Sunday morning, my son and I went in for breakfast. I really wanted to like this place. Our second time here, and they were pleasantly busy. He ordered pancakes and bacon. I ordered a plate of 6 scrambled eggs and a side of bacon. With only two cheese selections, I added Swiss instead of American cheese. He had a glass of water, I ordered coffee. When the food arrived, he said to try a bite - yep, his pancakes were rubbery and tasteless. I told him I was sorry and then we could get something else later. He just ate his bacon. My eggs were mostly Swiss cheese. More cheese than eggs, It's as if whoever plated this food could not have cared any less. Neither of us were interested in finishing our breakfast, but not to the point of posting a yelp review. My major complaint? We went up to pay and it was $35 - before tip. I was shocked and I said as much. The owner /manager explained that "adding 4 extra eggs and cheese was the difference." Just... Wow. "would you like to add a tip?" Ugh. I still added 20% as I'm not a cheapskate. Total was $42. Good job folks. Maybe your experience will be different. Maybe it was a one-time mistake. But they had a chance to make this right. I got Fire-hosed and that's on them. I'm local and might've become a regular. Looks like a win for the Starlite diner in Hanover. read more

So I found on yelp passing through the area. It's a very charming little diner and I stopped for breakfast. Got two pancakes with bacon and two eggs for $10. Super fast service and all three folks working were all smiles. As a fireman, I of course loved the old memorabilia inside! Seems like a small town place where lots of folks are locals. Stopped in for breakfast the other day and was impressed. Ham and cheese omelette was very good. Home fries were just right. Belgian waffle was a big hit also. Place had plenty of seating and firehouse memorabilia to look at. Our server was great. Will definitely return to sample more of the menu. read more

This is a place that has been in the Littlestown area for many years. I used to work there when it was Boydies as a teenager. It still has that hometown feel. They cook from scratch even the pies and cakes. It's like going back in time. The food is yummy and the portions are generous. You are always greeted with a hello and a smile. What a great little local restaurant buzzing with activity. Family stopped in for breakfast and it was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Coffee was really good as well. The service though took the cake with very attentive staff and super friendly. We will be back for more!! Possibly on a Friday for the jumbo fried shrimp!!! read more

Was getting my car fixed and was told to go to Firehouse while I wait. I walked in and I could tell this place was a legit diner. I sat down in a booth and was greeted by the friendly staff. When I opened the menu I was thinking they gave me a old version because the prices were so low. I got 2eggs - scrapple - hash browns covered in chipped beef(huge portion) - 2 pancakes with their home made peach topping and a ice tea for all under $15. The fresh peach topping was soooooooo good and scrapple was made perfectly. I'll be back next time I am in town. read more

I really like to support locally owned business and I was so happy we came here to eat. It was a cold snowy night a 1/2 hour before they were to close. The young ladies that were working were all smiles and happy to see us. I ordered the fried chicken with Apple sauce and corn fritters and my husband got the turkey and dressing and mashed potatoes. We didn't have to wait to long for our food, but our server apologized for the wait and let me know that they were frying my chicken. Now that's fresh!!! It was delicious and juicy. My husband loved his turkey. You can tell they have their regulars as the servers were chatting it up with everyone. They even were chatting with us and asking about our Valentines Day plans. It was just a really pleasant experience when I come back in town I will visit them again. read more

We've lived here 11 years now and never had a bad meal. It's a nice place to go and see all of the locals. Very friendly staff. The food is so good no matter what time of the day. Personally I'd recommend the crab cake sandwich and the cream of crab soup but there's plenty more there that is good. They also have delicious homemade desserts. read more

I have only eaten here twice once for breakfast and once, most recently for lunch. Both visits were positive. The food was very good with ample portions. The food was served hot and the service both times was quick and friendly. Each day of the week they have specials. Don't hesitate to try them. Nice little gem in my hometown of Littlestown, PA. Walked in and were greeted right away by multiple friendly staff members. Menu has plenty of choices, I got the Firehouse burger. This burger is massive and tasted amazing, I definitely would get it again. Waitress kept water and coffee filled the entire time. We were on our way to Baltimore, and I had yet to try scrapple while still in Pennsylvania. This little place had a good rating so we stopped by to check it out. We were greeted by a nice young lady who waited patiently while we looked at the menu. All I wanted to try was scrapple, so I ordered the side, came out to $2.50 or so. Service was really quick, we only waited about 5 min or so til my scrapple came out. The server asked me if I wanted any sauce, and I asked what it tastes good with. She said some people like it with ketchup, and some people prefer it with maple syrup, so I asked for a little bit of ketchup. She came back with two little containers of both maple syrup and ketchup, thats excellent service right there :) While writing this review I am eating my scrapple with the maple syrup. It has an interestingly mushy texture om the inside, but the outside is nice and crunchy because they deep fried it. Although it tastes great on its own( it kinda tastes like pork rinds), I think it could use a little more pepper, but thats just my preference. Overall this place is great! I know I only got to try their scrapple, but if I were a local, I would totally come here all the time to try new foods and because the service is awesome :D read more

Firehouse Grill is our local diner here in Littlestown PA. I love going in and seeing the history of what Littlestown's streets use to look like years ago. If you want delicious "diner" style food this is the spot for you. My favorite for breakfast is their fried eggs over medium. I never thought a simple egg could taste so good until having one at the Firehouse Grill. My favorite lunch and dinner "go to" is their Chef Salad made with rolled meats and cheeses topped with bacon and their homemade honey mustard salad dressing. They have very generous portions they serve. Make sure you save room for their desserts! Yummy....many choices to pick from! All of this at a fair price served with a smile and a friendly, warm welcome!! read more

Stopped here 12/23/2014 since Dutterer's was closed and Hillcrest no longer exist anymore. Ordered cheeseburger, fires and cole slaw. The cheeseburger was like shoe leather, the fries taste like they had been fried in fish oil and the slaw had an overwhelming taste of mustard. The waitress was very nice and accommodating. I'd been better off eating at McD or Sheetz which are also in Littlestown. Maybe this place is under new management since the other reviews were written?? read more

Good mom & pop diner eats that south central PA is known for. Went Saturday evening and had a nice meal. I recommend the broasted chicken. Reasonable prices and attentive service....sometimes a little TOO attentive as it seemed every person who worked that night stopped at our table to check on us. I guess I shouldn't complain!
