The place is nicely decorated. Second time being there but do not expect your food to come out looking like the pictures. Service was good. One waitress for several tables. Love this place. Mom and I have had lunch here a few times now. The food never disappoints. Drinks are good too. I love a cold Negra Modelo in the summer. What a marvelous surprise! A great Mexican restaurant without having to drive and hour and a half. I'm not sure exactly when they opened but saw a few Facebook posts about them working out some kinks and needing staff. This was our first visit and I have zero complaints about anything. Chips and salsa were brought to the table promptly. Next came a house margarita. It would be worth a trip just for that. And the restaurant does have a nice bar/cantina area with plenty of space. We ordered a queso fundido appetizer (melted chihuahua cheese) you can choose steak or chorizo and we tried the chorizo. It came with warm, fresh flour tortillas. It was delicious. For entrees my mother ordered Chile poblano (elsewhere called Chile relleno) it was huge and it was perfect! Delicious. Rice and beans also were perfect in my opinion. I had the quesabirria dinner. I've only seen this dish at a Mexican restaurant down state and had been craving it and it did not disappoint! The meat and au jus were very flavorful. It also comes with a nice little side of habanero sauce which I used to spice up the salsa that is served with the chips. As I'm writing I'm still feeling fluffy and content. I'm happy to be the first to add and review on Yelp. And the service was great. Whatever hiccups they may have had while opening there were none today. Our waitress Cheyandra was very sweet and provided us with excellent service. I can't wait to go back and try many more of their dishes. I've eaten lots of Mexican in Michigan, but also in California, Arizona, New Mexico, MEXICO and Texas. I know authentic from inauthentic and this is authentic. If you've hit them on a bad day, give it another try. And if you haven't tried them yet I highly recommend. read more

Because they just opened, we will come try them again. But this time, the Bloody Mary was not a Bloody Mary, the cubed beef was ground beef, the chicken tenders were chicken nuggets, the California Burrito didn't have French fries in it, and there is no spice so bring your own. Gosh, I hate having to write a bad review but sometimes it needs to be done. We went out just after the second big snow and were looking forward to some good food in a nice atmosphere (because it looks decent in the photos and so many places around here don't quite have the knack for creating a space that feels like some place you want to spend some time in.) So we drove on snowy roads for a half hour to get here. Our hopes were high. There were a few other people in the place, not crazy busy but not dead either. The server was fairly pleasant, not objectionable but not really friendly either, just kind of doing her job with the a minimum of friendliness. We ordered the Chicken Verde and the Chicken Fajitas. Both came out within like five minutes which tells me that the food was just sitting back there and it tasted like it. Fajitas are supposed to be sizzling hot when they come out. Hence the little cork mat under the skillet and the little potholder on the handle. There was no sizzle. I touched the pan and it was not even hot, just warm. My chicken came with green sauce on it. It was served with tortillas but there was nothing else to put on the tortillas. You would normally serve tortillas on the side so that the cold items like lettuce and tomatoes and sour cream or whatever get put on right before you eat it. But with nothing else to put on them, why serve them on the side, why not just wrap the chicken in the tortillas before serving. It just seemed weird. The flavor was nice though (but I love any and all verde sauce so I'm easy where that's concerned) but I could have made the same thing at home with a jar of green sauce over some chicken. There was nothing else to it. Also the Mexican music was just too loud, the margarita machine was broken (they had no daiquiris) and there were gnats flying all around us while we ate. I have house plants, I know you can get soil gnats but I really didn't see any plants in our area and even if there were, it needs to be addressed. No one wants bugs flying around them when they are eating inside in the middle of winter. Overall we spent about $50 plus gas money to drive all the way out there for a disappointing experience. We will continue to go to Mario's in Gladwin, where even if the environment isnt the greatest, the food is freshly cooked and the waitstaff are always super friendly and competent. read more

Had lunch there yesterday, nice environment, lots of space. Service was great and friendly. However, the food was not great. I ordered the enchilada lunch plate. When they say it is stuffed with ground beef, it's just that, no seasonings on the meat. The sauce was rather spicy which is ok with me but my sister couldn't eat hers. She had a taco with ground beef and again, no seasoning, at all. Now I might be spoiled by SoCal food but this was just plain ground beef. Chicken is shredded and it has no flavor either. I'd rather go to Rancheros. read more

This is my second time at Cazadores. Both times the waitresses were fantastic, excellent customer service. However the food was god awful both times. The queso dip with chorizo was more like shredded melted cheese, you hardly get any as it's served on a thin plate. The chorizo that was in the dish had no spice whatsoever and tasted more like italian breakfast sausage. I had the Special dinner which is pretty much one of everything. My rice was cooked to a hard crisp, the ground beef in each item was disgustingly cheap and inedible. Better off going to a Tacobell. I will come back again and see if anything has changed in the near future, but i'm not getting my hopes up. read more

Arrived around 3:30 and the place was empty. Mexican music was rocking the place LOUD! We were quickly seated and brought complimentary chips and salsa. Chips were good and the salsa was just average. Seemed heavy on some spice and very little cilantro. DW ordered a Chimichanga and I had the Tacos Barria. Her dish was great and she finished the entire Chimi which is unusual for her. On the other hand, my Barria was so salty I couldn't eat it. After advising our waitress, she took it away and told the owner. Owner tasted it, agreed and trashed the entire batch. (Would've been better had they tasted it before serving.) At any rate, I ordered the Fajita taco salad to replace it and it came out PDQ. It was one of the best salads I've Ever had in a Mexican restaurant! When the bill came they had removed the Barria as I expected but also did not charge me for the salad. A nice gesture but I asked our server to redo the bill to include the salad. We'll go back as I think the place has potential to be our go to for Mexican food in this area. read more

Overly load Punts Cana pool side music played on a boom box, very little changes in decor from prior restaurant, missing many items you would find at a real Mex restaurant, no choice of salsas for chips (only mild), garbage premixed margarita, no sangria, stinky run down bathrooms and I could go on and on. Very disappointing knowing that the owner has been in the biz for many years. Food was ok from the extensive but lackluster menu. Wasn't sure what to expect with mixed reviews but had wonderful evening! Sampler platter and shrimp fajita was delicious! Server was friendly and attentive and table by fireplace was warm and inviting on a frigid winter night. Service was fairly quick for as busy as it was. Loved the traditional lime margarita! From a group of 5, not one of us had any issues with any of our different food choices or the service provided. My brother, a meat and potato's kind of guy, loved it! Portion sizes were large with enough leftovers for a second round tomorrow. Yay! read more

The meal was ok. Still tastes like canned or packaged refried beans, rice and sauces. I lived in TX for 10 years and Charro beans are not that hard to make nor is Spanish rice or the queso sauce. But I do realize this is remote Michigan so a fair rating is what they get. The margaritas were good though so that's a positive. read more
