Don't judge a matcha by its yelp reviews!!! Looking for a cafe in La Verne as i was in the area for the first time and saw this on tiktok. But when looked it up, all the photos made the matcha look more milky or specialty flavor forward, when what i like is just a standard strong latte. Took a chance and ended up getting an amazing drink, super creamy and delicious! Basically to the level of a lot of the trending cafes in other parts of socal, wish i heard more about nambah online. What a relaxing Coffee Shop! It is Nambah Coffee. Street parking was easy. The shop has comfortable indoor and patio seating. The decor is modern with warm lighting. The staff were very nice and friendly We ordered: -Ube Matcha 5/5 -Pandan matcha with oat milk 5/5 - Pandan matcha with regular milk 5/5 The drinks were refreshing, creamy and had well balanced flavor. I had a good experience at Nambah Coffee (La Verne). I ordered the Brown Coconut Specialty Latte ($8.25 - 16oz - Iced). It's two shots of espresso, coconut cold foam, coconut, browns sugar, and milk. The caffeine is enduring, but it's a little too milky. Fortunately, I eventually felt the caffeine after one hour. (Quick Note: The regular and large have the same amount of shots. This location is also very dog friendly. I observed leashed dogs relaxing inside this coffee shop.) I arrived at Nambah Coffee (La Verne) on Monday (around 7:58AM). Parking is convenient. The street signs say, "90 Minute Parking - 8AM to 9PM - Monday thru Saturday." Staff is EXEMPLARY. Staff's friendliness, eagerness to help, and bright smiles are a high point. I repeatedly observed Staff happily chatting with regulars. Staff (receipt says Tyrone) also happily answered all my questions while maintaining an almost Disneyland-like demeanor. Tyrone cheerfully brought my coffee to my table. And there were instances where Tyrone would happily pet and welcome the customers' dogs. My drink took about two minutes. Good time. As mentioned, I ordered the Brown Coconut Specialty Latte ($8.25 - 16oz - Iced). Personally, I disliked how it lacked a prominent coffee flavor; rather, it tasted somewhat watery & milky with hints of coconut. However, this coffee carries a hidden, resilient strength. To my utter shock, I felt energy arrive an hour after sipping. In addition, I also appreciate how the ice has holes which allows more liquid inside. Unfortunately, it felt like the ice was still CRAMMED inside that brew. There was so much ice! Regarding ambiance, Nambah Coffee (La Verne) is beautiful. The location has wonderful acoustics and music. It's also decorated lovingly. The business uses its space well. The well decorated spot resembles those "nice" coffee shops that we'd see on family friendly sitcoms. I literally heard several college students walk into this spot whispering how, "-this is such a hidden gem." Concerning utility, I liked that there's 10 interior tables. However, I only counted about two electrical outlets. There's customer internet with password, but the information is only accessible by asking Staff for the details. In addition, the location shows bathroom codes for customers; the male and female restrooms are located down the hall. I especially appreciated the location's cleanliness and good ventilation. Looking for a coffee shop because I just dropped off my son at school and really needed caffeine. I saw this place had good reviews, so I decided to try it. I got large snickerdoodle iced coffee and they told me that the only difference with a large drink is more ice and more milk. If I want an extra shot, I have to pay extra. So basically I'm paying extra for ice and milk, and if I want the extra espresso shot, I still have to pay more. What's the point of getting a large? Very disappointing. It taste regular iced coffee but more milky nothing special about it. Also, got brown coconut it's actually really good at first didn't thought coconut and coffee will go together but the cold foam coconut it's actually really good. Conveniently located, it offers a great study space and, of course the necessary fuel to survive. It has since changed names and possibly owners, but it's still just as great as I remember. I come here when my kiddos have their music lessons. It's such a cute little coffee shop in downtown La Verne. Very cozy. I had the mango matcha and the cheese danish. Which were both so good. Nambah Coffee has such friendly staff and a really cute space that works well for both socializing and getting some work done. I thought it was interesting (and kind of fun!) that they double as a cafe with wine and beer!! There's seating both inside and outside! They have overflow seating in the lobby, which is nice & seems like it doubles into a Darty (day party) space on select Saturdays! As a study spot, only the indoor section had outlets, which made working a little tricky (unless you found a table inside) & the music inside was also a bit loud for my taste, but sitting in the lobby was perfect and much more comfortable! On the plus side, the WiFi was fast and stable, which is always appreciated. We ordered the brown sugar coconut matcha and the pandan matcha, and both were great! On a Sunday there's plenty of street parking or park in a paid lot across the street. Accessible parking in front too. There's usually a long line to the door but moves quickly. Service is quick and friendly. Some pastries for sale as well. The coffee and matcha are great. There are basics as well as flavored specialties, all delicious. The cashier that rung us up was nice and efficient. Throughput took a little over 5 min, which is pretty quick considering how busy it was. Drinks & pastries: 1) Snickerdoodle Latte - This contained brown sugar, vanilla, real butter, cinnamon, espresso, and milk. It sounds overwhelmingly sweet, but honestly the only thing I really tasted was cinnamon. Overall, I thought this drink was enjoyable especially for those who prefer their lattes on the sweeter end. 2) Heartthrob - This contained vanilla, white chocolate, cinnamon, espresso, and milk. The flavors mixed really well together. Nothing really overpowered each other. Again, this drink is enjoyable for those who like sweeter lattes. 3) Mango Matcha - This contained mango nectar, vanilla, cream, and ceremonial matcha. I thought the matcha part was okay. You can't really taste the matcha after mixing it. The mango was definitely overpowering. 4) Chocolate chip scone - This tasted as good as it looks. It's not too sweet, but it does get overwhelming. I recommend eating some and saving the rest for later. 5) Chocolate chip cookie - I looove cookies! Couldn't resist trying this too. The edges and middle sections were soft. There's a generous amount of chocolate chips, but it's not overly sweet! Pricing: Average prices for a coffee shop nowadays. We enjoyed their drinks and pastries. We got there around 9 am, and there was a bit of a line already. Busy but not chaotic. I ordered the pandan matcha and my husband got the snickerdoodle latte. Both were excellent. You could actually taste the pandan in the matcha and it was subtle enough that it didn't overpower it. My husband's snickerdoodle latte was good as well. I ordered the Matcha Calamansi and ooowhee did that get me alert! On a hot day, I was thirsty and drank it fast so the next hour, I felt some jitters. Warned myself of my caffeine tolerance is lower than before. The drink itself was really delicious and refreshing! I would definitely order again, just sip slower. I prefer to come here when I'm in the area for a simple Americano, my litmus test of coffee temp and taste. Every brew is always delicious and flavorful. A recent recommendation by one of staff to try was an "Aerocano" which means airing the Americano just slightly to bring out those coffee oils to the top. This place is cozy. It has sofas, chairs and dining tables along with an outside patio. They make the best matcha in my opinion. I always order mine unsweetened or lightly sweetened with almond milk. I have yet to be able to enjoy a matcha ordered like this anywhere without it tasting like dirt but their's does not. Their customer service is always great. I have never had a bad experience at this place. Be prepared to stand in a long line though - that's a good sign. That means their product and service is good. We stumbled upon this cute cafe randomly since we were looking for a place that was open on New Year Day. Props to them on opening on a holiday and it was nice to see everyone waiting so patiently since there was only two workers! I ordered a hot honey lavender espresso and it was delicious! There's both indoor and outdoor seating at this location, which is good for working or catching up with a friend over a latte. There was a really long line during the middle of the day, but the line moved relatively fast and the drinks came out quickly.
