We just ate here this afternoon. From the looks of the outside I wasn't sure about it, but the parking lot was full (took it as a good sign). The place was busy, a waitress directed us to a table that just opened up. She was a great server, quick with our drinks and fried alligator bites appetizer. I got fresh fried oysters (they have oysters on the half shell, and all kind of baked oysters and fresh fish and seafood)and hush puppies that were also delivered fast. My husband got a huge burger. Was in Headland to watch my nephew play baseball, we all went out to eat after. We chose the Grill, the place is a great local place. I chose to try my friend's suggestion of the Applewood bacon burger, it was huge and delicious. I had a side of sweet potato fries and a cold draft beer. It doesn't get much better. Catching our eye while passing, we stopped on our way home from Destin after deciding Huggin' Molly's was too far of a detour for this trip. We were very pleasantly surprised. First visit at this facility. The experience started off good, but ended horribly. There was a hair in our food, which we unfortunately saw towards the end of the dinner. the OWNER came to the table to address the concern. Her exact words were "I'm so sorry, but that's part of what happens in the food industry. Oh well". No sense of professionalism, no accountability, and no class, and last but not least, apparently no hair nets! Is this how you run your organization? Maybe you are ok with hair in food, but I'm most certain health inspectors would not approve. I can promise, me nor ANYONE that I know will ever dine here again! read more

This little local dive bar was the perfect find! We had the fresh oysters, out of Texas and their lightly breaded perfectly fried Gator bites and homemade sauce, delicious!! The owner John and his wife Karen were delightful! We will return to taste other homemade specials, we were told they make their own burgers and sauces! So glad we stopped!!! read more

Best service in the Wiregrass!!!!! Oysters are shucked and served within minutes and grilled seafood is so flavorful. My wife and I have eaten here several times and it never fails to impress. The place is always busy, But bc the service is so fast you are in and out in under 45 mins. We had 5 dozen and a oyster po boy two beers tonight. In and out. 2nd time reviewing this restaurant. It's amazing they always take care of the customers. The owner is amazing and always provides fast and delicious service. This is now a staple in headland culture.1-22-22!!!! read more

My husband and I are here tonight - we had raw oysters and fried mushrooms (appetizer) and frog legs for our meal. The food and service was PERFECT! Our waitress, Lillee, was exceptional and took excellent care of us! We will definitely be back soon! My fiancé got the whole catfish with cheese grits and french fries. Although he thought the catfish was very good, his cheese grits didn't have a cheese flavor and were like cement. The fries were soggy. I had the fried shrimp po boy sandwich with onion rings. The shrimp were great along with the sauce that came on it, but the bun was cheap and broke apart as I tried to eat it. The onion rings were okay. For the prices they charge, you just expect a better quality of food. The service was okay. Overall, we were kind of disappointed and decided that we wouldn't go back. read more

Eaten a couple of times and ordered a couple times. Same results. Not enough service staff. Called for 15 min to place an order, no answer.

I have been a regular customer at the grill & oyster bar since they opened just a few months ago. One of the best restaurants to come to Headland in a while. The food and service is excellent and only continues to get better. The owners are there and working hard to make you experience a great one. For some reason the previous restaurants reviews are showing up on this page so don't pay attention to anything posted prior to mid 2019. read more

Really good seafood but the cocktail sauce was terrible. It was catsup and black pepper...no horseradish at all. Hush puppies were good and cheese grits were good and a good, fresh salad. Our waitress was very good. She was friendly, efficient and checked on us frequently. I think she said this was just her second week there. read more
