Food trucks have been around for quite some time, but finding a cluster of them in a single location in Riverside is rather new to me. On a sparsely traveled side street that separates the Target parking lot from the 91 freeway, is an attraction that will have you slamming on your brakes and craning your neck to see what the fuss is all about. The day we came, a Sunday afternoon, there were about 10 different, brightly colored trucks lined up along the curb, lights flashing, music blaring, and lines starting to form. You can park your car in the adjacent parking lot, there's plenty of room! Yes, this a very successful food truck according to Yelp. And by far the most patronized truck I saw that day. Inside the tiny galley kitchen are 4 hustling adults, including sweet Isabelle, the food ambassador of a husband and wife duo. I loved her enthusiasm and bright smile. At this point, I want to mention that Columbian taste buds are more finicky than many of their Central and South American brothers. So do not expect hot chile anything. Their palates prefer milder, not spicy foods, even though one of the sauces served with the empanadas was a garlicky, bright, herbal, oily sauce, not unlike the Argentinian chimichurri sauce. They call it aji (ah hē). I find it very addictive. Bandera Paisa - this is a combo plate that features a fat, Columbian chorizo (a non spicy sausage), a pile of moist shredded beef, a large strip of pork belly, white rice, Columbian red beans, a fried egg, avocado, and several pieces of fried sweet plantain. There is also one Cheese Arepa included. This dish can easily be shared by two and is a phenomenal deal and interesting taste adventure. Beef Arepa. This is basically a fried masa pocket substantially filled with their signature shredded beef, then topped with guacamole and white cheese. This is very similar to their beef empanadas, so I would encourage ordering one or the other, not both. It's big. Beef Empanadas (3). This is not your usual empanada. The generous beef filling is made from their sensational slow-cooked, flavorful shredded beef with a hint of corn and vegetables. The pastry is actually made of a coarse grained masa, formed into the traditional moon-shape, then deep-fried. It is heavier and far more filling than what I am accustomed to, but it has a chewy, coarse textured mouth appeal and rich flavor. One order is 3 empanadas. They offer an interesting variety of drinks, the most notable being their iced Columbian coffee (intensely rich, creamy, and sweetened) and a Passion Fruit Slushy that is an exotic fruity perfection. Both are pre-made and served out of a dispenser. Columbiana soda, plus other sodas and juices, are available in bottles and cans. The only downside is the seating. A few wooden tv trays and canvas folding chairs are set up on the uneven dirt adjacent to the sidewalk. It appears that using the sidewalk is off limits for seating. I loved their cute, vibrant Cuban music, but oftentimes it became overwhelming as it competed with another truck's equally loud Mexican music right next to them. That, and the seating, effectively convinced me that eating my food elsewhere was probably a better idea, even though sweet Isabelle was frequently checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Our bill was really reasonable, considering the amount of food we had. It was approx. $42, and there was plenty to bring home for another day. read more

Amazing food truck with great food and service. I love the level of detail. Their branded tables, the blowup mascot, the branded shirts and the friendliness of the staff. We came late on a Friday night and it's great to find a bustling place that's open around 10pm. We got the Aborrajados, a dessert made of fried plantains, stuffed with cheese, dulce de leche, and guava. The best Colombian food we've had in the area. If you're familiar with a colombian menu you'll find yourself right at home. Empanadas, arepas, bandeja paisa, picada to name a few. If you're not familiar with Colombian food they have some juicy looking burgers with a Colombian twist. We tried the cheese and chicken empanadas. It had a mild salsa to enhance the flavor pop in your mouth. Melty cheese pull! chicken arepa with quail egg, sprinkle of cheese and a generous serving of guacamole with a side of red and green sauces. The arepa was golden toasted, shredded chicken mmm mmm good. The Aborrajados is a Colombian dessert plantain. I've had many of these throughout the years and this is by far the best one. A giant plantain with guava & cheese mellows the sweetness from the shredded coconut, topped with Arequipe (which is the best Dulce de leche or Carmel sauce) and a blackberry jam. All tightened up and served warm. Omg it melts in your mouth it was so good! Hospitality is warm and welcoming. Great set up lighted canopy, tables with the nice chairs not the flimsy ones. Outdoor heaters at each table kept us nice and toasty as we soaked in the enjoyment. You could feel the heart and soul in these good people. It showed through their friendliness and shined through their food. With a lot of let downs and miles traveled to find the perfect colombian spot, we're so happy to have finally found something not too far. I eat here at least once a week now, and that's saying a lot because there are some bomb ass food trucks outside of Target. Tonight I ordered a Beef Arepas with a side of fries - the fries are always amazing. I'm an uncultured American so this was the 1st time I've had an Arepas. The shell's crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and the shredded beef's tender and delicious. I'm sad it took me until I was 50 to try one of these. I still can't figure out what's in the green sauce but I really like it. And they gave me a another sauce today, I jabe no idea what it is, but I'll ask for more next time. As much as I love Mexican food, after eating here about 8 times now I think I might go see if I can find a Colombian female to marry because this food is damn good. read more

I'm so happy to have found this gem. I got the bandeja paisa and it was delicious, the arepa was super warm and slightly crispy on the outside but soft and cheesy inside. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. My bf and I stumbled upon Biikho last week, and we've already been back THREE times this week. That should already tell you everything you need to know. This place is absolutely insane...in the best way possible! We've tried the arepa adina, the bandeja paisa, and the Billy Dog and I swear every time we take a bite, we just look at each other in total shock like "how is this even real!?" lol. Every single dish is bursting with flavor, cooked to perfection, and clearly made with so much care and pride. It's honestly the kind of food that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate it. And the customer service? 10/10. On our first visit, we were helped by a sweet and knowledgeable cashier named Hannan who went out of her way to welcome us. She let us sample a Colombian slushy and soda for free just so we could get a feel for the flavors and they were both incredible. She also let us try one of their empanadas (not sure which one it was), but OMG I've never had an empanada that good in my life. It was crispy, flaky, flavorful, and unforgettable. I'm definitely getting a full order next time. In short, Biikho isn't just a food truck, it's an experience. The food, the people, the energy...everything about it is absolutely top tier. I was lucky to come across this food truck in Riverside right by the target on Tyler. Never had Colombian food before and it definitely made a solid first impression. I ordered what I believe it's called "Bandeja Paisa" I loved the arepa con queso, fried banana, Colombian sausage, n the egg w avocado, everything was bomb tbh. A lot of plates that come w variety of food tend to blend flavors so it all tastes the same, not this plate, you can really enjoy the flavor of each of the different foods served on the plate. The portion is bigger than ur usual serving for only $17 (ish) including the soda which is a competitive price considering the other food trucks around n their serving portions. You definitely get more bang for u buck here AND u get to add a reusable Tupperware to your collection! The guy who helped me out was super friendly (my apologies I don't remember his name) from the start. He made me feel welcomed and helped me figure out what to order since I never had Colombian food before. The Biikho Colombian family were incredibly hospitable and made my wedding complete. I had a fusion Indian/Colombian wedding this past weekend and was in dire need of some Colombian flavor to add to the mix. Hanna, Hanan & their whole family not only make DELICIOUS, mouth watering, and amazing food, but they also went out of their way to add little touches of Colombian flags and decor that completed the overall aesthetic. They also made sure to take care of us when we visited their store on D street in Perris! My favorites were the hot dog, the empanadas with that Biikho sauce, arepas and definitely the obleas! From my new brother in law & chef in the family: The mini bandeja paisa was a novel take and loved their flexibility to not include beef or add items to them since it normally is such a big plate. The mini arepas were cute. Once word got out on those obleas, they were a hit. Chocolate was a little sweet for most but loved that they had the con queso. That Colombian hot dog was a flavor explosion, so many textures. The empanadas with meat tasted pretty authentic and the option for instant aji or sauce to go was a nice touch. I tried biikho for the first time the other day and i HAVENT STOPPED THINKING ABOUT IT. We ordered family style and tried the beef arepa, chicharrón arepa, bandeja paisa, pasteles, and papas locas. Everything was fire but my fav was the bandeja paisa!! And if u go u have to get a beef arepa. Omg and they even gave us a free juice!!
