It wasn't visually appealing. Some items were in need of replenishing, which they did later. Service was sub-par. The hostess seemed indifferent and took us to the far end of the restaurant. The whole place was cold. I had to go back out to the car and get my jacket. I observed other customers putting on jackets or hoodies. I had the impression our server was new. She did ok, but we had to flag her down to get a coffee refill. We were looking forward to finishing our meal with a dish of the cobbler from the buffet topped off with a bit of the soft serve we had observed another customer getting from the machine earlier. When we went to the machine they had taped a piece of notebook paper to the front with a handwritten "sorry, machine is being cleaned." I mean who cleans the machine during dinner hours? Listen, you will get a satisfying meal here at a reasonable price, but you might prefer to go down the road to The Mason Jar.

This place just has that local joint vibe. The runner came out and checked on us then we waved when we were ready to order and she turned to the car window. We got two hot dogs, onion rings, and potato wedges. As she was walking away, I yelled out to please add one more plain hot dog. The food was ready quickly and was all super hot. So hot that we had to let the onion rings and wedges cool before taking a bite. The whole meal was very reasonably priced. But what made it special was, the plain dog was for my puppy riding with us and the server recognized that and gave it to use for free. That's the thing that memorable experiences (and five star reviews) are made of. The food was really good and I'm looking forward to going back. Top of my list to try next time: a milkshake.

This Italian food stop is attached to the gas station, but is far from it when you look at quality, quantity, flavor and great value this is a worthy stop any day or for a special day. I did not go inside, and used the drive through, it was very convenient. I could see people inside in what looked like a comfortable and welcoming place to sit and dine.
