The shop has a couple of tables inside and there's a terrace right outside with tables, as well as picnic tables further back. I parked across the street, but there may be more parking in the lot next to the restaurant (didn't check myself). I do vegan Mondays, and was able to order a pita with falafel with several veggie toppings and sauces. It was DELICIOUS and filling. They also have lots of drink options, including my favorite flavor of Spindrift. EDIT: I misunderstood the hours! I work nearby so I plan to be back very soon!

They trumpet the fact they fry in avocado oil, and they make a distinctive flat patty. I got a combo with fries and a drink. The toppings I selected; sumac onions, pickled carrots, and several others, were a bit soggy and didn't mix in quite a swell as I'd hoped. The fries were very fried, and the thin cut falafel was interesting but didn't persuade me to give up the usual ball shape. I wasn't sold that it was the best in the area, and with the place only open for lunch there weren't a ton of opportunities to try it on my schedule, but it is a credible entry into the Bethesda lunch scene.

I was craving kebab and this unfortunately did not hit the spot for me. We got lamb and chicken kebab combo (#5) and ghormeh sabzi. The meats were bland and very dry. Usually when I order lamb kebab I expect full of flavor and juicy, but this lamb was TOUGH like I had to really chew and there was no flavor. Ghormeh was bland too and not that many cubes of beef. Pita bread and rice were both good. The staff were friendly but not really helpful...we asked what ghormeh was and he just said it's "beef." I would say gourmet bazaar (Rockville) is much better.

The entree was a bit of a cafeteria style thing, but it fit the bill; the menu says it offers not only tofu but some red kidney beans in a stew of greens with lime flavor, and while I can't think of any similar combination I've had in all my travels, it works. The yogurt they offer on the side is a Persian staple, but what really shined was the fresh bread whose odor wafted through my vehicle as I drove my takeout elsewhere. A delightfully thin and browned creation, it was 100% worth adding despite the fact that they already gave me a massive pile of rice (with a bit of saffron rice on top of the plain white rice). This isn't high-end cuisine, but they delivered distinctive flavors in a timely and convenient fashion, and with a good range of vegetarian choices. Of their other locations in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, some of them offer these stews with tofu mixed in and some do not, though falafel and a few other options remain available.

Lovely wine bar in Cleveland Park!…read more We dined in on a Friday night with a party of six. They had seated us in the front window, but the sun was really shining so they were very accommodating, and helped to move our table into a shadier spot. We started with a round of cocktails and appetizers. My husband enjoyed the apricot Manhattan and I tried the Key West daiquiri. The lavender and pea cocktail was also very refreshing. The hummus platter featured four different hummus's. The harissa was our favorite. The Burratta salad and tart flambe was nice to share. We proceeded with ordering three bottles of wine and a few entrees. The petite fillet was delicious. The spring gnocchi was flavorful and the chicken Milanese was a nice portion. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a slice of Dulce de Leche cheesecake with a candle! Service was very nice. Clean bathrooms and short walk to Cleveland Park Metro.

Little Blackbird is phenomenal!…read more I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Great service from super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff. A large wine list that they know back to front and can recommend wines from based on your food choices and personal tastes. An elegant but not ostentatious interior. But first and foremost, incredible food. There have been a few items I was unsure of when reading the descriptions, but I have always been blown away by the thoughtfulness and balance that comes with each or their dishes. Of note, their seared scallops that came with a savory and sweet white chocolate sauce were one of my favorite dishes of 2025. Not to mention, the prices here are reasonable and not unnecessarily inflated like other places that market themselves as wine bars. I hope the success here signals a shift in the wine bar model toward unpretentious but thoughtfully designed dishes for a reasonable price. Overall, Little Blackbird is an incredible restaurant that I think deserves more recognition. I will certainly be back soon.
