjoy the place and eat some good food and take photos of that and cannot review experience on that. read more

This is a restaurant trying to be a sophisticated nightclub. Not sure they succeed on either count. Walking in, you're met with welcome smiles and an attractive bar, table set up. But, let's get to the heart of the matter. The menu offerings are overpriced. For instance, order the Scallops - you'll get 4 on a plate for $10/each. The steak frites at $48 is no better than an average cut of meat from Safeway. I've honestly never tasted a less flavorful cut of NY strip. The Morrocan chicken was - shall we say - average. Our server gave us the rundown on bottled beer, there is no draught, but came back to tell us that Yuengling was out of stock. Really? On a Saturday night? The same happened after our meal when a lava cake and key lime dessert were also out of stock. This was no later than 8PM on a Saturday night. I tried the lobster fries and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels were a bit on the oily side but still very tasty. The lobster fries, however, were just average--they could have used more flavor or toppings to stand out. My friend ordered the flatbread and broccoli and thought they were average, but she also enjoyed the ambiance and would come back. The overall atmosphere was very elevated, making it one of the nicest spots in the area. Worth visiting for the vibe! read more

I totally forgot to take pictures of our appetizers and main dishes because we were all super excited to dig in...again. This was our second time here and is now is our must go to restaurant when we're in town. The restaurant is very hip and you can't help but feel upbeat and happy when you're inside. The lighting is modern and fun. You have to start with their crab French fries. I know that fries sound basic and these are anything but basic -- they have the perfect crunch and the crab takes them up a level. The calamari also has the right crispness and the dip adds great flavor to every bite. My spouse ordered the rib eye, which was perfectly prepared and served with creamy mashed potatoes and fresh broccolini. Our daughter had the burger -- again, sounds basic and it's not. Every part of the burger was fresh, from the fluffy bun to the savory hamburger patty to the produce, and she enjoyed every bite. I had the lamb which was very tender and served over savory couscous. The homemade tzatziki is ah-ma-zing and really is the perfect addition to this dish. We each had to try different desserts as their desserts rotate so they were all new to us. I LOVE carrot cake, especially with thick cream cheese frosting. The only thing missing was raisins, although my daughter and spouse were glad they were left out. The chocolate mousse cake was light and not too sweet. My spouse is a key lime pie connoisseur and the key lime pie cheesecake was by far one of the best he has ever had. It had an interesting sweetness to it that cut the bite of the sourness of the lime. I can't finish this review without mentioning the staff. The hostess was warm and friendly right away. Our servers were friendly and helpful. The chef and manager made sure our evening was perfect. We ate excited to have a new favorite place for a great meal. read more

Food was awful. Worse calamari and artichoke dip I ever ate. Hamburgers weren't cooked to the way they were ordered and they were served on flatbread, which wasn't indicated in the picture. They were out of many things; obviously hamburger buns, Sauvignon blanc wine. The Cesar salad had hot peppers in it. Flatbread pizza wasn't good at all. The waitress was pleasant but that's about it on a positive note. What upset me the most is that we had to pay a lot of money for terrible tasting food!Would never go back to this place for dinner. read more

This was our first date night in a couple years after having her son and believe me when we tell you we're definitely going to try this maybe once or twice a month. First off the food was absolutely amazing everything tasted fresh there is not anything I did not like. Now I'm one that cannot stand eating mushrooms but that chef was somehow able to get me to eat mushrooms for the first time without any complaints lol. The staff were absolutely amazing very sweet and checked on us when they could despite being busy. This was my first time at this restaurant for a friend's birthday on 4/26/25. I ordered the braised lamb dish and it was ok. I though I was getting pieces of lamb or a shank of lamb over a bed of couscous. That is not what this was. The dish is shredded meat on top of couscous. I wish the restaurant had described the dish better cause I would not have picked it if I had know. My friend got the lobster bisque pasta and it had no chunks of lobster just a cream sauce and lobster crumbles. The pasta and sauce were good. The Birthday Girl ordered the bone in rib eye and she asked for it rear. But it was medium rear it had pink but no blood when she cut it. I tried a piece and it was seasoned well but still not what she wanted. The chef brought out flat breads as an appetizer and they were the hi light of the night the cheese steak and the truffle mushroom were very good. My friend also enjoyed her old fashioned made with Bullet bourbon. We were told that a DJ would be preforming at 9:30 and that she was very good but something must have happened because some guy was doing the music and had to download songs from his phone that we requested just to be able to dance with the birthday girl. Dancing is one of her favorite things. The restaurant did do a lot of special things for my friends birthday like put her birthday pictures on the screen and bring her cake out with sparklers and bubbles and provided champagne to toast to her with but I'm not sure if that was at the request of the Birthday Girls best friend who planned the dinner or not. The restaurant looks very nice and the seats were comfortable the dance floor was a good size for it not being a club. All said and done if invited I would go back but wouldn't pick it for myself. Husband and I came here because the photos online looked amazing but please do not let my photos deceive you. The steak and cheese flatbread was had a strange taste to it, none of the ingredients were fresh and you could tell. Cheese on the flatbread is clearly American sliced cheese that comes wrapped in plastic, the meat had a smell and weird taste to it. The lobster pasta did not have much seasoning, it tasted better when I took it home and added more seasoning to it. Even then my husband and I were not feeling the best after eating here and eating the leftovers at home. The restaurant itself is beautiful and definitely a vibe, we did not have any alcoholic drinks but the people there seemed to be enjoying themselves at the bar. Our server Renzo was great, very efficient. Sad to say though, I will not be back! A $200 meal that wasn't worth it. read more

Our party of three went with the prix fixe menu which includes appetizer, main dish, side and dessert ($80/person). Their menu is priced for a party of four. So my party of three paid the same price but got less food. My daughter took only one bite of her entree. As a Korean American she found it so bland. Finally, our bill reflected a $12 charge for three desserts. Perplexed, I asked our services for clarification since our prix fixe menu includes a dessert. He tells me it's added for labor . I let it go but left feeling like I'd just been scammed. The meats are expensive à la carte but good. Basically, if you go, skip the prix fixe, just order meats and skip everything else. read more

I'd gone to Bethesda for a nice late sit-down dinner in a week night and thought I'd make like a regular Bethesda triangle diner and have some regular Steak House type fare for about what a burger and fries costs at the place around the corner I ordered a shrimp cocktail and steak frites and a glass of their fanciest PinoNoir. I was seated at the bar and the bartender was obviously bored with not enough to do. She hooked me up with a very hefty pour and upgraded my fries to truffle no charge. We visited this new restaurant on a recent trip to Bethesda. We were pleasantly surprised to find live music there at 7 on a Friday night. The atmosphere is club-like and the fact that there was a show drew a distinct crowd. Our server was Renzo and he was great, bringing out the courses in a relaxed manner. We shared 2 different salads. We had the Sea Bass dish and the lamb. Both were prepared well with distinct seasoning. We so enjoyed our dinner and would return again. read more

I wish I could say I'm giving five stars just to be nice. The reality is, it's a solid 4.5 that I have no qualms about rounding up to a 5. And the half a point is for the interesting aloofness of one of the management team members to us, Michael I believe, although it was more than made up by the welcoming nature of another management member, Isabella. Food was outstanding, three of us were wowed by our dishes, namely the harvest bowl, pear arugula salad and steak frites. Drinks were yummy as well, sangria, cosmo and an apple mash made with Maker's Mark. Ah, .10 of a point taken away for frozen fries. Our server Akina was on day 2 and although some mild delays, did a great job!! Lastly, they don't have chocolate cake (Alina lied to me ) but the chocolate cherry mousse is a game changer!! Had a wonderful dining experience for my birthday on a week day in late January. The restaurant had a really nice, cozy and classy vibe. Nice background music and great looking bar. We got seated right away and enjoyed stellar service by the waiter and the Manager Hassan. They were very attentive to our needs, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The food. Oh my! I ordered the Halibut with couscous and my son got a burger with fries. The halibut was perfectly cooked and the couscous was so flavorful! I am honestly hooked! My son enjoyed the burger and delicious truffle fries. We also ordered the calamari with their special dipping sauce, delish! The Manager even surprised me with a delicious slice of cheesecake and a candle, and turned on a bubble machine while I blew the candle out! That made me feel very special. Thank you for doing that!! Overall dining experience was 5 star. I highly recommend this restaurant. Everything was very classy and above my expectations. We will definitely be back for some more halibut and to try some of the other exciting dishes on the menu! read more

A wonderful addition to Bethesda. The food and service are fabulous! So was the ambience. We took our two grandchildren, ages 6 and 9, and they absolutely loved it! So did we. Calamari, mussels, flatbread, steak skewers, argula pear salad, truffle fries. All were excellent. And the service was prompt, courteous, and kind.
