Good food and friendly service don't ensure survival when the major portion of your customer base (Cazenovia College students) evanesces. A great gem that should be packed. The gyro salad was prefect but I do recommend having the dressing on the side so you can top according to your preference. The gyro fries were good but ask for the fries themselves to be cooked to be extra crispy as they will quickly get soggy. The feta Mac and cheese is also pretty good. Since the owner decided to comment on my review I'll address the misinformation posted. The idea that "everywhere else" simply reheats boxed meat is a terribly weak retort. Any respectable Greek, or gyro, restaurant should have the meat freshly shaved off of a spit, period. Precooked, reheated slices from a box ain't gonna cut it. read more

The first time we went here it was "decent." Now it seems like things are going to continue going downhill. I can tell these owners are first time restaurant owners, as everything is premade and made in bulk. The Falafels themselves are kept in a huge 2-3 gallon container and made probably days before, resulting in a tasteless, dry, and hard fried ball. For the foot traffic this place is getting, the falafel mix should be fresh and rolled in rosemary or olive oil before frying to at least get it moist and add some flavor. Also, the mix needs salt. The chicken is also extremely bland. I know CNY is not famous for using seasonings in its food, but a bit of garlic and grilled onions in the chicken would really amp of the flavor, and sort of "marinate" it to also aid in adding more moisture. My husband found a thin light brown hair in his pita the other day and was not happy. Typical restaurant 101 is that anyone handling food must where a hair net, even if they have short hair. And I've never seen the owners wearing proper hair attire. The cost is also way too expensive for such bland food. You can go to chipotle and get a burrito bowl with larger serving sizes and ingredients that are seasoned and are actually quality (such as organic meat), for about $8 or less. I'm from California so maybe my expectations are too high, but these people need to do better because we won't be back. read more

This is my favorite Greek food place in Syracuse area. Everything is fresh and delicious .Chicken pita is my favorite along with lamb gyro . Great addition to Cazenovia village. I drive from Manlius twice a week for lunch here. Wish they served wine and beer. read more

I really wanted to love this place, but it was so underwhelming. The menu is very limited. Many of our classic Greek favorites were not on the menu. The falafel pita that I ordered had a few wilted greens in it(not wilted from the heat of the falafel, but actually bad). After I picked those out, the sandwich was ok. My friend ordered the gyro and the meat was reminiscent of some sort of steak um style, pre sliced meat(not the classic, rotisserie, sliced to order type that we've come to expect from good Greek places). Some of the booths that have been there since time immemorial have been removed, which was kind of sad, in my opinion. Since they weren't replaced, the seating options have decreased. Unfortunately we wont be back, unless they seriously up their game. read more

This is an updated review. I was not impressed the FIRST time I went, however, they have stepped it up! the warm pita is amazing, and the falafels are fresh! Now, when I go to caz, I love this place! We had the dolmas, hand made and amazing. My wife had a chicken pita which she loved. And I had a falafel sandwich, which I loved. Only regret is I didn't see any hot sauce, but we went when early, so hopefully next time read more

Stopped in Kalamata and ordered the gyro meat salad and it was fantastic! Fresh, flavorful and nutritious--seriously, with romaine lettuce and spinach! They also had my fav flavor of bubly seltzer (grapefruit). Add to that a cozy atmosphere and a friendly owner and you have a winner! read more

The pitas are delicious and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Really glad Caz has this new restaurant!! Definitely worth a try.

Disappointing. I was so hoping for a great experience. The decor is really cute! But the food was not what I was hoping for. I got a hummus pita. The pita bread was generic and flavorless. The hummus was basically garlic with some chickpeas thrown in for fun (not sure if it is made in-house or not). Then I went through the line and faced down rather wilted looking cheap quality veggies, which were dumped on top if I asked for them. I passed on the spinach because it was visibly rotting. I said yes to the Kalamata olives (since I was in Kalamata Pita!) and about 25% of them were mushy. Then more garlic sauce, I mean tahini sauce, was put on top. The end result was so garlicky that my family could smell me from across the house for 24 hours afterwards. I like garlic but when it is the only ingredient you can taste, there's a problem. I hope the owners can spice things up a bit and make the food more authentic and interesting going forward. I don't mind spending $9-10 for a hummus pita, but only if it tastes great! read more
