Some of the best food in town. Consistently delicious. Kind helpful staff. We eat here 3-5 times a week. One of Dothan's best.

Food was good, but not very hot. The Sweet Potato casserole, collards and chocolate pudding were great!

Dothan always needs a good BBQ place. And I want to give props to whoever decided that my side of…read moreDothan, the east side needed more choices. They are a genius...the West side and northwest side already has plenty. Dickey's is the largest BBQ chain in the nation. It is inspired by Texas style BBQ as its origin is from Dallas. I have ate at a few Dickey's over the years, but not the Dothan location. Dickey's claims all meats are cooked on site. I went with the brisket platter, potato salad, and barbeque beans. If you want to know how good a BBQ joint is, try the brisket. It seems to be the most difficult meat to get right. Dickey's did my brisket right. The brisket was moist, smoky, tender, and mixed well with the sauces. There are 3 sauces, all tomato based, and all are served warm. My favorite is the spicy. It just has the most flavor to it. The heat on it is subtle but after a few bites, you will notice the heat. It is not the most spicy BBQ sauce I have ever had...maybe a 5 on my heat scale. The original has a Smokey, mild taste to it. The sweet to me is not all that good because it seems to be watered down with some sugar thrown in. The potato salad is a creamy, mustard base with some pimento or chopped red bell pepper mixed in. I really like it. The beans had a Sweet taste to them. They were ok. You receive a Roll with your plate and my sweet tea was freshly brewed and sweet. There is a loyalty club you can enroll in and Dickey's will send you a coupon for a free one meat plate the next day if you buy a drink from their distinctive yellow cups. The coupon expires the next day so you might want to enroll the day before you plan on making a visit to Dickey's. I want to thank the young lady that made my order as I showed her my coupon. The coupon says one free meat plate. One of the gentlemen, maybe a manager, tried to tell her it was just for pork, which I didn't think was right because if that was true, the coupon should specify. I was ready to argue for some brisket. I might be mistaken, but I believe all meat plates are the same price. The young lady still made my brisket plate and followed the coupon, which I greatly appreciated. Another lady came by and checked on me to see if there was anything I needed. Besides the incident with the man trying to give me a pork plate instead of a brisket plate, I enjoyed my visit to Dickey's and will be back.

Our server was polite and greeted us shortly after we were seated. She brought waters over to the table and then gave us some time to look over the menu. The restaurant wasn't terribly busy, but it was busy enough to keep the two servers on in a study flow. While the location is nice. I did notice that there seems to be a lack of noise control as it was quite loud for my husband and I to hear each other over a two top table. I opted for the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli me while my husband chose the grilled ribeye with potatoes and brussels sprouts. My fried chicken was amazing! Had great seasoning. The mashed potatoes are really good and the broccolini was perfectly cooked for my liking. I would definitely order it again. My husband's ribeye was cooked perfectly to that medium , well temp. His potatoes were good but his brussels sprouts were a slight disappointment. They basically had no seasoning whatsoever and tasted like mush. It would've been better have they boil them and then put them into a cast iron for a little bit to get a little bit of crisp on them. Overall for a hotel restaurant, we found the location to be convenient and decent food.

Salad and tandoori chicken - tons of unsweetened tea that was fresh and yummy. Great portion sizes, good flavor and terrific service all at a reasonable price! A delicious meal in the hotel and being assured it's gluten free, along with fantabulous service- I could not have asked for more.

I arrived, went inside, and my order receipt was timestamped for 4:50PM (12 pieces of chicken and 6 biscuits). The cashier said that it would be about 10 minutes before my order was ready. Stupid me, I believed her. I went and sat in the almost empty dining room. The only other people that were there were also waiting for their orders. As I looked around, I realized how filthy the restaurant was. The carpet was downright gross, there was food crumbs everywhere, and the entire dining room had a shoddy, run down look. It's clear that the carpet hadn't been cleaned in at least a year, likely more. As I watched the staff work (I use that term loosely) behind the counter, I watched one female worker put her hands in her pants and scratch her backside-several times. Then she returned to gathering food for the window orders, and I thought to myself that those folks in cars don't know what they're getting as a side dish. After waiting 30 minutes I went to the counter and asked about the wait time. I was told it would be ready in 10 minutes (apparently 10 minutes means sometime today in employee-speak). I went back to my chair and continued to wait, listening to the employees laugh, play, and use their phones. After another 10 minutes I went to the counter and asked how long it was going to be. The counter person told me 10 minutes (yeah). After 10 minutes I went to the register, and the cashier sauntered up and I told her I wanted a refund. Someone from the back piped up and said the order was ready (no, it wasn't). I told her that I would wait no more than 5 minutes more. After a few more minutes they started putting the chicken in the box, and they discovered that they didn't have any biscuits ready. My box of chicken sat on the counter as they made more biscuits, and the lady who was scratching herself started using her bare hands to put the biscuits in the box. That's right. No hand washing, no glove, just a hand down her pants scratching herself, then putting my biscuits in a box with the same hand. When I finally made it to my vehicle, I had been waiting for my order for 58 minutes. And when I returned home, the box of biscuits went into the trash. And no, they didn't have a shortage of employees-there were at least 5 or 6 behind the counter mostly playing around, not caring about the customers that were waiting. When I left the other two people who were waiting for their food were still there. Needless to say I'll never go back to Bojangles again.
