What a hidden gem! I dropped in for a refreshing drink on a hot day since I had a little time to kill before heading to an appointment. They have seasonal menus in addition to their regular menu. I went with a seasonal drink, the Brazilian lemonade. It was so delicious. I hope they keep it as a regular option. The person who took my order was patient and nice since I needed time to decide. It might be helpful if they make their menu large and highly visible so people can decide before they are at the register. The space itself is really cute. We came here as a family of 6 for father's day after realizing the place nearby that we'd initially came for wasn't open that day. A blessing in disguise for sure because this place exceeded my expectations. I was mentally exhausted that day from rounding up family and couldn't even muster up the braincells it would take me to order. I went with the barista's recommendation (the Avena latte) and loved the boldness of the coffee and the subtle notes of the cinnamon and nutmeg. A lot of coffee places I've been to make their drinks heavy on those spices in a way that overwhelms the coffee taste. The beauty of going with a group is everyone getting different things and getting to taste a wide variety of the menu. Im not a matcha drinker, but i surprisingly didnt hate the matcha drink my mom got. It didnt scream of bitter grass like other matchas ive tried before.The smoothies were so good i almost regretted getting coffee. But its okay it just gives me reason to go back more. The price was great. 6 large drinks (2 smoothies, one matcha and 3 coffees), 6 arepas (3 pepperoni and cheese the other 3 just cheese) plus a tip set me back 95. I didnt think we'd be eating anything half substantial at all when we opted to come to a coffee place, but the arepas slightly sweet and slightly savory goodness that they were actually filled us up more than I was expecting. The place was fairly quiet for how filled it was with great lighting. It would be a great place to study. I came back again today (7/3/25) with just my dad stressed, with a fat stack of paperwork. It was today's experience that made me make a mental note to sit down and write a detailed review somthing i definitely need to get better at doing especially if itll help out a smaller business. Despite my last visit being with my family over two weeks ago the same barista was there today and they remembered us. I went with their recommendation again and let them decide my fate, my only parameters being something coffee and it being large. I ended up with an orange creamsicle inspired coffee off the summer menu. Just like the Avena this cup was heavier on the coffee taste and subtle on the other notes that make it unique from other items. Another great recommendation. Always love supporting small business shops in my hometown, Pomona. I'm obsessed with the Avena Colombiana coffee! Love that it's already oat milk based. However, it is very sweet for my liking so I order half sweet and it's perfect! Maybe some more coffee latte options coming soon? Very clean and staff is always very nice and friendly, which customer service is very important to have a successful business! Only comment I have is I personally don't care for the decor atmosphere choice lol. It gives off a very St. Patrick's vibe more than it does a Colombian coffee spot. Stopped by this new coffee shop in Pomona and was impressed by how light and bright it was inside. It was clean and really cute, with lots of seating inside and outside! What a perfect place to work, or study. Parking is ample too, just be sure to read the signs so you're not parking in the Cal Poly spaces, or a 30 minute one (if you're planning on staying longer, I mean). The barista that helped me was super friendly and my drink came out quickly. I ordered an iced vanilla latte, which came out a little sweet so I'll probably order it with less vanilla next time. Pomona has been blessed with yet another great coffee shop, this time in the name of Cavice. I ordered a cappuccino - the litmus test of any decent coffee shop - and a mini concha. The cappuccino was perfect in size and temperature (small and hot but not scalding!), and though the concha was a little dry, a dip into my cafecito and it was a perfect bite. The amazing staff was friendly, courteous and informative on the menu and the roast they were serving. The cafe itself is the perfect place to get some work done on the laptop, or meet up with friends (they have a fully enclosed patio as well). Tried their coffee for the first time, and so far I'm impressed. This coffee shop is new, and has a lot of appealing drinks to explore. The price seems appropriate, however based on what we experienced different sizes are not offered, and milk substitutions are charged. Bummer. Staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is quiet. Although Cavice Company was not open my first times seeing them, they have finally opened and it was worth the wait! When I came into Cavice, the whole vibe of the place was so welcoming. They have a nice interior and an outdoor patio that's open to customers. The baristas are very kind and you really can have a conversation with them. I ordered a Strawberry Matcha, which was possibly the best Strawberry Matcha I've ever had, and a Cheese Danish which was sweet and quite delicious. So we walked a few blocks to this spot from another coffee spot that was actually closed for the day. I can't really say that I'm picky, but I know that I am very selective. I usually struggle with the level of sweetness so, I ask for my drink half sweet or 10% sweet. I ordered the Vanilla Cinnamon Latte. Pretty simple drink., but this place gave me exactly what I've asked for, the drink was creamy, rich & flavorful. The espresso was also the perfect amount of caffeine needed to get my day started. The vibe is chill, with good music and comfortable seating, a bar counter and green velvet like material soft cushioning. They also have an outside patio for anyone who prefers the fresh air outside. Apparently this spot has just opened recently! And the only negative review is literally someone that walked in while they were under construction. (So it doesn't count!) Came here yesterday and it was amazing. Abigal I believe was helping us at the register and was so nice. They gave me the 10% for students since my friend and I are both students, and overall kept great vibes throughout the interaction. My cold brew was amazing, an agave cold brew with oat milk, and my friend had a tropical smoothie that was just as good. Terrible business!! I needed to use the restroom. The hostess has like 10 people in line. She refused to give me the password to the bathroom, and said that she needed to ring me up first. I understand that this is a high homeless area and people use the bathroom, but I'm literally wearing a suit. I then asked her if she can bring me up real quick so I can go to the bathroom but she said she had to help the slew of people in front of me first before she could give me the passcode. As a coffee/matcha snop, this place is very nice and service is very well. I got my drink within minutes and not a long wait at all. However, I believe their best for their coffee not matcha. The matcha tasted so bland and not worth buying, however their coffee is very good! Highly recommend as a study spot with good coffee. read more
