IGNORED WHEN WE TRIED TO ORDER: We tried to order lunch today at about 1pm. We were totally ignored by the lady behind the counter. There was no one else on line. She ignored us and was filling up one empty container. The cashier told us to "go to the end and order from her". After waiting a few minutes we left to have delicious lunch a Carrabba's, where the staff were very courteous and more than happy to serve us lunch. It was my first visit, and it was for an early dinner. They started off with a large sized pita bread which was slathered in hummus and put four 1+1/2 inch or so herb spiced lamb meatballs on there ($14). It then gets moved over to the add-ons where skhug dressing, tomato and cucumber, pickled onions, cabbage slaw, salt brined pickles are all added. Now, let me tell you that those pickles will kick your taste buds hard and I was only half into them. Since I did not know what skhug was so I have since googled it to find out that it is typically very hot, garlicky, and herby in flavor. I asked for a little bit of it and a bit of a tzatziki sauce but both of the sauces were drippy and it made a huge mess across my fingers, the table and my pants. Dang it. Taste-wise the meal was good, the meat was not overly spicy, that all kicked in more towards my last two messy bites where I truly felt it. I also went with a refillable drink and was not too happy with the blueberry soda or the other ones - there was an almost soapy lingering aftertaste to them ($3) and the other drink I tasted, the blueberry lavender, barely had flavor. It was closer to water than any infused drink which was disappointing. I would have gone for the lemonade but there was nothing in the bin. Wanted something healthy and wholesome. This was the place of choice. Walking in reminds of chipotle the way the line works, and has a healthy ambiance to it. Cava is fairly new in my area and I heard they had healthy options so I decided to give it a try. This place gave me a tremendous variety of options for my meal. This food was sooo good you could forget that it is healthy. There was no loss of flavor in the dishes. The best is the lamb meat balls. The produce and meat is so fresh, it puts some of these "healthier"option chain restaurants to shame! I have gone to different locations and they held the same quality. When I asked about sugar content in some dressing they gave me an ingredient list to take home of all the items. This is very important for those that need to keep a strict diet. Soooooo delicious! I have been craving a healthy bowl of food with fresh ingredients and I finally found exactly what I've been wanting at cava! It's a chipotle style counter service where you pick your base, protein, and toppings in either a bowl or a pita. I ate there and chose one of their cava selected bowls with chicken, rice, pickled onions, hummus, tzatziki, tomato, arugula, and more that I'm sure I'm forgetting. But it was amazing! I was excited to have leftovers but it was so good that I ate the entire bowl. I can't wait to go back and build my own bowl to try something else. I definitely think I could eat this multiple times a week with it being so close to my house. The servers were friendly! A few of them were definitely still learning the menu and the answers to some of the questions I had such as is this sauce sweet or spicy, but overall it was a wonderful experience with yummy food. read more

I'm so excited they finally opened Cava in the Central Florida area! Cava is my go to when I'm in the mood for something different but still healthy. I'm not vegetarian/vegan but they have a lot of great options for those that are. Although I usually go over board on the toppings, my bowl always comes out delicious. I also feel the employees are usually friendly and they work hard to keep the kitchen area and lobby area nice and tidy. Gotta love Cava! read more

I did make a mistake of ordering the spicy dressing thinking I could take the heat, but baby when I tell you it's hot, it's hot! We stopped her for lunch after searching out a chicken souvlaki. This was ok to help the craving but not exactly what I was looking for. It wasn't your traditional Mediterranean food, they put a spin on everything or combined it with another food item. It reminds me of a chipotle for gyros. It was clean and everyone was friendly. My wife ordered lunch today to be picked up at 12:30. At 1:03 they told me they still had not cooked my ordered and it would be another 10min. The order was placed with the app which seemed to be there biggest issue, as several people had their orders messed up. For me my frustration with Cava was their lack of communication. They knew they had a issue with the app orders but they were not proactive with informing their customers. Fast forward, once home and unpacking, they forget a entire bowl and multiple ingredients in 2 others. It seems like they were rushing and not taking pride in what they were doing. I'm seeing this more and more personally so I'm going to start checking everything if I order takeout. Called to let them know of the issue, no one picks up for well over an hour. Sooo good! Ordered the Greek salad and substituted rice for the arugula and added the pickled onions and it was delicious. I got the dressing on the side as I was taking it to go and it came with two containers of dressing and I put both on my salad. I wish I had added only one but it was still good! It was opening day and the line was long, but it moved at a great pace for everyone being brand new to their jobs. I wouldn't mind seen some expansion of the menu, that's just my opinion. What they offer currently is good, but I would bet there could be more. Bowls with rice and/or greens as the base and a protein of your choice (chicken, beef, lamb) and lots of toppings offered. You can change things up by choosing a gyro instead. The food was excellent; we got two bowls (both over rice) with chicken (one with beef and lamb) - which, btw, you can get a second protein, but there is an up charge. A nice variety of drinks too; bottled this and that and a unique soda not the two major brands. We stuck with bottled water. All in all, around $30 for two big, filling meals. read more

Always looking for new eating options to be added to the Winter Springs/Oviedo area, good options. I can say Cava did not disappoint. My wife and I stopped by on Saturday for a quick lunch. There was a solid line of people coming in. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. The menu options available were quite extensive. We went with bowls with rice and greens as a base, I selected the lamb meatballs. If the toppings or add-ons had a spicy option I went with it. The spicy options were good but not over whelming. The lamb meatballs were excellent. Overall a great addition to the WS/Oviedo area, solid Mediterranean flavors and good fresh tasting food. If you like Mediterranean, Cava is a great little restaurant to visit. Whomever is managing the restaurant, you are doing a great job. My warning for restaurants of this style, ie Chipotle in Winter Springs, is after a while they have a tendency to pre-prepare to much food and it sits and becomes stale and cold. Keep your food fresh, and food that should be hot keep it hot, and you will keep us coming back. read more

The food is amazing and very flavorful I would definitely come back to this restaurant but in a different location. The staff look very miserable and they had a vibe that they didn't want to be there. Honestly they were a little rude to me. Towards the end when paying they gave me a clean tray full of water . All my life I been to many restaurants and they never have done that I found it a little strange. They didn't even have utensils by the juice area and when I asked they gave me an attitude. They ended up giving me utensils but when my friend in the group asked they practically ignored her and didn't give it to her also. I would recommend friendly staff or maybe a set of new ones. Thankfully they have different locations but I wouldn't come back to this one if I wanted to be around good customer service. I forgot to mentioned there was a young lady that work there that's blonde and flicked me off it's sad to see poor customer service for a first time impression.
