I didn't want to give this place 2 stars but they need to do better with their customer service…read more We purchased 3 tickets but one of our guests was unable to come. The website says you can exchange tickets for $5 for a later show. The attendant had no idea what we were talking about and told us "Nobody told you that you can exchange tickets." We showed them that it in fact does say so on the website. Attendant called over a manager and they briefly spoke. Then we were told that we were correct but all the future shows were sold out and we could only exchange for the same play on a future date. That makes sense but you can still buy tickets for the show so they are not sold out. It doesn't bother me that we could not get a refund or exchange but update your website and train your employees. Everything else was great. There is a parking garage in the back that charges $5. Plenty of parking and lights so the place is safe. The show had food and drinks before the play, during the intermission, and a toast after the play. The play was a blast. I want to return.

Showcasing many known Productions like The Wizard of Oz Annie & The Hobbit just to name a few. These plays have always been well produced & well casted thanks to their director & his crew who always have kept the show going smoothly. The props & backdrops were were well designed & crafted. The backdrops I found most impressively designed were the backdrops for Wizard of Oz when they were doing the scene with The Munchkins. The props just added a great realism to the scene they were design to be used in. The lighting is fair for a fair for a small town theather as I wouldn't expect the same quality you'd find at the Orpheum or GPAC. Their sound system is adequate & I can hear each performers lines & the music with clarity. As I said kept simple & not sacrifing in the way of ticket prices. Low ticket prices & while keeping great quality in productions is a key to this Performing Arts Center success next to their casting dm& play director. I do admit they could use better seating it offers some decient comfort unlike other places who offer better comfort to enjoy a long production. But let Harrell Theatre wow you with their new production of Steel Magnolis coming in February. Enjoy the show. Indeed the productions at the Harrell theatre and we have treasured this venue as intimate and cordial for any type of production. The phrase, "Not a Bad Seat in the House" comes to mind. And the venue often has had some really special talent in their programs over the years which have been truly excellent and community building.

The Danny Thomas / ALSAC Pavilion is a beautiful place that serves as a historical record of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the American, Lebanese and Syrian Associated Charities and it's founder, Danny Thomas. The layout of the Danny Thomas/ALSAC Pavilion is in a star-like shape with five alcoves surrounding the rotunda. It's design symbolizes the far-reaching scope of ALSAC and the work of St. Jude. The brilliant Terrazzo flooring, with a radiating geometric pattern, lines the entry. Inside the dome there's marble-sheathed columns supporting a cupola painted in blues & greens with magenta and purple accents, indicative of the colors of the Mediterranean. You see the lovely calligraphically inscriptions on the arched panels in Arabic and translated in English, that sum up the founder and hospital's mission: "He who denies his heritage has no heritage." "No child should die in the dawn of life." "Those who work for the good are as those who do the good." Tours are by reservation, self-guided and free to the public and available 8 am - 4 pm every day. Alex Labrador, who is Filipino, started giving salsa lessons and it grew into Salsa Memphis. Salsa Memphis is lucky to have Edgar Mendez, originally from LA as an instructor. Now, Salsa Memphis offers plenty of opportunities for people to try it. You can opt for lessons at their dance studio on mt. moriah. The lessons are about a hour to a hour and half and are $12 a lesson or you can buy a pack of 4 lessons for 40 bucks. Beginner lessons are on Mondays. You do need to wear shoes that have slick ,smooth soles so it will be easier to spin. Also, I would recommend a towel because you will work up quite a sweat. The first part of the lesson is usually individual footwook where the basic steps are reviewed. Edgar breaks it down slowly so everyone understands the steps. Then he will use the steps to make a dance routine. The dance routine will actually help you because you use the steps learned in your routine with a partner. As for partners, you initially select a partner but then you will stand in a circle and rotate. Therefore, you learn to dance with different people--some who will have more salsa skills than others. All in all, it is quite a workout. If you want to see what salsa lessons will result in, go to High Point Cafe in the Pinch on Saturday night about 11pm. All the advanced dancers are there and they put on quite a show. You can go earlier and get a free beginner salsa lesson with your 6 dollar admission (it will be $10 if there is a live band). Mostly, they play salsa, meringue and bachata music. People who salsa are quite diverse in size, shape, and nationalities and they are all very nice to beginners. But once we arrived we were told that "the film is not working" and it didn't look good, soon after we was told that we couldn't watch it because it is PG-13, and we are all 13, and we were forced to watch The Super Mario Bros. Movie instead, it was just ruined that trip, but worse of all was when I came across a sign that had Michael playing again later that day, and we were not allowed to watch it, I thought that was unfair, because a lot of people were allowed to watch Michael, when we weren't.
