Egg drop soup was good! I was alone and mmmm'ing to myself!

I'm giving this place 3 stars because I am judging it solely on the fact that I have only had two things off of their menu. If and when I eat a larger variety of food, I will update. I went in here to grab a quick snack while waiting for my kids to finish dance class. I decided on the spring rolls and some egg drop soup. The food was fresh, hot and the rolls crispy. I really enjoyed their egg drop soup and have gotten it several more times following my first encounter. I even got my daughters hooked on it and for just $1.98, it's very satisfying along with the side of the crispy noodles. I add a little pepper, some noodles, spoon and then eat. While in here I grabbed on the Belly reward cards and entered my info into the tablet they have on the counter and every time you go in there you just scan and can earn rewards. I already got a free drink! The place is clean, there's ample seating and a nice window seating area to watch the world go by as you eat. There's free wifi access and it's quiet. It seems to be more of a place that people take out their food but I still enjoy sitting in there with my hot soup occasionally. I don't really see any other Chinese take-out places in this area so I guess they have that advantage. I'm just pleased that they don't water down the soup like some places. That is all.

Awful greasy food and high prices. I will never go back. Rude employees too. Never again.

To stay…read moreby the side of our elderly dog, we are foregoing the experience of dining out, more and more. After we finished eating, she remarked we needed to visit the restaurant sometime. We'll have to look for an opportunity when we are around the dog all day, so she can be on her own for a couple of hours, likely sleeping. Birdsong already is acclaimed. This is much more Thai and Thai American. Like Chinese or Italian cuisine before it, Thai flavors have assimilated to a palate not accustomed to the true strength of the spices. Birdsong is a remedy. They do not offer the pad thai that has become a staple, no longer exotic but to its detriment. (A digression. The history of pad thai, with contested origins, is fascinating. As you delve into these matters, you see how syncretic culture is. You also are exposed to the efforts to fashion a unifying mythology.) We ordered the chicken, the shrimp, the crab fried rice, the papaya salad, and the enhancement. The chicken and the shrimp were quality ingredients, prepared well. Although both proteins were fried, they felt clean. The crab fried rice was one option of many with the rice base. The papaya salad was fresh. The enhancement was radish with "fermented daikon, garlic, red onion, cilantro, palm sugar, and fish sauce scrambled with eggs for a balanced savory and sweet flavor," and the portion was generous: we put it on the rice, then I finished it off in an omelet the next morning. We have traveled to Bangkok. Thai spiciness exceeds what I would endorse, and I love hot dishes. Birdsong was much milder, though with sufficient pepperiness my wife, who does not share my preferences, remarked it was closer to her limit. They will work with you in this respect, and I'm confident I could request something that would test my capabilities. That is, in my book, all positive. The dishes that were mild according to the menu, were mild, but they were flavorful. If you do not like fish sauce, for example, you may not appreciate the offerings, which if they don't have fish sauce have something along those lines. I hope Birdsong fares well.

We had major indecision because there's SO many things on the menu we wanted to try but ended up getting: Naem khao: 4/5 probably better with the sour pork, but loved how fresh this was. It was a large portion too, so we got kind of full from finishing it before our mains even arrived. Shrimp pad see ew: 5/5 the best pad see ew I've had in the DMV. So much wok fire flavor. You can really taste the caramelization. And the large shrimp were velveted which was made it extra satisfying to eat. Also a good shareable portion size! Muu Som: 4/5 this was super rich and heavy. Would get this again only to share with a larger group. Loved that it came with sticky rice. Mango sticky rice: 4/5 delicious but in my opinion didn't need the ice cream on top (my boyfriend thinks otherwise though). Very large portion as well. The cocktails were a little pricy ($15) for what they were but I did love the tamarind margarita. Just wish it was a larger drink or a smaller price tag. Service was very attentive!

It has a unique menu, not like you'd typically find. The ambiance is classy and located in a nicer mixed use living facility. Overall, I haven't really found a dish that speaks to me. The noodles I decided to go with the seafood option and it did not disappoint. I did ask them to make it slightly spicier and I loved it. The red curry duck was also ordered and it was so well done. Just be carful as we did come across some bones. The calamari is my fav well battered and fried. The wontons I wasn't a fan of it, it was something new we tried. I felt like it lacked flavor honestly. The drinks was amazing. Couldn't get enough of it. The lychee which seemed was paired with 7up was such a great balance. The Thai tee was also well made. Mango sticky rice is my favorite dessert and it did not disappoint at all. Between the sweet coconut rice and the mango perfect balance. The coconut ice dram wasn't at all a favorite. However my kids enjoyed it very much and that is all that matters. Our waitress was amazing, very attentive. The ambiance was nice wasn't too loud which is nice very friendly to have family dinners at all or big parties as they can easily accommodate as well.
