Great small town diner. The ladies run a great welcoming restaurant. The food is great, came out fast and the prices are reasonable.

We both went with the dinner specials, which were only 14.99 each and came with two sides. I ordered the ribs and my husband got the NY strip with butterfly shrimp. For the price, the portions were honestly huge. My ribs were fall off the bone tender and coated in a tangy BBQ sauce that had just the right balance of sweet and smoky. Easily one of the better diner style rib plates I have had. The fries were natural cut, perfectly seasoned, and had that ideal texture where they are pillowy inside with a light crisp on the outside. The succotash was simple but still good and comforting. My husband's steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and had great flavor throughout. The butterfly shrimp were crispy and paired really well with the steak. His side salad was super fresh with iceberg lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion, and shredded cheddar. I did not even get a photo of it because he immediately dug in and loved it. The service really stood out too. Everyone was so attentive and quick to help with anything we needed like extra napkins or more sauce. It felt very welcoming and genuinely cared for. The interior has that true hometown diner feel where it seems like everyone knows each other. It is mostly booths with some tables and even a classic counter with stools, which gives it that nostalgic diner vibe. With both meals and drinks, our total was under $40, which feels rare lately for portions and quality like this. This is one of those spots where you leave full, happy, and feeling like you got an actual deal. Definitely worth stopping in if you are in the area.

If you love large portions and hot yummy food I highly recommend it if you have time. The only issue I have here is this place NEEDS a proper staff. I really do like the folks they run the joint. But the service is inconsistent at best from visit to visit and even on a slow day with an empty dining space it can take a while to get served. Knowing that we went in today not expecting much more than large tasty portions. We took the whole family as a good bye brunch as my oldest his partner who we're visiting with my grandson. Im not sure what happened today but the single little old lady who runs the front was all over the place. She was polite and professional but you could tell she was overwhelmed. It took quite a while to get menus and waters then quite a while longer than that to get to order. She took the order and then we waited. And waited and waited. As we waited the littles started to devolve. And then, we waited some more. From the moment we sat down to the time food arrived was about an hour and a half. By then the kids were done. My wife was done and I was done. The food was hot. Some under cooked and my meal was missing the main component. That mouth watering and coma inducing pastrami. All said and done it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. No one was happy when we left. And that's a huge bummer. The food here is too good for the experience to be so bad. There were apologies and eventually the owner came out and compensated the entire meal. But that's not a good business model. Will I go back? Absolutely. They could cuss me out and I'd go buy the pastrami even if it fell on the floor. It's that good. But I probably won't ever go back with the kids. They don't have the stamina for it and we really have enough time to truly enjoy it as we would like to.

My daughter and I were sat in the back room, while walking to our seats we walked by the bathrooms which had a horrible urine smell coming out and into the seating area. The drink/bus boy couldn't be payed a million dollars to put a smile on his face, he looked so miserable. My daughter got chocolate chip pancakes with a side of bacon. I got the Maryland crab soup with the Alaskan pollack wild wing fish & chips. The pancakes and bacon were a hit with my daughter. My soup was very delicious and so was the fish and chips. We were basically done our tiny drinks before our meals came. We were never offered refills once. We ate our meals with no drinks and we never saw our waitress again after our food was brought out. Not until about 15 minutes after we were done eating. She then asked if we wanted refills while getting our check. My daughter said to her a little late don't ya think. The food is great but the service was terrible this time and not sure we will be in a hurry to return.

I can't remember which? I'm happy to report that the food and the service with new owners at the new diner is excellent. My wife and I both had the fried fantail shrimp entrée which comes with a salad and two sides. The shrimp were quite juicy and tasty and had a nice crunch so they must've been coated with among other things some panko breadcrumbs. The portion was generous as you will see in the photo. Both salads were good, but the greens were just a little tired. French fries were also quite nice and covered with kind of a tasty and crispy coating of some kind. Service was good and we never had to wait very long for anything. The diner has two display cases full of delicious, looking desserts... But we were too full to eat anymore. The bill for the two entrées + 2 soft drinks was $39 + an $8 tip. Good, solid diner food and I would return in the future with no reservations.

Staff and regulars seem to know each other well, giving it a true mom-and-pop feel. We were warmly greeted and seated quickly. My only complaint was the grilled onions on the Swiss burger were not tender--I think they were from the outermost skin of the onion.
